Deuteronomy 30

1 “When all these things come upon you—the blessings and curses I have set before you—and you call them to mind in all the nations to which the LORD your God has banished you,

1 “Quando todas essas bênçãos e maldições anunciadas tiverem acontecido, e vocês se lembrarem delas nos países em que estiverem vivendo, para onde o Senhor, o seu Deus, os tiver dispersado,

2 and when you and your children return to the LORD your God and obey His voice with all your heart and all your soul according to everything I am giving you today,

2 e quando vocês e seus filhos voltarem para o Senhor, o seu Deus, de todo o coração e de toda a alma, de acordo com todos os mandamentos que hoje lhes transmito,

3 then He will restore you from captivity and have compassion on you and gather you from all the nations to which the LORD your God has scattered you.

3 então o Senhor, o seu Deus, trará vocês de volta do cativeiro, terá misericórdia de vocês e reunirá vocês de todas as nações entre as quais ele os havia espalhado.

4 Even if you have been banished to the farthest horizon, He will gather you and return you from there.

4 Ainda que vocês tenham sido levados para os confins da terra, lá o Senhor, o seu Deus, os encontrará e de lá os trará de volta.

5 And the LORD your God will bring you into the land your fathers possessed, and you will take possession of it. He will cause you to prosper and multiply more than your fathers.

5 O Senhor, o seu Deus, os trará para a terra dos seus antepassados, e vocês tomarão posse da terra outra vez. Ele abençoará vocês, e vocês se tornarão mais numerosos do que os seus antepassados.

6 The LORD your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, and you will love Him with all your heart and with all your soul, so that you may live.

6 O Senhor, o seu Deus, dará um coração fiel a vocês, e aos seus descendentes, para que o amem de todo o coração e de toda a alma — e vocês voltarão a viver!

7 Then the LORD your God will put all these curses upon your enemies who hate you and persecute you.

7 O Senhor, o seu Deus, enviará todas estas maldições sobre os inimigos de vocês, sobre todos aqueles que os odiaram e perseguiram.

8 And you will again obey the voice of the LORD and follow all His commandments I am giving you today.

8 Vocês voltarão ao Senhor e obedecerão a todos os seus mandamentos que hoje lhes ordeno.

9 So the LORD your God will make you abound in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your womb, the offspring of your livestock, and the produce of your land. Indeed, the LORD will again delight in your prosperity, as He delighted in that of your fathers,

9 Então o Senhor, o seu Deus, abençoará tudo o que fizerem, os filhos do seu ventre, como também a cria dos seus animais e as colheitas da sua terra. E o Senhor voltará a ter alegria em vocês, como se alegrou com os seus antepassados,

10 if you obey the LORD your God by keeping His commandments and statutes that are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

10 se vocês derem ouvidos à voz do Senhor e guardarem as leis ordenadas por ele e escritas neste Livro da Lei, e se vocês se converterem ao Senhor, o seu Deus, de todo o coração e de toda a alma.

11 For this commandment I give you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach.

11 “Obedecer a estas leis não é algo que está além das suas forças.

12 It is not in heaven, that you should need to ask, ‘Who will ascend into heaven to get it for us and proclaim it, that we may obey it?’

12 Pois estas leis não estão em cima nos céus, distantes demais para que vocês tenham que perguntar: ‘Quem subirá ao céu para trazê-las e proclamá-las a nós, para que as cumpramos?’

13 And it is not beyond the sea, that you should need to ask, ‘Who will cross the sea to get it for us and proclaim it, that we may obey it?’

13 Também não estão além-mar, de modo que tenham de perguntar: ‘Quem atravessará o mar para trazê-las de volta e proclamá-las a nós para que as cumpramos?’

14 But the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may obey it.

14 Pois esta palavra está bem perto de vocês, está em seus lábios e em seus corações, de maneira que vocês podem muito bem lhe obedecer.

15 See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, as well as death and disaster.

15 “Vejam! Hoje proponho a vocês vida e prosperidade, ou morte e mal.

16 For I am commanding you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live and increase, and the LORD your God may bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.

16 Ordeno hoje que amem o Senhor, o seu Deus, que sigam os caminhos traçados por ele e que guardem os seus mandamentos, leis e ordenanças. Somente assim vocês poderão viver e se tornar uma grande nação, e o Senhor, o seu Deus, abençoará vocês e a terra de que vão tomar posse.

17 But if your heart turns away and you do not listen, but are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them,

17 “Mas se o coração de vocês se desviar e não quiser ouvir, e se forem atraídos e levados a servir a outros deuses, prostrando-se diante deles,

18 I declare to you today that you will surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess.

18 então declaro hoje que vocês certamente morrerão; não terão vida longa na terra em que logo vão entrar e da qual vão tomar posse, ao passarem pelo rio Jordão.

19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life, so that you and your descendants may live,

19 “Tomo hoje os céus e a terra por testemunhas contra vocês de que lhes dei a oportunidade de escolherem a vida ou a morte, a bênção ou a maldição. Oh! Escolham a vida, para que vocês e os seus filhos possam viver.

20 and that you may love the LORD your God, obey Him, and hold fast to Him. For He is your life, and He will prolong your life in the land that the LORD swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

20 Tomem a decisão de amar o Senhor, o seu Deus, de ouvir a sua voz e de ficar junto a ele! Pois ele é a sua vida e dará vida longa na terra que ele prometeu dar aos antepassados Abraão, Isaque e Jacó”.
