Esther 10

1 Now King Xerxes imposed tribute throughout the land, even to its farthest shores.

1 O rei Xerxes ordenou a cobrança de impostos a todo o seu império, até sobre as distantes ilhas do mar.

2 And all of Mordecai’s powerful and magnificent accomplishments, together with the full account of the greatness to which the king had raised him, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Media and Persia?

2 As grandes ações do rei e também a história completa da grandeza de Mordecai e das honras que o rei concedeu a ele estão escritas no Livro da História dos Reis da Média e da Pérsia.

3 For Mordecai the Jew was second only to King Xerxes, preeminent among the Jews and highly favored by his many kinsmen, seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his countrymen.

3 O judeu Mordecai ocupou a mais alta posição do reino, logo abaixo do rei Xerxes. Ele era, sem dúvida, muito importante entre os judeus, e todos o respeitavam porque trabalhou para o bem do seu povo, e procurou a prosperidade de todos os judeus.
