1 The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

2 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

3 The children of Amram: Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. The sons of Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

4 Eleazar was the father of Phinehas, Phinehas was the father of Abishua,

10 Johanan was the father of Azariah, who served as priest in the temple that Solomon built in Jerusalem,

11 Azariah was the father of Amariah, Amariah was the father of Ahitub,

14 Azariah was the father of Seraiah, and Seraiah was the father of Jehozadak.

15 Jehozadak went into captivity when the LORD sent Judah and Jerusalem into exile by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

15 जब याहवेह ने नबूकदनेज्ज़र द्वारा यहूदिया और येरूशलेम को बंधुआई में भेजा, तब यहोत्सादाक भी बंधुआई में ले जाया गया:

16 The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

17 These are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

19 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the clans of the Levites listed according to their fathers:

20 Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,

22 The descendants of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,

23 Elkanah his son, Ebiasaph his son, Assir his son,

24 Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Shaul his son.

25 The descendants of Elkanah: Amasai, Ahimoth,

26 Elkanah his son, Zophai his son, Nahath his son,

27 Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, and Elkanah his son.

28 The sons of Samuel: Joel his firstborn and Abijah his second son.

30 Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, and Asaiah his son.

31 These are the men David put in charge of the music in the house of the LORD after the ark rested there.

32 They ministered with song before the tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting, until Solomon built the house of the LORD in Jerusalem. And they performed their duties according to the regulations given them.

33 These are the men who served, together with their sons. From the Kohathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,

48 Their fellow Levites were assigned to every kind of service of the tabernacle, the house of God.

49 But Aaron and his sons did all the work of the Most Holy Place. They presented the offerings on the altar of burnt offering and on the altar of incense to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

50 These were the descendants of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,

51 Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,

52 Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,

53 Zadok his son, and Ahimaaz his son.

53 उसका पुत्र सादोक और उसका पुत्र अहीमाज़ था.

54 Now these were the territories assigned to the descendants of Aaron from the Kohathite clan for their settlements, because the first lot fell to them:

54 उनकी सीमाओं ही के भीतर, उनके शिविरों के आधार पर उनके उपनिवेश इस प्रकार थे मतपत्रों के आधार पर सर्वप्रथम स्थान अहरोन के पुत्रों के परिवार को प्राप्‍त हुआ था. (अहरोन-वंशजों को जो कोहाथि कुल के थे, क्योंकि चिट्ठी डालकर वे ही इसके लिए पहले स्थान के लिए चुने गए थे):

55 They were given Hebron in the land of Judah and its surrounding pasturelands.

55 इन्होंने उन्हें यहूदिया में हेब्रोन क्षेत्र दे दिया साथ ही इसके आस-पास के चरागाह भी.

56 But the fields and villages around the city were given to Caleb son of Jephunneh.

56 (किंतु नगर के बीच के खेत और इसके गांव उन्होंने येफुन्‍नेह के पुत्र कालेब को दे दिए.)

57 So the descendants of Aaron were given Hebron (a city of refuge), Libnah, Jattir, Eshtemoa,

57 अहरोन के पुत्रों को उन्होंने शरण शहर दे दिए: हेब्रोन, लिबनाह और इसकी सभी चरागाह,

58 Hilen, Debir,

58 हिलेन और देबीर,

59 Ashan, Juttah, and Beth-shemesh, together with their pasturelands.

59 आशान, युताह और बेथ-शेमेश और उनकी चरागाह,

60 And from the tribe of Benjamin they were given Gibeon, Geba, Alemeth, and Anathoth, together with their pasturelands. So they had thirteen cities in all among their families.

60 तब बिन्यामिन गोत्र की सीमा से गिबियोन, इसके चरागाहों से इसके चरागाहों समेत गेबा, अलेमेथ, अनाथोथ इसके सभी उनके ये सभी नगर उनके गोत्रों के अधिकार में हमेशा ही बने रहे. ये कुल तेरह नगर थे.

61 To the rest of the Kohathites, ten cities were allotted from the half-tribe of Manasseh.

61 तब कोहाथ की शेष संतान को ये चिट्ठी डालकर बांट दिए गए. परिवार के गोत्र से, अर्धकुल से, मनश्शेह के आधे गोत्र से, दस नगर.

62 The Gershomites, according to their clans, were allotted thirteen cities from the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and Manasseh in Bashan.

62 गेरशोम के पुत्रों को उनके परिवार के अनुसार इस्साखार के गोत्र में से, आशेर के गोत्र में से, नफताली के गोत्र में से और बाशान में मनश्शेह के गोत्र में से तेरह नगर प्रदान किए गए.

63 The Merarites, according to their clans, were allotted twelve cities from the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.

63 मेरारी वंशजों को उनके कुलों के अनुसार रियूबेन के, गाद के और ज़ेबुलून के कुलों से बारह नगर बांटे गए.

64 So the Israelites gave to the Levites these cities and their pasturelands.

64 इस प्रकार इस्राएल वंशजों को वे नगर दे दिए, जिनमें चरागाह भी थे.

65 They assigned by lot the cities named above from the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.

65 यहूदाह गोत्र के कुलों से उन्होंने चिट्ठियों द्वारा शिमओन वंश के कुलों और बिन्यामिन वंश के कुलों को ये नगर, जिनका उल्लेख किया जा चुका है, दे दिए.

66 And some of the clans of the Kohathites were given cities from the tribe of Ephraim for their territory:

66 कोहाथ वंश के कुछ परिवारों के पास एफ्राईम गोत्र की सीमा में के कुछ नगर थे.

67 They were given Shechem (a city of refuge) with its pasturelands in the hill country of Ephraim, and Gezer,

68 Jokmeam, Beth-horon,

70 And from the half-tribe of Manasseh the rest of the clans of the Kohathites were given Aner and Bileam, together with their pasturelands.

71 The Gershomites received the following: From the clan of the half-tribe of Manasseh they were given Golan in Bashan and also Ashtaroth, together with their pasturelands.

72 From the tribe of Issachar they were given Kedesh, Daberath,

76 And from the tribe of Naphtali they were given Kedesh in Galilee, Hammon, and Kiriathaim, together with their pasturelands.

76 नफताली के गोत्र में से चरागाहों के साथ गलील में केदेश, चरागाहों के साथ हम्मोन और चरागाहों के साथ किरयथियों.

77 The Merarites (the rest of the Levites) received the following: From the tribe of Zebulun they were given Rimmono and Tabor, together with their pasturelands.

77 मेरारी-वंशज शेष लेवियों को: ज़ेबुलून के गोत्र में से चरागाहों के साथ रिम्मोन, चरागाहों के साथ ताबोर;

78 From the tribe of Reuben east of the Jordan opposite Jericho they were given Bezer in the wilderness, Jahzah,

79 Kedemoth, and Mephaath, together with their pasturelands.

79 चरागाहों के साथ केदेमोथ और चरागाहों के साथ मेफाअथ;

80 And from the tribe of Gad they were given Ramoth in Gilead, Mahanaim,

80 गाद के गोत्र में से चरागाहों के साथ गिलआद में रामोथ, चरागाहों के साथ माहानाईम,

81 Heshbon, and Jazer, together with their pasturelands.
