Ezekiel 40

1 In the twenty-fifth year of our exile, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth day of the month—in the fourteenth year after Jerusalem had been struck down—on that very day the hand of the LORD was upon me, and He took me there.

1 No início do vigésimo quinto ano do exílio, no início do ano, no décimo dia do mês, no décimo quarto ano depois da queda da cidade, a mão do Senhor veio sobre mim e me levou para lá.

2 In visions of God He took me to the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain, on whose southern slope was a structure that resembled a city.

2 Em visões, Deus me levou à terra de Israel e me colocou sobre um monte muito alto. Lá, havia os edifícios de uma cidade à minha frente, em direção ao sul.

3 So He took me there, and I saw a man whose appearance was like bronze. He was standing in the gateway with a linen cord and a measuring rod in his hand.

3 O Senhor me levou mais perto, e eu vi um homem que brilhava como metal polido. Ele estava parado em frente a um portão; na sua mão havia um fio de linho e uma régua de medir.

4 “Son of man,” he said to me, “look with your eyes, hear with your ears, and pay attention to everything I am going to show you, for that is why you have been brought here. Report to the house of Israel everything you see.”

4 E o homem me disse: “Filho do homem, observe bem, ouça com atenção; decore tudo o que vou lhe mostrar. Foi para isso que você foi trazido até aqui. Seu dever é contar ao povo de Israel tudo o que você vai ver aqui”.

5 And I saw a wall surrounding the temple area. Now the length of the measuring rod in the man’s hand was six long cubits (each measuring a cubit and a handbreadth), and he measured the wall to be one rod thick and one rod high.

5 Vi, então, o homem medir o muro que cercava o templo, usando aquela régua de medir. A régua na mão do homem tinha seis medidas longas, cada uma com meio metro de comprimento. Depois de medir, ele me disse: “Este muro tem três metros de espessura e três metros de altura”.

6 Then he came to the gate facing east and climbed its steps. He measured the threshold of the gate to be one rod deep.

6 A seguir, me levou até a porta leste do muro. Subimos os sete degraus que davam num corredor. Esse corredor tinha três metros de extensão.

7 Each gate chamber was one rod long and one rod wide, and there were five cubits between the gate chambers. The inner threshold of the gate by the portico facing inward was one rod deep.

7 Atravessando o corredor, descobri três salas dos guardas de cada lado. As salas eram quadradas e tinham três metros de comprimento e três metros de largura, e as paredes entre uma sala e outra tinham dois metros e meio de espessura.

8 Then he measured the portico of the gateway inside;

8 Depois ele mediu o pórtico,

9 it was eight cubits deep, and its jambs were two cubits thick. And the portico of the gateway faced the temple.

9 que tinha quatro metros de extensão e seus batentes tinham um metro de espessura. O pórtico estava voltado para o templo.

10 There were three gate chambers on each side of the east gate, each with the same measurements, and the gateposts on either side also had the same measurements.

11 And he measured the width of the gateway entrance to be ten cubits, and its length was thirteen cubits.

11 Depois de passarmos pelas salas, havia uma porta de cinco metros de largura que dava para um salão com seis metros e meio de comprimento.

12 In front of each gate chamber was a wall one cubit high, and the gate chambers were six cubits square.

12 Em frente a cada uma das salas havia uma mureta, que media meio metro de altura e meio metro de espessura. Essas salas tinham três metros de cada lado.

13 Then he measured the gateway from the roof of one gate chamber to the roof of the opposite one; the distance was twenty-five cubits from doorway to doorway.

13 Depois disso, o homem mediu o comprimento total do corredor de entrada, de uma porta à outra, por cima do teto. A distância era de doze metros e meio.

14 Next he measured the gateposts to be sixty cubits high. The gateway extended around to the gatepost of the courtyard.

14 Medindo a parede do salão que havia no pátio interno, ele declarou que tinha trinta metros. A medida era até o pórtico que dá para o pátio.

15 And the distance from the entrance of the gateway to the far end of its inner portico was fifty cubits.

15 Ao todo, a passagem de entrada, o corredor, mais o pátio interno, mediam vinte e cinco metros de comprimento.

16 The gate chambers and their side pillars had beveled windows all around the inside of the gateway. The porticos also had windows all around on the inside. Each side pillar was decorated with palm trees.

16 Havia janelas em cada sala, de ambos os lados do corredor. Também havia janelas ao redor nos dois salões de saída e de entrada. Enfeitando as colunas havia palmeiras gravadas na pedra.

17 Then he brought me into the outer court, and there were chambers and a pavement laid out all around the court. Thirty chambers faced the pavement,

17 Passando pelo corredor, o homem me levou ao pátio externo do templo. Construídas junto aos muros havia trinta salas; em frente a essas salas, em toda a extensão dos muros, havia uma calçada de pedra.

18 which flanked the gateways and corresponded to the length of the gates; this was the lower pavement.

18 Esta era chamada “calçada inferior”. Contando a partir do muro, para dentro, a calçada tinha o mesmo comprimento da passagem de entrada.

19 Then he measured the distance from the front of the lower gateway to the outside of the inner court; it was a hundred cubits on the east side as well as on the north.

19 Então, o homem mediu a largura do pátio externo do templo, encontrando cinquenta metros, até a parede do pátio interno tanto do lado leste como do lado norte.

20 He also measured the length and width of the gateway of the outer court facing north.

20 Atravessando o pátio, fui com o homem até a porta da parede norte do templo. Ele mediu a largura e a altura da porta.

21 Its three gate chambers on each side, its side pillars, and its portico all had the same measurements as the first gate: fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.

21 Havia uma passagem semelhante à da parede leste, com três salas de cada lado do corredor, com as mesmas medidas da passagem de entrada leste. Tinham vinte e cinco metros de comprimento por doze metros e meio de largura, medidos na parte superior da passagem, por cima do teto.

22 Its windows, portico, and palm trees had the same measurements as those of the gate facing east. Seven steps led up to it, with its portico opposite them.

22 Havia janelas, uma varanda e palmeiras enfeitando as colunas, tal como na entrada leste. Também havia sete degraus que davam para o pátio interno.

23 There was a gate to the inner court facing the north gate, just as there was on the east. He measured the distance from gateway to gateway to be a hundred cubits.

23 Quem caminhasse através da entrada norte, atravessando diretamente o pátio externo, iria encontrar uma entrada para o pátio interior, no muro interno. A distância entre as duas passagens de entrada era de cinquenta e três metros.

24 Then he led me to the south side, and I saw a gateway facing south. He measured its side pillars and portico, and they had the same measurements as the others.

24 O homem me levou à parte sul do pátio, onde havia uma passagem de entrada igual às duas primeiras.

25 Both the gateway and its portico had windows all around, like the other windows. It was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.

25 Tinha janelas nas salas laterais como as outras, e um pátio interno de entrada. Seu comprimento total era de vinte e cinco metros, e doze metros e meio de largura.

26 Seven steps led up to it, and its portico was opposite them; it had palm trees on its side pillars, one on each side.

26 Havia uma escada com sete degraus levando aos salões. Também havia palmeiras gravadas na pedra, enfeitando as colunas.

27 The inner court also had a gate facing south, and he measured the distance from gateway to gateway toward the south to be a hundred cubits.

27 Nesse lado do templo, quem entrasse pela passagem externa e atravessasse o pátio externo chegaria ao muro interno onde havia uma outra passagem para o pátio interno. A distância entre as passagens era de cinquenta metros.

28 Next he brought me into the inner court through the south gate, and he measured the south gate; it had the same measurements as the others.

29 Its gate chambers, side pillars, and portico had the same measurements as the others. Both the gateway and its portico had windows all around; it was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.

29 Suas salas, suas paredes e seu pórtico tinham as mesmas medidas das passagens externas. Também havia janelas nas salas e salões. Os tamanhos eram os mesmos das passagens anteriores, ou seja, vinte e cinco de comprimento e doze metros e meio de largura.

30 (The porticoes around the inner court were twenty-five cubits long and five cubits deep.)

31 Its portico faced the outer court, and its side pillars were decorated with palm trees. Eight steps led up to it.

31 A única diferença entre as passagens externas e internas era o número de degraus das escadas. Na passagem interna havia oito degraus. Havia pátios internos que davam para o pátio externo, e nas colunas havia desenhos de palmeiras, como nas outras passagens.

32 And he brought me to the inner court on the east side, and he measured the gateway; it had the same measurements as the others.

32 Feitas estas medições, ele me levou para o lado leste do pátio interno, onde havia uma passagem semelhante à do lado sul, inclusive com as mesmas medidas.

33 Its gate chambers, side pillars, and portico had the same measurements as the others. Both the gateway and its portico had windows all around. It was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.

33 As salas, o pórtico e as paredes tinham as mesmas medidas das anteriores. À volta dos salões havia janelas. As medidas dessa passagem eram, mais uma vez, vinte e cinco metros de comprimento por doze metros e meio de largura.

34 Its portico faced the outer court, and its side pillars were decorated with palm trees on each side. Eight steps led up to it.

35 Then he brought me to the north gate and measured it. It had the same measurements as the others,

36 as did its gate chambers, side pillars, and portico. It also had windows all around. It was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.

37 Its portico faced the outer court, and its side pillars were decorated with palm trees on each side. Eight steps led up to it.

38 There was a chamber with a doorway by the portico in each of the inner gateways. There the burnt offering was to be washed.

38 No salão de entrada dessa passagem, havia uma porta que dava para uma sala lateral, onde a carne dos sacrifícios era lavada antes de ser conduzida ao altar.

39 Inside the portico of the gateway were two tables on each side, on which the burnt offerings, sin offerings, and guilt offerings were to be slaughtered.

39 Em cada lado do pórtico de entrada da passagem havia duas mesas. Nelas os animais para os sacrifícios queimados e para os sacrifícios pelo pecado e pela culpa eram mortos antes de serem apresentados no templo.

40 Outside, as one goes up to the entrance of the north gateway, there were two tables on one side and two more tables on the other side of the gate’s portico.

40 Fora do pórtico, de ambos os lados da escada da porta norte, havia mais duas mesas.

41 So there were four tables inside the gateway and four outside—eight tables in all—on which the sacrifices were to be slaughtered.

41 Ao todo, havia oito mesas; quatro dentro do pórtico e quatro fora do pórtico, junto à escada. Sobre essas mesas, os animais eram mortos e preparados para o sacrifício.

42 There were also four tables of dressed stone for the burnt offering, each a cubit and a half long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit high. On these were placed the utensils used to slaughter the burnt offerings and the other sacrifices.

42 As mesas onde se preparavam os sacrifícios queimados eram de pedra, e mediam setenta e cinco centímetros de comprimento e de largura, e cinquenta centímetros de altura. Sobre elas ficavam os instrumentos para matar e cortar os animais.

43 The double-pronged hooks, each a handbreadth long, were fastened all around the inside of the room, and the flesh of the offering was to be placed on the tables.

43 Havia ganchos de duas pontas, cada um com quatro dedos de extensão, pendurados nas paredes do pórtico. A carne dos sacrifícios voluntários era colocada sobre as mesas.

44 Outside the inner gate, within the inner court, were two chambers, one beside the north gate and facing south, and another beside the south gate and facing north.

44 No pátio interno, havia duas salas destinadas aos cantores do templo. Uma ficava ao lado da entrada norte, a outra ao lado da entrada sul, uma de frente para a outra.

45 Then the man said to me: “The chamber that faces south is for the priests who keep charge of the temple,

45 E o homem que me acompanhava me disse: “A sala ao lado da porta interna norte pertence aos sacerdotes que cuidam da conservação do templo.

46 and the chamber that faces north is for the priests who keep charge of the altar. These are the sons of Zadok, the only Levites who may approach the LORD to minister before Him.”

46 A sala ao lado da porta sul, que dá para o altar, pertence aos sacerdotes que dirigem os sacrifícios. Eles são membros da família de Zadoque, os únicos levitas que podem vir à presença do Senhor para servir diante dele”.

47 Next he measured the court. It was square, a hundred cubits long and a hundred cubits wide. And the altar was in front of the temple.

48 Then he brought me to the portico of the temple and measured the side pillars of the portico to be five cubits on each side. The width of the gateway was fourteen cubits and its sidewalls were three cubits on either side.

48 Atravessamos o pátio interno, e ele me levou ao pórtico de entrada do templo. À entrada do templo havia duas colunas de dois metros e meio de largura; essas colunas sustentavam uma porta dupla. A largura da entrada era de sete metros, e suas paredes tinham um metro e meio de largura de cada lado.

49 The portico was twenty cubits wide and twelve cubits deep, and ten steps led up to it. There were columns by the side pillars, one on each side.

49 O pórtico tinha dez metros de largura e seis metros da frente aos fundos. Para se chegar do pátio interno ao templo, havia um lance de escadas com dez degraus. Havia duas colunas, uma de cada lado da entrada.
