Micah 3

1 Then I said: “Hear now, O leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel. Should you not know justice?

1 Ouçam, líderes de Jacó, governantes da nação de Israel! Vocês têm obrigação de saber a diferença entre o certo e o errado,

2 You hate good and love evil. You tear the skin from my people and strip the flesh from their bones.

2 mas vocês amam o que é mau e odeiam o que é bom. Vocês esfolam o meu povo e arrancam a carne até deixar os ossos à vista.

3 You eat the flesh of my people after stripping off their skin and breaking their bones. You chop them up like flesh for the cooking pot, like meat in a cauldron.”

3 Vocês devoram pessoas, dão chicotadas, quebram seus ossos e os cortam, como se fossem carne para a panela,

4 Then they will cry out to the LORD, but He will not answer them. At that time He will hide His face from them because of the evil they have done.

4 e ainda têm a coragem de pedir o auxílio do Senhor nas horas de aflição! Vocês realmente esperam que ele ouça esses apelos? Ele vai virar as costas a vocês por causa das suas maldades.

5 This is what the LORD says: “As for the prophets who lead My people astray, who proclaim peace while they chew with their teeth, but declare war against one who puts nothing in their mouths:

5 Assim diz o Senhor a vocês, falsos profetas, que guiam o meu povo por caminhos errados e que prometem “paz” aos que lhes dão comida, e que ameaçam com guerra os que não lhes dão nada! Esta é a mensagem do Senhor para esses profetas:

6 Therefore night will come over you without visions, and darkness without divination. The sun will set on these prophets, and the daylight will turn black over them.

6 “A noite se fechará em volta de vocês e acabará com as suas visões. A escuridão os cobrirá e vocês não adivinharão. O sol irá se pôr sobre os falsos profetas, e o dia se escurecerá para eles.

7 Then the seers will be ashamed and the diviners will be disgraced. They will all cover their mouths because there is no answer from God.”

7 Os videntes esconderão o rosto de tanta vergonha e reconhecerão que as mensagens que falaram não vinham de Deus”.

8 As for me, however, I am filled with power by the Spirit of the LORD, with justice and courage, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.

8 Mas, quanto a mim, estou cheio do poder do Espírito do Senhor, do amor pela justiça e da coragem para anunciar, sem medo, o castigo que Deus dará a Israel por causa de seus pecados.

9 Now hear this, O leaders of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, who despise justice and pervert all that is right,

9 Escutem, líderes e governantes de Israel, vocês que odeiam a justiça e amam a desonestidade,

10 who build Zion with bloodshed and Jerusalem with iniquity.

10 que constroem Sião, a cidade santa, com derramamento de sangue e pecados violentos de todo tipo.

11 Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets practice divination for money. Yet they lean upon the LORD, saying, “Is not the LORD among us? No disaster can come upon us.”

11 Suas autoridades aceitam suborno para torcer a justiça. Os sacerdotes cobram para ensinar a Lei, e os profetas adivinham em troca de prata, e apesar de tudo isso, se apoiam no Senhor e dizem: “Está tudo bem, o Senhor está conosco. Nada de mau pode nos acontecer!”

12 Therefore, because of you, Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, and the temple mount a wooded ridge.

12 É por sua causa que Jerusalém será arada como um campo e se tornará um monte de entulho. O monte onde está o templo ficará coberto de mato.
