Judges 20

1 Then all the Israelites from Dan to Beersheba and from the land of Gilead came out, and the congregation assembled as one man before the LORD at Mizpah.

1 于是，从但到别示巴以及基列的全体以色列人齐心来到米斯巴，聚集在耶和华面前。

2 The leaders of all the people and all the tribes of Israel presented themselves in the assembly of God’s people: 400,000 men on foot, armed with swords.

2 以色列各支派的首领都参加了这次上帝子民的聚会，当时有四十万持刀的步兵。

3 (Meanwhile the Benjamites heard that the Israelites had gone up to Mizpah.) And the Israelites asked, “Tell us, how did this wicked thing happen?”

3 便雅悯人也听见以色列人聚集在米斯巴的消息。以色列人问那个利未人：“请告诉我们，这件邪恶的事是怎么发生的？”

4 So the Levite, the husband of the murdered woman, answered: “I and my concubine came to Gibeah in Benjamin to spend the night.

4 那利未人，就是被害女子的丈夫说：“我和我的妾到便雅悯的基比亚住宿。

5 And during the night, the men of Gibeah rose up against me and surrounded the house. They intended to kill me, but they abused my concubine, and she died.

5 那天晚上，基比亚人攻击我，包围我们住宿的房子，要杀死我。他们把我的妾蹂躏致死。

6 Then I took my concubine, cut her into pieces, and sent her throughout the land of Israel’s inheritance, because they had committed a lewd and disgraceful act in Israel.

6 我就把她的尸体切成块，送到以色列的各个地区，因为基比亚人做了邪恶、无耻的事。

7 Behold, all you Israelites, give your advice and verdict here and now.”

7 以色列人啊，你们看该怎么处理吧！”

8 Then all the people stood as one man and said, “Not one of us will return to his tent or to his house.

8 众人起来异口同声地说：“我们谁也不回帐篷，谁也不回家。

9 Now this is what we will do to Gibeah: We will go against it as the lot dictates.

9 现在我们要抽签去攻打基比亚。

10 We will take ten men out of every hundred from all the tribes of Israel, and a hundred out of every thousand, and a thousand out of every ten thousand, to supply provisions for the army when they go to Gibeah in Benjamin to punish them for the atrocity they have committed in Israel.”

10 我们要从各支派中抽出十分之一的人负责运粮，等军队到达便雅悯的基比亚后，就可以讨伐在以色列做出这种卑鄙之事的基比亚人。”

11 So all the men of Israel gathered as one man, united against the city.

11 于是，以色列人团结一致，一起去攻打那城。

12 And the tribes of Israel sent men throughout the tribe of Benjamin, saying, “What is this wickedness that has occurred among you?

12 以色列各支派差人去对便雅悯各地的人说：“你们中间怎么发生了这种邪恶的事！

13 Hand over the wicked men of Gibeah so we can put them to death and purge Israel of this evil.” But the Benjamites refused to heed the voice of their fellow Israelites.

13 现在把那些基比亚的无赖交出来，我们要处死他们，从以色列铲除罪恶。”便雅悯人却充耳不闻，

14 And from their cities they came together at Gibeah to go out and fight against the Israelites.

14 还从各城聚集到基比亚，要跟以色列人打仗。

15 On that day the Benjamites mobilized 26,000 swordsmen from their cities, in addition to the 700 select men of Gibeah.

15 便雅悯人从各城召集了两万六千刀兵，还从基比亚召集了七百精兵。

16 Among all these soldiers there were 700 select left-handers, each of whom could sling a stone at a hair without missing.

16 军中有七百精兵善用左手甩石，毫发不差。

17 The Israelites, apart from Benjamin, mobilized 400,000 swordsmen, each one an experienced warrior.

17 其他十一个以色列支派则召集了四十万刀兵，个个善战。

18 The Israelites set out, went up to Bethel, and inquired of God, “Who of us shall go up first to fight against the Benjamites?” “Judah will be first,” the LORD replied.

18 以色列人到伯特利去求问上帝，说：“我们当中哪个支派应当先去攻打便雅悯人呢？”耶和华说：“犹大支派。”

19 The next morning the Israelites set out and camped near Gibeah.

19 第二天清早，以色列人起来在基比亚附近安营，

20 And the men of Israel went out to fight against Benjamin and took up their battle positions at Gibeah.

20 朝着便雅悯人摆开阵势，准备攻打他们。

21 And the Benjamites came out of Gibeah and cut down 22,000 Israelites on the battlefield that day.

21 便雅悯人从基比亚出来，当天杀了以色列军两万二千人。

22 But the Israelite army took courage and again took their battle positions in the same place where they had arrayed themselves on the first day.

22 以色列人重整士气，仍在前一天列阵的地方列阵。

23 They went up and wept before the LORD until evening, inquiring of Him, “Should we again draw near for battle against our brothers the Benjamites?” And the LORD answered, “Go up against them.”

23 列阵之前，他们在耶和华面前一直哀哭到晚上。他们求问耶和华，说：“我们应该再上去攻打我们的同胞便雅悯人吗？”耶和华说：“要上去攻打他们。”

24 On the second day the Israelites advanced against the Benjamites.

24 第二天，以色列人前去攻打便雅悯人。

25 That same day the Benjamites came out against them from Gibeah and cut down another 18,000 Israelites, all of them armed with swords.

25 便雅悯人从基比亚出来迎战，又杀了以色列军一万八千刀兵。

26 Then the Israelites, all the people, went up to Bethel, where they sat weeping before the LORD. That day they fasted until evening and presented burnt offerings and peace offerings to the LORD.

26 以色列全军来到伯特利，坐在耶和华面前哀哭，那天他们一直禁食到晚上，又在耶和华面前献上燔祭和平安祭。

27 And the Israelites inquired of the LORD. (In those days the ark of the covenant of God was there,

27–28 那时，上帝的约柜就在那里，亚伦的孙子、以利亚撒的儿子非尼哈任祭司。以色列人求问耶和华，说：“我们应该再去攻打我们的同胞便雅悯人吗？还是退兵？”耶和华说：“去攻打吧，因为明天我必把他们交在你们手中。”

28 and Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, served before it.) The Israelites asked, “Should we again go out to battle against our brothers the Benjamites, or should we stop?” The LORD answered, “Fight, for tomorrow I will deliver them into your hand.”

29 So Israel set up an ambush around Gibeah.

29 以色列人在基比亚周围设下伏兵。

30 On the third day the Israelites went up against the Benjamites and arrayed themselves against Gibeah as they had done before.

30 第三天，以色列人又像前两次一样在基比亚列阵，攻打便雅悯人。

31 The Benjamites came out against them and were drawn away from the city. They began to attack the people as before, killing about thirty men of Israel in the fields and on the roads, one of which led up to Bethel and the other to Gibeah.

31 便雅悯人前来迎战，被以色列人诱到城外。他们又像前两次一样击杀以色列人，大约三十名以色列人死在通往基比亚和伯特利的两条路上。

32 “We are defeating them as before,” said the Benjamites. But the Israelites said, “Let us retreat and draw them away from the city onto the roads.”

32 便雅悯人说：“我们又像以前一样打败他们了。”但以色列人已经商议好，用诈败的方法诱敌离城到大路上来。

33 So all the men of Israel got up from their places and arrayed themselves at Baal-tamar, and the Israelites in ambush charged from their positions west of Gibeah.

33 以色列全军在巴力·他玛列阵反攻，埋伏在基比亚西面的以色列人也冲了出来。

34 Then 10,000 select men from all Israel made a frontal assault against Gibeah, and the battle was fierce. But the Benjamites did not realize that disaster was upon them.

34 有一万以色列精兵从正面攻打基比亚，战事非常激烈。便雅悯人大祸临头了仍懵然不知。

35 The LORD defeated Benjamin in the presence of Israel, and on that day the Israelites slaughtered 25,100 Benjamites, all armed with swords.

35 耶和华帮助以色列人战胜了便雅悯人。那天，以色列人杀了便雅悯两万五千一百刀兵。

36 Then the Benjamites realized they had been defeated. Now the men of Israel had retreated before Benjamin because they were relying on the ambush they had set against Gibeah.

36 便雅悯人这才意识到自己战败了。 原来以色列人在便雅悯人面前诈败，因为他们仰仗在基比亚附近设下的伏兵。

37 The men in ambush rushed suddenly against Gibeah; they advanced and put the whole city to the sword.

37 那些伏兵迅速冲进基比亚，用刀杀了全城的人。

38 The men of Israel had arranged a signal with the men in ambush: When they sent up a great cloud of smoke from the city,

38 以色列人和伏兵已有约定，伏兵在城内点起一股浓烟时，

39 the men of Israel would turn in the battle. When the Benjamites had begun to strike them down, killing about thirty men of Israel, they said, “They are defeated before us as in the first battle.”

39 以色列人便转身杀回。便雅悯人杀了诈败的以色列军大约三十人，以为像以前一样打败了他们。

40 But when the column of smoke began to go up from the city, the Benjamites looked behind them and saw the whole city going up in smoke.

40 这时基比亚城已浓烟滚滚，便雅悯人回头观望，只见全城浓烟四起。

41 Then the men of Israel turned back on them, and the men of Benjamin were terrified when they realized that disaster had come upon them.

41 以色列人转身杀了回来，便雅悯人大惊失色，知道大祸临头了。

42 So they fled before the men of Israel toward the wilderness, but the battle overtook them, and the men coming out of the cities struck them down there.

42 他们从以色列人面前转身逃往旷野，却无法逃脱。以色列人从各城出来夹攻他们。

43 They surrounded the Benjamites, pursued them, and easily overtook them in the vicinity of Gibeah on the east.

43 以色列人围攻便雅悯人，一路追杀他们直到基比亚的东边。

44 And 18,000 Benjamites fell, all men of valor.

44 便雅悯人共死了一万八千名勇士。

45 Then the Benjamites turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon, and Israel cut down 5,000 men on the roads. And they overtook them at Gidom and struck down 2,000 more.

45 余下的人都逃往旷野的临门岩，沿途有五千人被杀。以色列人追杀他们，一直追到基顿，又消灭了他们两千人。

46 That day 25,000 Benjamite swordsmen fell, all men of valor.

46 那天，便雅悯人共死了两万五千名英勇的刀兵，

47 But 600 men turned and fled into the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon, where they stayed four months.

47 只有六百人逃到了临门岩，在那里住了四个月。

48 And the men of Israel turned back against the other Benjamites and put to the sword all the cities, including the animals and everything else they found. And they burned down all the cities in their path.

48 以色列人回师便雅悯境内，用刀将各城的男女老少以及牲畜全部杀死，又放火烧毁所有的城邑。
