Psalms 42

1 For the choirmaster. A Maskil of the sons of Korah. As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul longs after You, O God.

1 जैसे हिरणी को बहते झरनों की उत्कट लालसा होती है, वैसे ही परमेश्वर, मेरे प्राण को आपकी लालसा रहती है.

2 My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When shall I come and appear in God’s presence?

2 मेरा प्राण परमेश्वर के लिए, हां, जीवन्त परमेश्वर के लिए प्यासा है. मैं कब जाकर परमेश्वर से भेंट कर सकूंगा?

3 My tears have been my food both day and night, while men ask me all day long, “Where is your God?”

3 दिन और रात, मेरे आंसू ही मेरा आहार बन गए हैं. सारे दिन लोग मुझसे एक ही प्रश्न कर रहे हैं, “कहां है तुम्हारा परमेश्वर?”

4 These things come to mind as I pour out my soul: how I walked with the multitude, leading the festive procession to the house of God with shouts of joy and praise.

4 जब मैं अपने प्राण आपके सम्मुख उंडेल रहा हूं, मुझे उन सारी घटनाओं का स्मरण आ रहा है; क्योंकि मैं ही परमेश्वर के भवन की ओर अग्रगामी, विशाल जनसमूह की शोभायात्रा का अधिनायक हुआ करता था. उस समय उत्सव के वातावरण में जय जयकार तथा धन्यवाद की ध्वनि गूंज रही होती थी.

5 Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why the unease within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him for the salvation of His presence.

5 मेरे प्राण, तुम ऐसे खिन्‍न क्यों हो? क्यों मेरे हृदय में तुम ऐसे व्याकुल हो गए हो? परमेश्वर पर भरोसा रखो, क्योंकि यह सब होने पर मैं पुनः उनकी उपस्थिति के आश्वासन के लिए उनका स्तवन करूंगा.

6 O my God, my soul despairs within me. Therefore I remember You from the land of Jordan and the peaks of Hermon—even from Mount Mizar.

6 मेरे परमेश्वर! मेरे अंदर खिन्‍न है मेरा प्राण; तब मैं यरदन प्रदेश से तथा हरमोन, मित्सार पर्वत से आपका स्मरण करूंगा.

7 Deep calls to deep in the roar of Your waterfalls; all Your breakers and waves have rolled over me.

7 आपके झरने की गर्जना के ऊपर से सागर सागर का आह्वान करता है; सागर की लहरें तथा तट पर टकराती लहरें मुझ पर होती हुई निकल गईं.

8 The LORD decrees His loving devotion by day, and at night His song is with me as a prayer to the God of my life.

8 दिन के समय याहवेह अपना करुणा-प्रेम प्रगट करते हैं, रात्रि में उनका गीत जो मेरे जीवन के लिए परमेश्वर को संबोधित एक प्रार्थना है, उसे मैं गाया करूंगा.

9 I say to God my Rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why must I walk in sorrow because of the enemy’s oppression?”

9 परमेश्वर, मेरी चट्टान से मैं प्रश्न करूंगा, “आप मुझे क्यों भूल गए? मेरे शत्रुओं द्वारा दी जा रही यातनाओं के कारण, क्यों मुझे शोकित होना पड़ रहा है?”

10 Like the crushing of my bones, my enemies taunt me, while they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

10 जब सारे दिन मेरे दुश्मन यह कहते हुए मुझ पर ताना मारते हैं, “कहां है तुम्हारा परमेश्वर?” तब मेरी हड्डियां मृत्यु वेदना सह रहीं हैं.

11 Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why the unease within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.

11 मेरे प्राण, तुम ऐसे खिन्‍न क्यों हो? क्यों मेरे हृदय में तुम ऐसे व्याकुल हो गए हो? परमेश्वर पर भरोसा रखो, क्योंकि यह सब होते हुए भी मैं याहवेह का स्तवन करूंगा.
