2 Samuel 9

1 Then David asked, “Is there anyone left from the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for the sake of Jonathan?”

1 दावीद ने पूछताछ की, “क्या शाऊल के वंशजों में से अब भी कोई बचा रह गया है कि मैं योनातन से की गई अपनी प्रतिज्ञा पूरी करने के लिए उस पर कृपा प्रदर्शित कर सकूं?”

2 And there was a servant of the house of Saul named Ziba. They summoned him to David, and the king inquired, “Are you Ziba?” “I am your servant,” he replied.

2 शाऊल के परिवार की परिचर्या के उद्देश्य से एक सेवक रखा गया था, जिसका नाम ज़ीबा था. उसे ही दावीद से भेंटकरने के लिए बुलवाया गया. राजा ने उससे प्रश्न किया, “क्या तुम्ही ज़ीबा हो?” “जी हां, मैं आपका सेवक ज़ीबा हूं,” उसने उत्तर दिया.

3 So the king asked, “Is there anyone left of the house of Saul to whom I can show the kindness of God?” Ziba answered, “There is still Jonathan’s son, who is lame in both feet.”

3 इस पर राजा ने इससे आगे प्रश्न किया, “क्या शाऊल के वंश में अब कोई भी शेष न रहा, जिस पर मैं परमेश्वर की दया दिखा सकूं?” ज़ीबा ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, “योनातन का एक पुत्र ज़रूर जीवित है. दोनों ही पैरों से वह अपंग है.”

4 “Where is he?” replied the king. And Ziba said, “Indeed, he is in Lo-debar at the house of Machir son of Ammiel.”

4 राजा ने उससे पूछा, “वह कहां है?” ज़ीबा ने राजा को उत्तर दिया, “इस समय वह लो-देबार में अम्मिएल के पुत्र माखीर के आवास में है.”

5 So King David had him brought from the house of Machir son of Ammiel in Lo-debar.

5 तब राजा दावीद ने लो-देबार में अम्मिएल के पुत्र माखीर के आवास से मेफ़िबोशेथ को बुलवा लिया.

6 And when Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he fell facedown in reverence. Then David said, “Mephibosheth!” “I am your servant,” he replied.

6 शाऊल के पुत्र योनातन का पुत्र मेफ़िबोशेथ ने आकर भूमि पर मुख के बल गिरकर दावीद को नमस्कार किया. दावीद ने उसे संबोधित किया, “मेफ़िबोशेथ!” उसने उत्तर दिया, “हां जी, मैं आपका सेवक हूं!”

7 “Do not be afraid,” said David, “for surely I will show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land of your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.”

7 दावीद ने उसे आश्वासन दिया, “डरो मत, तुम्हारे पिता योनातन के कारण तुम पर कृपा करूंगा, और तुम्हारे पितामह शाऊल की सारी भूमि तुम्हें लौटा दूंगा. इसके अलावा अब से तुम नियमित रूप से मेरे साथ मेरी ही मेज़ पर भोजन किया करोगे.”

8 Mephibosheth bowed down and said, “What is your servant, that you should show regard for a dead dog like me?”

8 एक बार फिर मेफ़िबोशेथ दंडवत हो गया. उसने कहा, “आपका सेवक है ही क्या, जो आप मुझ जैसे मरे हुए कुत्ते की ओर ध्यान दें?”

9 Then the king summoned Saul’s servant Ziba and said to him, “I have given to your master’s grandson all that belonged to Saul and to all his house.

9 इसके बाद राजा ने ज़ीबा, शाऊल के सेवक को यह सूचित किया, “वह सब, जो शाऊल और उनके परिवार का है, मैंने तुम्हारे स्वामी के पोते को दे दिया है.

10 You and your sons and servants are to work the ground for him and bring in the harvest, so that your master’s grandson may have food to eat. But Mephibosheth, your master’s grandson, is always to eat at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

10 यह तुम्हारी जवाबदारी है कि तुम, तुम्हारे पुत्र और तुम्हारे सेवक उनके लिए इस भूमि पर खेती करें और उपज उत्पन्‍न करें और उन्हें सौंपे, कि तुम्हारे स्वामी के पोते के पर्याप्‍त भोजन रहे; मगर मेफ़िबोशेथ, तुम्हारे स्वामी का पोता हमेशा मेरे साथ भोजन करता रहेगा.” (ज़ीबा के पन्द्रह पुत्र और बीस सेवक थे.)

11 And Ziba said to the king, “Your servant will do all that my lord the king has commanded.” So Mephibosheth ate at David’s table like one of the king’s own sons.

11 ज़ीबा ने राजा से कहा, “जैसा राजा, मेरे स्वामी ने आदेश दिया है, आपका सेवक वैसा ही करेगा.” तब मेफ़िबोशेथ दावीद के साथ राजा के पुत्रों के समान भोजन करने लगा.

12 And Mephibosheth had a young son named Mica, and all who dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants of Mephibosheth.

12 मेफ़िबोशेथ का मीका नामक एक पुत्र था—एक बालक. वे सभी, जो ज़ीबा के घर में रहते थे, मेफ़िबोशेथ के सेवक बन गए.

13 So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at the king’s table, and he was lame in both feet.

13 तब मेफ़िबोशेथ येरूशलेम में निवास करने लगा, क्योंकि वह सदैव राजा के साथ भोजन किया करता था; वह दोनों पैरों में अपंग था.
