Zechariah 10

1 Ask the LORD for rain in springtime; the LORD makes the storm clouds, and He will give everyone showers of rain and crops in the field.

1 Peça ao Senhor chuva na primavera, e ele responderá com relâmpagos e aguaceiros. Todos os campos se tornarão verdes e viçosos.

2 For idols speak deceit and diviners see illusions; they tell false dreams and offer empty comfort. Therefore the people wander like sheep, oppressed for lack of a shepherd.

2 As promessas dos adivinhadores são um monte de mentiras bobas. Promessas assim não adiantam nada; nunca se realizam. Judá e Israel andam perdidos como ovelhas, e todos os atacam porque não há pastor para protegê-los.

3 “My anger burns against the shepherds, and I will punish the leaders. For the LORD of Hosts attends to His flock, the house of Judah; He will make them like His royal steed in battle.

3 “A minha ira contra os seus pastores, seus líderes, está fervendo e eu os castigarei. O Senhor dos Exércitos chegou para ajudar o seu rebanho, o povo de Judá. E farei dele um povo forte e orgulhoso, como um corajoso cavalo na batalha.

4 The cornerstone will come from Judah, the tent peg from him, as well as the battle bow and every ruler together.

4 Do meio dele surgirá a pedra de esquina, a estaca que firma a tenda da esperança, o arco que vence as batalhas, os governantes.

5 They will be like mighty men in battle, trampling the enemy in the mire of the streets. They will fight because the LORD is with them, and they will put the horsemen to shame.

5 O povo de Judá será valente como guerreiros que pisam com os pés os seus inimigos na lama. O Senhor está do lado deles na luta, e assim derrotarão os inimigos montados a cavalo.

6 I will strengthen the house of Judah and save the house of Joseph. I will restore them because I have compassion on them, and they will be as though I had not rejected them. For I am the LORD their God, and I will answer them.

6 “Eu fortalecerei a tribo de Judá, e salvarei a casa de José. Eu os restabelecerei porque os amo. E será como se eu nunca os tivesse rejeitado, porque eu sou o Senhor, o seu Deus, e responderei às suas orações.

7 Ephraim will be like a mighty man, and their hearts will be glad as with wine. Their children will see it and be joyful; their hearts will rejoice in the LORD.

7 Os homens de Israel serão como guerreiros valentes. Serão alegres como quem tomou bom vinho. Seus filhos também verão a bondade do Senhor e ficarão contentes. Os seus corações se alegrarão no Senhor.

8 I will whistle for them to gather, for I have redeemed them; and they will be as numerous as they once were.

8 Quando assobiar para eles, virão correndo porque eu os comprei novamente para mim. Eles serão novamente tão numerosos como antes.

9 Though I sow them among the nations, they will remember Me in distant lands; they and their children will live and return.

9 Embora eu os tenha espalhado entre as nações e povos distantes, eles se lembrarão de mim. Viverão com seus filhos e voltarão para a sua terra.

10 I will bring them back from Egypt and gather them from Assyria. I will bring them to Gilead and Lebanon until no more room is found for them.

10 Eu os trarei de volta do Egito e da Assíria e os levarei para as terras de Gileade e do Líbano. Crescerão tanto que não haverá espaço para todos.

11 They will pass through the sea of distress and strike the waves of the sea; all the depths of the Nile will dry up. The pride of Assyria will be brought down, and the scepter of Egypt will depart.

11 Eles atravessarão em segurança o mar da angústia, porque eu vou segurar as ondas. O rio Nilo secará, o orgulho da Assíria será abatido e o poder do Egito se acabará”.

12 I will strengthen them in the LORD, and in His name they will walk,” declares the LORD.

12 O Senhor diz ainda: “Eu fortalecerei o meu povo com o meu poder, e andarão em meu nome”.
