Hosea 13

1 When Ephraim spoke, there was trembling; he was exalted in Israel. But he incurred guilt through Baal, and he died.

1 जब एफ्राईम बोलता था तो लोग कांप उठते थे; वह इस्राएल में बड़ा आदमी था. पर वह बाल देवता की आराधना का दोषी हुआ और मर गया.

2 Now they sin more and more and make for themselves cast images, idols skillfully made from their silver, all of them the work of craftsmen. People say of them, “They offer human sacrifice and kiss the calves!”

2 अब वे और अधिक पाप करते हैं; वे अपनी चांदी से स्वयं के लिये मूर्तियां बनाते हैं, जिनमें बुद्धिमानी से कारीगरी की गई है, और ये सब शिल्पकारों का काम है. इन लोगों के बारे में कहा जाता है, “वे मानव बलि चढ़ाते हैं! वे बछड़े की मूर्तियों को चूमते हैं!”

3 Therefore they will be like the morning mist, like the early dew that vanishes, like chaff blown from a threshing floor, like smoke through an open window.

3 इसलिये वे सुबह के कोहरे, सुबह के ओस के समान हैं जो गायब हो जाती है, वे खलिहान की भूसी के समान हैं जो घूमते हुए उड़ जाती है, या वे खिड़की से बाहर आते धुएं के समान हैं.

4 Yet I am the LORD your God ever since the land of Egypt; you know no God but Me, for there is no Savior besides Me.

4 “परंतु मैं तब से याहवेह तुम्हारा परमेश्वर हूं, जब से तुम मिस्र देश से निकलकर आये. तुम मेरे सिवाय किसी और को परमेश्वर करके न मानना, मेरे अलावा कोई और उद्धारकर्ता नहीं है.

5 I knew you in the wilderness, in the land of drought.

5 मैंने उजाड़-निर्जन प्रदेश में, गर्मी से तपते देश में तुम्हारा ध्यान रखा.

6 When they had pasture, they became satisfied; when they were satisfied, their hearts became proud, and as a result they forgot Me.

6 जब मैंने उन्हें खाना खिलाया, तो वे संतुष्ट हुए; और जब वे संतुष्ट हो गए, तो वे घमंडी हो गए; और तब वे मुझे भूल गए.

7 So like a lion I will pounce on them; like a leopard I will lurk by the path.

7 इसलिये मैं उनके लिये एक सिंह के जैसा होऊंगा, एक चीते के समान मैं रास्ते पर उनके घात में रहूंगा.

8 Like a bear robbed of her cubs I will attack them, and I will tear open their chests. There I will devour them like a lion, like a wild beast tearing them apart.

8 मैं उनके लिये उस मादा भालू के समान बन जाऊंगा, जिसके बच्‍चे छीन लिये गये हैं, मैं उन पर हमला करूंगा और उन्हें फाड़ डालूंगा; एक सिंह के समान मैं उन्हें फाड़ डालूंगा, एक जंगली जानवर उन्हें फाड़कर अलग-अलग कर देगा.

9 You are destroyed, O Israel, because you are against Me—against your helper.

9 “हे इस्राएल, तुम नाश हुए, क्योंकि तुम मेरे विरुद्ध, मेरे सहायक के विरुद्ध हो.

10 Where is your king now to save you in all your cities, and the rulers to whom you said, “Give me a king and princes”?

10 कहां है तुम्हारा राजा, जो तुम्हें बचाए? कहां हैं तुम्हारे सब नगरों के शासक, जिनके बारे में तुमने कहा था, ‘मुझे एक राजा और राजकुमार दो’?

11 So in My anger I gave you a king, and in My wrath I took him away.

11 इसलिये गुस्से में आकर मैंने तुम्हें एक राजा दिया, और अपने क्रोध में ही मैंने उसे तुमसे अलग कर दिया.

12 The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is stored up.

12 एफ्राईम के अपराध बहुत हो गये हैं, उसके पापों का लेखा-जोखा रखा गया है.

13 Labor pains come upon him, but he is an unwise son. When the time arrives, he fails to present himself at the opening of the womb.

13 उसको एक स्त्री के बच्‍चे जनने की सी पीड़ा होगी, पर वह बिना बुद्धि का एक बच्चा है; जब प्रसव का समय आता है, तो उसे गर्भ से बाहर आने का ज्ञान नहीं होता.

14 I will ransom them from the power of Sheol; I will redeem them from Death. Where, O Death, are your plagues? Where, O Sheol, is your sting? Compassion is hidden from My eyes.

14 “मैं इन लोगों को कब्र की शक्ति से छुटकारा दूंगा; मैं इन्हें मृत्यु से बचाऊंगा. हे मृत्यु, कहां है तुम्हारी महामारियां? हे कब्र, कहां है तुम्हारा विनाश? “मैं कोई करुणा नहीं करूंगा,

15 Although he flourishes among his brothers, an east wind will come—a wind from the LORD rising up from the desert. His fountain will fail, and his spring will run dry. The wind will plunder his treasury of every precious article.

15 यद्यपि वह अपने भाइयों के बीच उन्‍नति करे. एक पूर्वी हवा याहवेह की ओर से मरुस्थल से बहेगी; उसके सोतों से पानी का फूटना बंद हो जाएगा और उसका कुंआ सूख जाएगा. उसके गोदाम में रखी सब बहुमूल्य चीज़ें लूट ली जाएंगी.

16 Samaria will bear her guilt because she has rebelled against her God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to pieces, and their pregnant women ripped open.

16 अवश्य है कि शमरिया के लोग अपने अपराध का दंड भोगें, क्योंकि उन्होंने अपने परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध विद्रोह किया है. वे तलवार से मारे जाएंगे; उनके छोटे बच्चों को भूमि पर पटक दिया जाएगा, और उनकी गर्भवती स्त्रियों के पेट फाड़ दिए जाएंगे.”
