Ezekiel 23

1 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

1 Mais uma vez recebi uma mensagem do Senhor que dizia:

2 “Son of man, there were two women, daughters of the same mother,

2 “Filho do homem, havia duas mulheres, filhas da mesma mãe.

3 and they played in Egypt, prostituting themselves from their youth. Their breasts were fondled there, and their virgin bosoms caressed.

3 Ainda jovens, no Egito, elas se tornaram prostitutas. Naquela terra os seus peitos foram acariciados e os seus seios virgens foram apalpados.

4 The older was named Oholah, and her sister was named Oholibah. They became Mine and gave birth to sons and daughters. As for their identities, Oholah is Samaria, and Oholibah is Jerusalem.

4 A mais velha se chamava Oolá, e a mais nova, Oolibá. Na verdade, Oolá é Samaria, e Oolibá é Jerusalém. Casei-me com elas e tiveram filhos e filhas.

5 Oholah prostituted herself while she was still Mine. She lusted after her lovers, the Assyrians—warriors

5 Mas, sendo minha esposa, Oolá me traiu e foi dar seu amor aos assírios, seus vizinhos, adorando seus deuses.

6 clothed in blue, governors and commanders, all desirable young men, horsemen mounted on steeds.

6 Esses assírios, governadores e comandantes, eram todos belos jovens, vestidos de azul, montados em velozes cavalos.

7 She offered sexual favors to all the elite of Assyria. She defiled herself with all the idols of those for whom she lusted.

7 Oolá se entregou como prostituta aos melhores jovens da Assíria, cometeu seus pecados imorais com eles. Cheia de desejos, ela adorou os ídolos da Assíria.

8 She did not give up the prostitution she began in Egypt, when men slept with her in her youth, caressed her virgin bosom, and poured out their lust upon her.

8 O seu hábito de se entregar como prostituta não ficou no Egito, quando ela saiu de lá. No Egito ela se entregava aos carinhos dos egípcios; eles tiraram a virgindade de Oolá, que ficou impura com toda essa imoralidade.

9 Therefore I delivered her into the hands of her lovers, the Assyrians for whom she lusted.

9 “Como castigo, eu a deixei completamente indefesa nas mãos dos seus amantes, os assírios, por quem ela sentia tão fortes desejos.

10 They exposed her nakedness, seized her sons and daughters, and put her to the sword. Thus she became a byword among women, and they executed judgment against her.

10 Eles mostraram ao mundo a sua nudez, arrancando a sua roupa. Levaram presos seus filhos e filhas e, depois, a mataram à espada. Assim, a sua triste fama ficou conhecida pelas outras mulheres, a infiel que foi castigada com justiça!

11 Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet in her lust and prostitution she was more depraved than her sister.

11 “Sua irmã, Oolibá, mesmo vendo o triste fim de sua irmã, continuou cometendo os mesmos pecados. Na verdade, na sua prostituição ela foi ainda mais depravada do que a sua irmã.

12 She too lusted after the Assyrians—governors and commanders, warriors dressed in splendor, horsemen riding on steeds, all desirable young men.

12 Ela sentiu o fogo da paixão pelos assírios, príncipes e governadores bem vestidos, montados em belos cavalos, homens bonitos que atraíram sua atenção.

13 And I saw that she too had defiled herself; both of them had taken the same path.

13 Vi que o caminho de Oolibá era igual ao de Oolá; vi que ela também era uma prostituta, impura e infiel.

14 But Oholibah carried her prostitution even further. She saw the men portrayed on the wall, images of the Chaldeans, engraved in vermilion,

14 “Mas Oolibá rebaixou-se ainda mais que sua irmã, pois apaixonou-se por desenhos na parede, figuras de caldeus, com belos uniformes vermelhos,

15 wearing belts on their waists and flowing turbans on their heads; all of them looked like officers of the Babylonians in Chaldea, the land of their birth.

15 cintos largos e turbantes de pano fino cobrindo suas cabeças. Eram figuras de altos oficiais da Babilônia.

16 At the sight of them, she lusted for them and sent messengers to them in Chaldea.

16 Vendo os desenhos, sentiu grande desejo de ter os caldeus como amantes; para conseguir isso, mandou uma embaixada à Babilônia.

17 Then the Babylonians came to her, to the bed of love, and in their lust they defiled her. But after she had been defiled by them, she turned away in disgust.

17 Então os babilônios foram procurá-la e se deitaram com ela, deixando Oolibá mais impura do que antes. Mas, depois de se entregar a seus amantes, Oolibá ficou com ódio deles e os abandonou com nojo deles.

18 When Oholibah openly prostituted herself and exposed her nakedness, I turned away from her in disgust, just as I had turned away from her sister.

18 Por causa de toda a sua infidelidade e imoralidade, eu me separei por completo dela, como já tinha acontecido com sua irmã.

19 Yet she multiplied her promiscuity, remembering the days of her youth, when she had prostituted herself in the land of Egypt

19 No entanto, ela aumentou mais e mais a sua prostituição, lembrando a sua mocidade no Egito onde havia se tornado uma prostituta.

20 and lusted after their lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of stallions.

20 Sentiu novamente desejo pelos seus antigos amantes — os egípcios — fortes e viris, de membros grandes e tão fogosos no seu desejo como jumentos e cavalos.

21 So you revisited the indecency of your youth, when the Egyptians caressed your bosom and pressed your young breasts.

21 Assim, ela matou as saudades da sua juventude, quando se entregava aos egípcios. Lá seus seios foram apalpados, e ela perdeu a sua virgindade.

22 Therefore, Oholibah, this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will incite your lovers against you, those from whom you turned away in disgust. And I will bring them against you from every side—

22 “Por isso, assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Transformarei em inimigos os seus antigos amantes, que você abandonou depois de se entregar a eles. Eles a cercarão, vindo contra você por todos os lados.

23 the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, the men of Pekod, Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them—all desirable young men, governors and commanders, officers and men of renown, mounted on horses.

23 Virão os babilônios e todos os caldeus, os homens de Pecode, de Soa e de Coa. Virão junto com eles os assírios, belos príncipes e governadores, soldados famosos, todos montados em cavalos.

24 They will come against you with a host of peoples, with weapons, chariots, and wagons. They will array themselves against you on every side with buckler and shield and helmet. I will delegate judgment to them, and they will punish you according to their own standards.

24 Eles virão do norte para atacar você com carros de guerra, carroças cheias de armas e um grande exército. Você será cercada por soldados bem armados, protegidos por escudos e capacetes. Eles cumprirão o meu julgamento à sua maneira, matando e destruindo sem piedade.

25 And I will set My jealous rage against you, and they will deal with you in fury. They will cut off your noses and ears, and your survivors will fall by the sword. They will seize your sons and daughters, and your remnant will be consumed by fire.

25 Mostrarei toda a ira do meu zelo através deles; seus antigos amantes a destruirão, cheios de ódio! Eles cortarão o seu nariz e suas orelhas; quem escapar com vida, será morto logo depois do cerco. Levarão seus filhos e filhas para longe como escravos. O que sobrar dessa destruição, acabará sendo queimado!

26 They will strip off your clothes and take your fine jewelry.

26 Eles arrancarão seus belos vestidos e tomarão as suas lindas joias.

27 So I will put an end to your indecency and prostitution, which began in the land of Egypt, and you will not lift your eyes to them or remember Egypt anymore.’

27 Assim eu vou acabar com a imoralidade e prostituição que você trouxe da terra do Egito. Você nunca mais sentirá saudades do Egito e de seus ídolos.

28 For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Surely I will deliver you into the hands of those you hate, from whom you turned away in disgust.

28 Pois assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Eu a entregarei nas mãos dos seus inimigos, dos antigos amantes que você abandonou cheia de ódio e de nojo.

29 They will treat you with hatred, take all for which you have worked, and leave you naked and bare, so that the shame of your prostitution will be exposed. Your indecency and promiscuity

29 Eles vão castigar você, carregados de ódio. Roubarão todas as suas riquezas pelas quais você trabalhou. Eles a deixarão despida, nua e envergonhada diante de todo o mundo. Todos ficarão conhecendo sua prostituição e sua imoralidade.

30 have brought these things upon you, because you have prostituted yourself with the nations and defiled yourself with their idols.

30 Tudo isso vai lhe acontecer porque você se prostituiu, confiando no poder de outras nações, contaminando-se com os seus ídolos.

31 Because you have followed the path of your sister, I will put her cup into your hand.’

31 Você seguiu os passos de sua irmã, e por isso eu lhe dei o mesmo destino que dei a ela”.

32 This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘You will drink your sister’s cup, a cup deep and wide. It will bring scorn and derision, for it holds so much.

32 “Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: “Você terá o mesmo destino de sua irmã — a destruição completa, a destruição total. O mundo inteiro rirá de você, porque será muito grande o castigo que vai receber.

33 You will be filled with drunkenness and grief, with a cup of devastation and desolation, the cup of your sister Samaria.

33 Tal como aconteceu com Samaria, sua irmã, você se arrastará como um bêbado, sofrendo golpe após golpe, destruição sobre destruição. Este será o seu destino.

34 You will drink it and drain it; you will dash it to pieces, and tear your breasts. For I have spoken,’ declares the Lord GOD.

34 Você beberá da taça do meu furor, beberá até a última gota. Mastigará os cacos, e com eles rasgará os seus próprios seios, no mais completo desespero. “Eu, o Soberano, o Senhor, falei!

35 Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you have forgotten Me and have cast Me behind your back, you must bear the consequences of your indecency and prostitution.’”

35 “Agora, assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Este será o resultado de você ter me esquecido e desprezado: pagará caro pelos seus pecados de traição e imoralidade”.

36 Then the LORD said to me: “Son of man, will you pass judgment against Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominations.

36 O Senhor me disse: “Filho do homem, você julgará Oolá e Oolibá? Diga claramente quais foram os seus terríveis pecados.

37 For they have committed adultery, and blood is on their hands. They have committed adultery with their idols. They have even sacrificed their children, whom they bore to Me, in the fire as food for their idols.

37 São culpadas ao mesmo tempo de adultério e assassinato! Elas me traíram com seus ídolos e assassinaram seus filhos — meus filhos também — oferecendo-os como sacrifícios aos seus ídolos.

38 They have also done this to Me: On that very same day, they defiled My sanctuary and profaned My Sabbaths.

38 Ainda mais: ao mesmo tempo, encheram o meu templo de ídolos e desrespeitaram meus sábados!

39 On the very day they slaughtered their children for their idols, they entered My sanctuary to profane it. Yes, they did this inside My house.

39 Depois de sacrificarem seus filhos aos ídolos, vinham ao templo para o profanar. Assim elas transformaram o meu templo num lugar impuro.

40 Furthermore, you sisters sent messengers for men who came from afar; and behold, when they arrived, you bathed for them, painted your eyes, and adorned yourself with jewelry.

40 “Além disso, mandaram vir de longe homens de outras nações, embaixadores de nações poderosas. Mandaram grupos pedindo que viessem a Jerusalém e Samaria. Para ficar mais atraentes para os convidados, vocês tomaram banho, pintaram os olhos e se enfeitaram com joias.

41 You sat on a couch of luxury with a table spread before it, on which you had set My incense and My oil,

41 Estenderam-se num belo sofá, com uma mesa farta à sua frente, onde estavam o meu óleo e o meu perfume.

42 accompanied by the sound of a carefree crowd. Drunkards were brought in from the desert along with men from the rabble, who put bracelets on your wrists and beautiful crowns on your head.

42 “Do seu quarto vinha o barulho de uma festa imoral, com homens bêbados e rudes trazidos do deserto se divertindo, colocando pulseiras e coroas preciosas nas mãos e cabeças das duas irmãs.

43 Then I said of her who had grown old in adulteries: ‘Now let them use her as a prostitute, for that is all she is!’

43 Então eu disse sobre a prostituta, gasta pelo adultério: Não há jeito mesmo! Ela continuará a ser prostituta até morrer.

44 And they slept with her as with a prostitute; they slept with Oholah and Oholibah, those lewd women.

44 As nações mais indignas continuaram a dormir com Jerusalém e Samaria como quem frequenta a casa de uma prostituta. Elas são mesmo prostitutas sem-vergonha!

45 But righteous men will sentence them to the punishment of those who commit adultery and bloodshed, because they are adulteresses with blood on their hands.

45 Por isso, serão castigadas com justiça, conforme manda a lei. Serão castigadas por homens escolhidos por mim, porque foram assassinas e prostitutas!

46 This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Bring a mob against them and consign them to terror and plunder.

46 “Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Trarei um grande exército para destruir essas duas irmãs prostitutas. Elas serão destruídas e as suas riquezas serão saqueadas.

47 The mob will stone them and cut them down with their swords. They will kill their sons and daughters and burn down their houses.

47 A multidão as apedrejará e depois as cortará em pedaços com suas espadas. Os seus filhos e filhas serão mortos e suas casas queimadas.

48 So I will put an end to indecency in the land, and all the women will be admonished not to imitate your behavior.

48 “Assim, eu acabarei com a prostituição e a imoralidade na terra. As outras mulheres aprenderão a lição e terão medo de fazer o mesmo.

49 They will repay you for your indecency, and you will bear the consequences of your sins of idolatry. Then you will know that I am the Lord GOD.’”

49 Vocês receberão o castigo justo pela sua infidelidade, por esse pecado de adorar ídolos. Assim, saberão que eu sou o Soberano, o Senhor”.
