Judges 7

1 Early in the morning Jerubbaal (that is, Gideon) and all the men with him camped beside the spring of Harod. And the camp of Midian was north of them in the valley near the hill of Moreh.

1 耶路·巴力，也就是基甸，清早起来，率领众人在哈律泉旁扎营，米甸人的军营在他们北边靠近摩利山的谷中。

2 Then the LORD said to Gideon, “You have too many men for Me to deliver Midian into their hands, lest Israel glorify themselves over Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’

2 耶和华对基甸说：“你的人太多了，我不能把米甸人交在你们手中，免得以色列人以为是靠自己的力量救了自己。

3 Now, therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the men: ‘Whoever is fearful and trembling may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.’” So twenty-two thousand of them turned back, but ten thousand remained.

3 你要向他们宣布，胆小害怕的人可以离开基列山回家。”结果两万二千人离去，只剩下一万人。

4 Then the LORD said to Gideon, “There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will sift them for you there. If I say to you, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go. But if I say, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.”

4 但耶和华对基甸说：“人还是太多，你带他们到下面的泉水边，我会在那里为你挑选人员，我说谁跟你去谁就去，我说谁不能去谁就不要去。”

5 So Gideon brought the men down to the water, and the LORD said to him, “Separate those who lap the water with their tongues like a dog from those who kneel to drink.”

5 于是，基甸把他们带到泉水边，耶和华对他说：“把像狗一样用舌头舔水喝的和跪着喝水的分开。”

6 And the number of those who lapped the water with their hands to their mouths was three hundred men; all the others knelt to drink.

6 那时有三百人捧水舔着喝，其余的都跪着喝。

7 Then the LORD said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men who lapped the water I will save you and deliver the Midianites into your hand. But all the others are to go home.”

7 耶和华对基甸说：“我要用这三百舔水喝的人拯救你们，我要把米甸人交在你手中。让其余的人都回家吧。”

8 So Gideon sent the rest of the Israelites to their tents but kept the three hundred men, who took charge of the provisions and rams’ horns of the others. And the camp of Midian lay below him in the valley.

8 于是，基甸留下这三百人，把其余人的食物和号角收集起来，让他们回家。米甸人的军营就在他们下面的山谷里。

9 That night the LORD said to Gideon, “Get up and go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand.

9 当晚，耶和华吩咐基甸说：“起来，下去攻打敌营吧！我已把敌人交在你手中了。

10 But if you are afraid to do so, then go down to the camp with your servant Purah

10 你如果害怕，可以和你的仆人普拉一起下到敌营，

11 and listen to what they are saying. Then your hands will be strengthened to attack the camp.” So he went with Purah his servant to the outposts where armed men were guarding the camp.

11 听听他们说什么，你就有胆量攻打敌营了。”于是，基甸就带着仆人普拉下到敌营旁。

12 Now the Midianites, Amalekites, and all the other people of the east had settled in the valley like a swarm of locusts, and their camels were as countless as the sand on the seashore.

12 米甸人、亚玛力人及东方人像蝗虫一样布满山谷，他们的骆驼如海边的沙一样不计其数。

13 And as Gideon arrived, a man was telling his friend about a dream. “Behold, I had a dream,” he said, “and I saw a loaf of barley bread come tumbling into the Midianite camp. It struck the tent so hard that the tent overturned and collapsed.”

13 基甸到了那里，听见一个人对同伴说：“我做了个梦，梦见一个大麦饼滚进米甸营中，把一个帐篷撞翻在地。”

14 His friend replied: “This is nothing less than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God has delivered Midian and the whole camp into his hand.”

14 他的同伴说：“那不是别的，正是以色列人约阿施的儿子基甸的刀，上帝把米甸人和整个军营都交在他手中了。”

15 When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he bowed in worship. He returned to the camp of Israel and said, “Get up, for the LORD has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand.”

15 基甸听了这梦和梦的解释，就俯伏敬拜上帝。他回到以色列人的营中，大声喊道：“起来吧，耶和华已经把米甸军营交在你们手中了。”

16 And he divided the three hundred men into three companies and gave each man a ram’s horn in one hand and a large jar in the other, containing a torch.

16 基甸把三百人分成三队，分给他们号角和藏有火把的瓦瓶，

17 “Watch me and do as I do,” Gideon said. “When I come to the outskirts of the camp, do exactly as I do.

17 对他们说：“你们要看我的行动，当我们走到敌营旁边时，我怎么做，你们也要怎么做。

18 When I and all who are with me blow our horns, then you are also to blow your horns from all around the camp and shout, ‘For the LORD and for Gideon!’”

18 我们这队吹响号角时，你们也要在敌营四周吹响号角，高喊，‘为了耶和华！为了基甸！’”

19 Gideon and the hundred men with him reached the outskirts of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just after the changing of the guard. They blew their horns and broke the jars that were in their hands.

19 午夜初，守卫刚换班，基甸带着一百人来到米甸营旁。他们吹响号角，打破手中的瓦瓶。

20 The three companies blew their horns and shattered their jars. Holding the torches in their left hands and the horns in their right hands, they shouted, “A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!”

20 其余的二百人也吹响号角，打破瓦瓶。他们左手举着火把，右手拿着号角，高喊：“为耶和华和基甸而战！”

21 Each Israelite took his position around the camp, and the entire Midianite army fled, crying out as they ran.

21 他们在敌营周围各守其位，米甸全军边喊边逃。

22 And when the three hundred rams’ horns sounded, the LORD set all the men in the camp against one another with their swords. The army fled to Beth-shittah toward Zererah as far as the border of Abel-meholah near Tabbath.

22 基甸的三百人一起吹响号角时，耶和华使米甸人自相残杀。他们逃往西利拉的伯·哈示他，一直逃到靠近他巴的亚伯·米何拉的边境。

23 Then the men of Israel were called out from Naphtali, Asher, and all Manasseh, and they pursued the Midianites.

23 基甸号召拿弗他利、亚设和玛拿西的以色列人追杀米甸败军，

24 Gideon sent messengers throughout the hill country of Ephraim to say, “Come down against the Midianites and seize the waters of the Jordan ahead of them as far as Beth-barah.” So all the men of Ephraim were called out, and they captured the waters of the Jordan as far as Beth-barah.

24 又派人到整个以法莲山区，吩咐当地人攻打米甸人，占据远至伯·巴拉一带的约旦河渡口。以法莲人都遵命而行，

25 They also captured Oreb and Zeeb, the two princes of Midian; and they killed Oreb at the rock of Oreb and Zeeb at the winepress of Zeeb. So they pursued the Midianites and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other side of the Jordan.

25 还生擒了米甸人的两名首领俄立和西伊伯。他们在俄立磐石上杀死了俄立，在西伊伯榨酒池杀了西伊伯。他们继续追杀米甸人，并带着俄立和西伊伯的人头穿过约旦河，交给基甸。
