2 Chronicles 35

1 Then Josiah kept the Passover to the LORD in Jerusalem, and the Passover lamb was slaughtered on the fourteenth day of the first month.

1 तब योशियाह ने येरूशलेम में याहवेह के लिए फ़सह उत्सव मनाया. पहले महीने के चौदहवें दिन उन्होंने फ़सह पशुओं का वध किया.

2 He appointed the priests to their duties and encouraged them in the service of the house of the LORD.

2 उसने पुरोहितों को उनके पदों पर ठहराया और उन्हें याहवेह के भवन संबंधी सेवा के लिए प्रोत्साहित भी किया.

3 To the Levites who taught all Israel and were holy to the LORD, Josiah said: “Put the holy ark in the temple built by Solomon son of David king of Israel. It is not to be carried around on your shoulders. Now serve the LORD your God and His people Israel.

3 सारे इस्राएल में शिक्षा देने के लिए ठहराए गए लेवियों को, जो याहवेह के लिए अलग किए हुए थे, राजा ने आदेश दिया: “उस पवित्र संदूक को इस्राएल के राजा दावीद के पुत्र शलोमोन द्वारा बनवाए याहवेह के घर में प्रतिष्ठित कर दो. अब यह तुम्हारे कांधों के लिए बोझ नहीं रहेगा. अब आप लोग याहवेह अपने परमेश्वर और उनकी प्रजा इस्राएल की सेवा की ओर ध्यान लगाइए.

4 Prepare yourselves by families in your divisions, according to the instructions written by David king of Israel and Solomon his son.

4 स्वयं को अपने-अपने विभागों में कुलों के अनुसार इस्राएल के राजा दावीद और उनके पुत्र शलोमोन के लिखित निर्देशों के अनुसार इकट्ठा कर लीजिए.

5 Moreover, stand in the Holy Place by the divisions of the families of your kinsmen the lay people, and by the divisions of the families of the Levites.

5 “इसके अलावा पवित्र स्थान जनसाधारण के कुलों के भागों के अनुसार खड़े हो जाइए, लेवी भी कुलों के भागों के अनुसार खड़े हो जाइए.

6 Slaughter the Passover lambs, consecrate yourselves, and make preparations for your fellow countrymen to carry out the word of the LORD given by Moses.”

6 अब फ़सह के लिए ठहराए गए पशु वध किए जाएं. स्वयं को शुद्ध कीजिए और अपने भाई-बंधुओं को मोशेह द्वारा सौंपे गए याहवेह के आदेश को पूरा करने के लिए तैयार कीजिए.”

7 From his own flocks and herds Josiah contributed 30,000 lambs and goats plus 3,000 bulls for the Passover offerings for all the people who were present.

7 खुद योशियाह ने लोगों के लिए, जितने वहां उपस्थित थे, मेमनों का समूह और बकरी के बच्‍चे दान में दिए कि वे फ़सह के लिए इस्तेमाल हो. इनकी कुल संख्या हो गई थी तीस हज़ार और तीन हज़ार बछड़े. ये सभी राजा की संपत्ति में से दिए गए थे.

8 His officials also contributed willingly to the people and priests and Levites. Hilkiah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, the chief officials of the house of God, gave the priests 2,600 Passover offerings and 300 bulls.

8 राजा के अधिकारियों ने भी लोगों, पुरोहितों और लेवियों के लिए अपनी इच्छा से दान दिया. परमेश्वर के भवन के अधिकारी हिलकियाह, ज़करयाह और यहीएल ने पुरोहितों को फ़सह का बलिदान के लिए भेड़ों और बकरियों के दो हजार छ: सौ और तीन सौ बछड़े दान में दिए.

9 Additionally, Conaniah and his brothers Shemaiah and Nethanel, as well as Hashabiah, Jeiel, and Jozabad, officers of the Levites, contributed to the Levites 5,000 Passover offerings and 500 bulls.

9 इनके अलावा लेवियों के अधिकारी केनानियाह, नेथानेल, उसके भाई, हशाबियाह, येइएल और योज़ाबाद ने फ़सह बलि के लिए लेवियों को पांच हज़ार मेमने और पांच सौ बछड़े दान में दिए.

10 So the service was prepared; the priests stood in their places and the Levites in their divisions according to the king’s command.

10 तब राजा के आदेश के अनुसार फ़सह की तैयारी पूरी हो गई. पुरोहित अपने निर्धारित स्थान पर खड़े थे और लेवी अपने विभागों के अनुसार.

11 And they slaughtered the Passover lambs, while the priests splattered the blood handed to them and the Levites skinned the animals.

11 उन्होंने फ़सह के लिए ठहराए गए पशुओं का वध करना शुरू किया. पुरोहित उनके द्वारा इकट्ठा हुआ लहू लेकर छिड़काव कर रहे थे और लेवी पशु-शवों की खाल उतार रहे थे.

12 They set aside the burnt offerings to be given to the divisions of the families of the people to offer to the LORD, as it is written in the Book of Moses. And they did the same with the bulls.

12 तब उन्होंने होमबलियों को अलग रख दिया, कि इन्हें लोगों में कुलों के अनुसार बांट दिया जाए, कि वे इसे याहवेह को पेश कर सकें, जैसा मोशेह की पुस्तक में लिखा है.

13 They roasted the Passover animals on the fire according to the regulation, and they boiled the other holy offerings in pots, kettles, and bowls and quickly brought them to all the people.

13 तब उन्होंने फ़सह पशुओं को आग पर नियम के अनुसार भुना और पवित्र भेंटों को विभिन्‍न बर्तनों में उबाल लिया और जल्दी ही सभी लोगों को परोस दिया.

14 Afterward, they made preparations for themselves and for the priests, since the priests, the descendants of Aaron, were offering up burnt offerings and fat until nightfall. So the Levites made preparations for themselves and for the priests, the descendants of Aaron.

14 इसके बाद उन्होंने अपने लिए और पुरोहितों के लिए भी तैयारी की, क्योंकि अहरोन के वंशज पुरोहित रात होने तक होमबलि और चर्बी चढ़ा रहे थे. इसलिये लेवियों को खुद अपने लिए और पुरोहितों के लिए जो अहरोन के वंशज थे, तैयारी करनी पड़ी.

15 The singers, the descendants of Asaph, were at their stations according to the command of David, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer. And the gatekeepers at each gate did not need to leave their posts, because their fellow Levites made preparations for them.

15 दावीद, आसफ, हेमान और राजा के दर्शी यदूथून द्वारा दिए गए निर्देश के अनुसार, आसफ के वंशज गायक भी अपने-अपने ठहराए गए स्थानों पर खड़े हुए थे. द्वारपालों को द्वार छोड़कर जाना ज़रूरी नहीं था, क्योंकि आवश्यक तैयारी उनके भाई-बन्धु लेवियों ने उनके लिए पहले ही कर ली थी.

16 So on that day the entire service of the LORD was carried out for celebrating the Passover and offering burnt offerings on the altar of the LORD, according to the command of King Josiah.

16 तब उस दिन राजा योशियाह के आदेश के अनुसार याहवेह की आराधना के लिए, फ़सह उत्सव मनाने और याहवेह की वेदी पर होमबलि चढ़ाने के लिए सभी कुछ तैयार पाया गया.

17 The Israelites who were present also observed the Passover at that time, as well as the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days.

17 इस प्रकार इस अवसर पर वहां उपस्थित इस्राएल वंशजों ने फ़सह उत्सव और खमीर रहित रोटी का उत्सव मनाया.

18 No such Passover had been observed in Israel since the days of Samuel the prophet. None of the kings of Israel ever observed a Passover like the one that Josiah observed with the priests, the Levites, all Judah, the Israelites who were present, and the people of Jerusalem.

18 भविष्यद्वक्ता शमुएल के समय से अब तक इस्राएल में फ़सह उत्सव का ऐसा समारोह नहीं मनाया गया था और न ही इस्राएल के किसी भी राजा ने पुरोहितों, लेवियों, सारे यहूदिया, उपस्थित इस्राएल और येरूशलेम वासियों के साथ इस तरह का समारोह कभी नहीं मनाया था, जैसे योशियाह ने मनाया था.

19 In the eighteenth year of Josiah’s reign, this Passover was observed.

19 यह फ़सह का उत्सव योशियाह के शासनकाल के अठारहवें साल में मनाया गया था.

20 After all this, when Josiah had set the temple in order, Neco king of Egypt marched up to fight at Carchemish by the Euphrates, and Josiah went out to confront him.

20 फिर, यह सब होने के बाद, जब योशियाह मंदिर में सब कुछ तैयार कर चुका, युद्ध की इच्छा से मिस्र का राजा नेको फरात नदी के तट पर कर्कमीश नामक स्थान तक आ गया. योशियाह भी उसका सामना करने वहां पहुंचा.

21 But Neco sent messengers to him, saying, “What is the issue between you and me, O king of Judah? I have not come against you today, but I am fighting another dynasty, and God has told me to hurry. So stop opposing God, who is with me, or He will destroy you!”

21 मगर नेको ने उसके लिए इस संदेश के साथ दूत भेजे, “यहूदिया के राजा, आपसे मेरी कोई शत्रुता नहीं है. इस समय मैं आपसे युद्ध करने यहां नहीं आया हूं, बल्कि मैं उस परिवार के विरुद्ध आया हूं, जिससे मेरा विवाद है और परमेश्वर ने ही मुझे पूर्ति का आदेश दिया है. अपने ही हित में आप परमेश्वर के इस काम से अलग रहिए, कहीं ऐसा न हो कि वह आपको नाश करे, क्योंकि परमेश्वर यहां मेरी ओर हैं.”

22 Josiah, however, did not turn away from him; instead, in order to engage him in battle, he disguised himself. He did not listen to Neco’s words from the mouth of God, but went to fight him on the Plain of Megiddo.

22 फिर भी योशियाह ने उसकी एक न सुनी. बल्कि उससे युद्ध करने के उद्देश्य से उसने भेष बदल लिया कि वह उससे युद्ध कर सके. वह नेको के द्वारा दिए परमेश्वर के संदेश को ठुकरा कर उससे युद्ध करने के उद्देश्य से मगिद्दो के मैदान में आ गया.

23 There the archers shot King Josiah, who said to his servants, “Take me away, for I am badly wounded!”

23 राजा योशियाह मिस्री धनुर्धारियों के बाणों का निशाना हो गया. राजा ने अपने सेवक को आदेश दिया, “मुझे यहां से ले चलो; मुझे गहरी चोट लगी है.”

24 So his servants took him out of his chariot, put him in his second chariot, and brought him to Jerusalem, where he died. And Josiah was buried in the tomb of his fathers, and all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for him.

24 तब उसके सेवकों ने उसे उस रथ से निकालकर उसके ही एक दूसरे रथ में बैठा दिया और उसे येरूशलेम ले गये, जहां उसकी मृत्यु हो गई. उसे उसके पूर्वजों की कब्र में रखा गया. योशियाह के लिए सारे यहूदिया और येरूशलेम ने विलाप किया.

25 Then Jeremiah lamented over Josiah, and to this day all the male and female singers recite laments over Josiah. They established them as a statute for Israel, and indeed they are written in the Book of Laments.

25 योशियाह के शोक में येरेमियाह ने एक विलापगीत प्रस्तुत किया. आज भी पुरुष और स्त्री गायक अपने शोक गीत में योशियाह का उल्लेख करते हैं. इस्राएल में इसे गाने की रीति हो गई है. इसे विलापगीत की पुस्तक में शामिल किया गया है.

26 As for the rest of the acts of Josiah and his deeds of loving devotion according to what is written in the Law of the LORD—

26 योशियाह के बाकी कामों का वर्णन और याहवेह की व्यवस्था के प्रति उसके पहले के समर्पण द्वारा किए गए सुधारों का वर्णन,

27 his acts from beginning to end—they are indeed written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.

27 शुरू से अंत तक उसके सभी कामों का वर्णन इस्राएल और यहूदिया के राजा नामक पुस्तक में किया गया है.
