Isaiah 43

1 But now, this is what the LORD says—He who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine!

1 Mas agora, Israel, o Senhor que o criou e formou diz: “Não fique com medo! Eu mesmo comprei a sua liberdade. Eu o chamei pelo nome; você é meu!

2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you go through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched; the flames will not set you ablaze.

2 Quando você passar por águas profundas, eu estarei ao seu lado; quando tiver de atravessar grandes rios, eles não o encobrirão; quando tiver de passar pelo fogo, não se queimará. As chamas não farão mal a você.

3 For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your place.

3 Porque eu sou o Senhor, o seu Deus, o Santo de Israel, o seu Salvador. Para você receber sua liberdade, eu entreguei o Egito, a Etiópia e Sebá como resgate.

4 Because you are precious and honored in My sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you and nations in place of your life.

4 Outras pessoas perderam suas vidas em seu lugar, e nações em troca da sua vida. Isso porque para mim você é muito precioso e honrado à minha vista, e porque eu o amo.

5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east and gather you from the west.

5 Não tenha medo, porque eu estou ao seu lado. Eu vou ajuntar seus filhos desde o Oriente até o Ocidente.

6 I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, and My daughters from the ends of the earth—

6 Direi ao Norte: Entregue-os! E ao Sul: Não os segure! Eu trarei os meus filhos e filhas de volta a Israel, dos lugares mais distantes da terra.

7 everyone called by My name and created for My glory, whom I have indeed formed and made.”

7 Todo o que é chamado pelo meu nome virá; todo aquele que eu criei para a minha glória, a quem formei e fiz, voltará!

8 Bring out a people who have eyes but are blind, and who have ears but are deaf.

8 Traga esse povo que tem olhos, mas não vê, que tem ouvidos, mas não ouve!

9 All the nations gather together and the peoples assemble. Who among them can declare this, and proclaim to us the former things? Let them present their witnesses to vindicate them, so that others may hear and say, “It is true.”

9 “Ajuntem-se as nações! Promovam uma reunião, todos os povos da terra! Qual de seus ídolos é capaz de prometer, com tanta antecedência, coisas assim? Eles não podem nem contar o que já aconteceu! Que eles tragam suas testemunhas e provem que estão certos, para que todos ouçam e digam: É verdade mesmo.

10 “You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may consider and believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me no god was formed, and after Me none will come.

10 “Vocês são minhas testemunhas”, diz o Senhor, “os meus servos, o povo de Israel, a quem escolhi. Eu os escolhi para vocês me conhecerem e saberem que eu sou Deus; antes de mim, nunca existiu outro Deus, e depois de mim também não haverá!

11 I, yes I, am the LORD, and there is no Savior but Me.

11 Eu, eu mesmo, sou o Senhor, e além de mim não há outro Salvador.

12 I alone decreed and saved and proclaimed—I, and not some foreign god among you. So you are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “that I am God.

12 Eu lhes mostrei o meu poder. Eu prometi salvá-los e cumpri a promessa; vocês são testemunhas de que eu sou o verdadeiro Deus”, diz o Senhor.

13 Even from eternity I am He, and none can deliver out of My hand. When I act, who can reverse it?”

13 “Muito antes de o mundo existir, desde a eternidade, eu sou. Ninguém pode livrar alguém de minha mão. Quando eu faço alguma coisa, quem é capaz de impedir?”

14 Thus says the LORD your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “For your sake, I will send to Babylon and bring them all as fugitives, even the Chaldeans, in the ships in which they rejoice.

14 Assim diz o Senhor, o seu Redentor, o Santo de Israel: “Pelo amor que eu tenho por vocês, mandarei um grande exército contra a Babilônia que fará fugir os soldados caldeus nos navios de que se orgulhavam.

15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, and your King.”

15 Eu sou o Senhor, o seu Santo, o Criador de Israel e o seu Rei”.

16 Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea and a path through the surging waters,

16 Ouçam o que diz o Senhor; aquele que abriu um caminho seco pelo mar, uma estrada no meio das águas violentas,

17 who brings out the chariots and horses, the armies and warriors together, to lie down, never to rise again; to be extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:

17 e para lá levou o grande exército do Egito, com seus carros e cavalos, que foram engolidos pelas águas! Eles caíram para nunca mais se levantar. A sua vida acabou como um pavio que se apaga.

18 “Do not call to mind the former things; pay no attention to the things of old.

18 “Não fiquem lembrando o que aconteceu no passado; não continuem pensando nas coisas que fiz há muito tempo.

19 Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.

19 Vejam, estou fazendo uma coisa completamente nova, algo que já comecei a realizar; será que vocês ainda não perceberam? Vou abrir uma grande estrada no deserto, e no meio da terra seca farei correr riachos!

20 The beasts of the field will honor Me, the jackals and the ostriches, because I provide water in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My chosen people.

20 Os animais do campo me louvarão, como também os chacais e os avestruzes, porque eu fornecerei bastante água no deserto, e riachos na terra seca para o meu povo, o meu escolhido, beber à vontade,

21 The people I formed for Myself will declare My praise.

21 ao povo que formei para mim mesmo para me dar louvor perante o mundo.

22 But you have not called on Me, O Jacob, because you have grown weary of Me, O Israel.

22 “Mas você, Jacó, meu povo, nem pensou em me pedir ajuda. Você está cansado de mim!

23 You have not brought Me sheep for burnt offerings, nor honored Me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with offerings, nor wearied you with frankincense.

23 Você já não me oferece carneiros como oferta queimada nem me reconhece como Deus, trazendo seus sacrifícios. Eu não o sobrecarreguei com ofertas de cereal e pedi tão pouco em ofertas e incenso!

24 You have not bought Me sweet cane with your silver, nor satisfied Me with the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened Me with your sins; you have wearied Me with your iniquities.

24 Mas você não me trouxe incenso de cheiro agradável, nem me deixou satisfeito, apresentando a gordura dos sacrifícios. Em vez disso, você me sobrecarregou com os seus pecados e me cansou com todas as suas maldades.

25 I, yes I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake and remembers your sins no more.

25 “Mas sou eu, eu mesmo, que apago os seus pecados por amor de mim, e que nunca mais se lembra deles.

26 Remind Me, let us argue the matter together. State your case, so that you may be vindicated.

26 Lembre-se do passado; vamos juntos ao tribunal! Apresente a sua defesa e veremos se você tem razão.

27 Your first father sinned, and your spokesmen rebelled against Me.

27 Seu primeiro pai pecou; os seus líderes religiosos me desobedeceram.

28 So I will disgrace the princes of your sanctuary, and I will devote Jacob to destruction and Israel to reproach.”

28 Por isso, vou humilhar os seus sacerdotes. Vou deixar que Jacó seja destruído e Israel sofra as maiores vergonhas”.
