2 Chronicles 11

1 When Rehoboam arrived in Jerusalem, he mobilized the house of Judah and Benjamin—180,000 chosen warriors—to fight against Israel and restore the kingdom to Rehoboam.

1 जब रहबाम यरूशलेम को आया, तब उसने यहूदा और बिन्यामीन के घराने को जो मिलकर एक लाख अस्सी हजार अच्छे योद्धा थे इकट्ठा किया, कि इस्राएल के साथ युद्ध करे जिससे राज्य रहबाम के वश में फिर आ जाए।

2 But the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah the man of God:

2 तब यहोवा का यह वचन परमेश्वर के भक्त शमायाह के पास पहुँचा

3 “Tell Rehoboam son of Solomon king of Judah and all the Israelites in Judah and Benjamin

3 “यहूदा के राजा सुलैमान के पुत्र रहबाम से और यहूदा और बिन्यामीन के सब इस्राएलियों से कह,

4 that this is what the LORD says: ‘You are not to go up and fight against your brothers. Each of you must return home, for this is My doing.’” So they listened to the words of the LORD and turned back from going against Jeroboam.

4 ‘यहोवा यह कहता है, कि अपने भाइयों पर चढ़ाई करके युद्ध न करो। तुम अपने-अपने घर लौट जाओ, क्योंकि यह बात मेरी ही ओर से हुई है।’” यहोवा के ये वचन मानकर, वे यारोबाम पर बिना चढ़ाई किए लौट गए।

5 Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem, and he built up cities for defense in Judah.

5 रहबाम यरूशलेम में रहने लगा, और यहूदा में बचाव के लिये ये नगर दृढ़ किए,

6 He built up Bethlehem, Etam, Tekoa,

6 अर्थात् बैतलहम, एताम, तकोआ,

7 Beth-zur, Soco, Adullam,

7 बेतसूर, सोको, अदुल्लाम,

8 Gath, Mareshah, Ziph,

8 गत, मारेशा, जीप,

9 Adoraim, Lachish, Azekah,

9 अदोरैम, लाकीश, अजेका,

10 Zorah, Aijalon, and Hebron, the fortified cities in Judah and Benjamin.

10 सोरा, अय्यालोन और हेब्रोन जो यहूदा और बिन्यामीन में हैं, दृढ़ किया।

11 He strengthened their fortifications and put officers in them, with supplies of food, oil, and wine.

11 उसने दृढ़ नगरों को और भी दृढ़ करके उनमें प्रधान ठहराए, और भोजनवस्तु और तेल और दाखमधु के भण्डार रखवा दिए।

12 He also put shields and spears in all the cities and strengthened them greatly. So Judah and Benjamin belonged to him.

12 फिर एक-एक नगर में उसने ढालें और भाले रखवाकर उनको अत्यन्त दृढ़ कर दिया। यहूदा और बिन्यामीन तो उसके अधिकार में थे।

13 Moreover, the priests and Levites from all their districts throughout Israel stood with Rehoboam.

13 सारे इस्राएल के याजक और लेवीय भी अपने सारे देश से उठकर उसके पास गए।

14 For the Levites left their pasturelands and their possessions and went to Judah and Jerusalem, because Jeroboam and his sons had rejected them as priests of the LORD.

14 अतः लेवीय अपनी चराइयों और निज भूमि छोड़कर, यहूदा और यरूशलेम में आए, क्योंकि यारोबाम और उसके पुत्रों ने उनको निकाल दिया था कि वे यहोवा के लिये याजक का काम न करें,

15 And Jeroboam appointed his own priests for the high places and for the goat demons and calf idols he had made.

15 और उसने ऊँचे स्थानों और बकरा देवताओं और अपने बनाए हुए बछड़ों के लिये, अपनी ओर से याजक ठहरा लिए।

16 Those from every tribe of Israel who had set their hearts to seek the LORD their God followed the Levites to Jerusalem to sacrifice to the LORD, the God of their fathers.

16 लेवियों के बाद इस्राएल के सब गोत्रों में से जितने मन लगाकर इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा के खोजी थे वे अपने पितरों के परमेश्वर यहोवा को बलि चढ़ाने के लिये यरूशलेम को आए।

17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah and supported Rehoboam son of Solomon for three years, because they walked for three years in the way of David and Solomon.

17 उन्होंने यहूदा का राज्य स्थिर किया और सुलैमान के पुत्र रहबाम को तीन वर्ष तक दृढ़ कराया, क्योंकि तीन वर्ष तक वे दाऊद और सुलैमान की लीक पर चलते रहे।

18 And Rehoboam married Mahalath, who was the daughter of David’s son Jerimoth and of Abihail, the daughter of Jesse’s son Eliab.

18 रहबाम ने एक स्त्री से विवाह कर लिया, अर्थात् महलत से जिसका पिता दाऊद का पुत्र यरीमोत और माता यिशै के पुत्र एलीआब की बेटी अबीहैल थी।

19 She bore sons to him: Jeush, Shemariah, and Zaham.

19 उससे यूश, शेमर्याह और जाहम नामक पुत्र उत्पन्न हुए।

20 After her, he married Maacah daughter of Absalom, and she bore to him Abijah, Attai, Ziza, and Shelomith.

20 उसके बाद उसने अबशालोम की बेटी माका से विवाह कर लिया, और उससे अबिय्याह, अत्तै, जीजा और शलोमीत उत्पन्न हुए।

21 Rehoboam loved Maacah daughter of Absalom more than all his wives and concubines. In all, he had eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and he was the father of twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.

21 रहबाम ने अठारह रानियाँ ब्याह लीं और साठ रखैलियाँ रखीं, और उसके अट्ठाईस बेटे और साठ बेटियाँ उत्पन्न हुईं। अबशालोम की बेटी माका से वह अपनी सब रानियों और रखैलों से अधिक प्रेम रखता था;

22 Rehoboam appointed Abijah son of Maacah as chief prince among his brothers, intending to make him king.

22 रहबाम ने माका के बेटे अबिय्याह को मुख्य और सब भाइयों में प्रधान इस विचार से ठहरा दिया, कि उसे राजा बनाए।

23 Rehoboam also acted wisely by dispersing some of his sons throughout the districts of Judah and Benjamin, and to all the fortified cities. He gave them abundant provisions and sought many wives for them.

23 उसने समझ-बूझकर काम किया, और उसने अपने सब पुत्रों को अलग-अलग करके यहूदा और बिन्यामीन के सब देशों के सब गढ़वाले नगरों में ठहरा दिया; और उन्हें भोजनवस्तु बहुतायत से दी, और उनके लिये बहुत सी स्त्रियाँ ढूँढ़ी।
