1 Samuel 27

1 David, however, said to himself, “One of these days now I will be swept away by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than to escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will stop searching for me all over Israel, and I will slip out of his hand.”

1 大卫心里想：“终有一天，我会死在扫罗手里，我最好逃到非利士人那里。这样，扫罗就不会在以色列到处追捕我了，我便可以逃离他的手。”

2 So David set out with his six hundred men and went to Achish son of Maoch, the king of Gath.

2 于是，大卫率领他的六百个随从去投靠玛俄的儿子迦特王亚吉。

3 David and his men settled in Gath with Achish. Each man had his family with him, and David had his two wives: Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail of Carmel, the widow of Nabal.

3 他部下的家眷和他的两位妻子耶斯列人亚希暖和拿八的遗孀迦密人亚比该也跟他一同住在迦特王亚吉那里。

4 And when Saul learned that David had fled to Gath, he no longer searched for him.

4 扫罗听到这个消息，就不再追捕他了。

5 Then David said to Achish, “If I have found favor in your eyes, let me be assigned a place in one of the outlying towns, so I can live there. For why should your servant live in the royal city with you?”

5 大卫对亚吉说：“如果你开恩，就让我到郊野的一个城邑去住吧，何必让仆人与王一同住在都城呢？”

6 That day Achish gave him Ziklag, and to this day it still belongs to the kings of Judah.

6 亚吉当天把洗革拉赐给他，因此那地方至今仍属犹大王。

7 And the time that David lived in Philistine territory amounted to a year and four months.

7 大卫在非利士人的地方共住了一年零四个月。

8 Now David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites. (From ancient times these people had inhabited the land extending to Shur and Egypt.)

8 他率领部下袭击基述人、基色人和亚玛力人，这些人自古以来就住在远至书珥和埃及一带的地方。

9 Whenever David attacked a territory, he did not leave a man or woman alive, but he took the flocks and herds, the donkeys, camels, and clothing. Then he would return to Achish,

9 大卫攻打那一带，杀死所有的人，抢走牛、羊、驴、骆驼和衣物，回去见亚吉。

10 who would ask him, “What have you raided today?” And David would reply, “The Negev of Judah,” or “The Negev of Jerahmeel,” or “The Negev of the Kenites.”

10 当亚吉问：“你们今天攻打了哪里？”大卫会说：“攻打了犹大南部”，或说：“攻打了耶拉篾南部”，或说：“攻打了基尼南部。”

11 David did not leave a man or woman alive to be brought to Gath, for he said, “Otherwise they will report us, saying, ‘This is what David did.’” And this was David’s custom the whole time he lived in Philistine territory.

11 大卫把那地方的人都杀掉，一个也不带到迦特，因为他害怕他们会泄露真相。大卫在非利士人那里居住的时候，常常这样做。

12 So Achish trusted David, thinking, “Since he has made himself an utter stench to his people Israel, he will be my servant forever.”

12 亚吉相信了大卫的话，心里想：“以色列人恨透了大卫，他必永远做我的仆人。”
