2 Chronicles 13

1 In the eighteenth year of Jeroboam’s reign, Abijah became king of Judah,

1 यरोबोअम के शासनकाल के अठारहवें साल में अबीयाह ने यहूदिया के शासन की बागडोर अपने हाथों में ली.

2 and he reigned in Jerusalem three years. His mother’s name was Micaiah daughter of Uriel; she was from Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.

2 उसने येरूशलेम में तीन साल शासन किया. उसकी माता का नाम मीकायाह था. वह गिबियाह के उरीएल की पुत्री थी. अबीयाह और यरोबोअम के बीच युद्ध छिड़ गया.

3 Abijah went into battle with an army of 400,000 chosen men, while Jeroboam drew up in formation against him with 800,000 chosen and mighty men of valor.

3 अबीयाह ने चार लाख सबसे अच्छे वीर योद्धाओं को लेकर युद्ध शुरू किया, जबकि यरोबोअम आठ लाख वीर सैनिक लेकर युद्ध-भूमि में उतरा.

4 Then Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim in the hill country of Ephraim and said, “Hear me, O Jeroboam and all Israel!

4 तब अबीयाह ने एफ्राईम प्रदेश के सेमाराइम पहाड़ पर मोर्चा बांधा और यरोबोअम से कहा, “यरोबोअम और सारे इस्राएल ध्यान से मेरी बातें सुनो!

5 Do you not know that the LORD, the God of Israel, has given the kingship of Israel to David and his descendants forever by a covenant of salt?

5 क्या तुम्हें यह मालूम नहीं कि याहवेह इस्राएल के परमेश्वर ने नमक की वाचा के द्वारा दावीद और उनके पुत्रों को इस्राएल पर हमेशा के लिए शासन दिया है?

6 Yet Jeroboam son of Nebat, a servant of Solomon son of David, rose up and rebelled against his master.

6 यह होने पर भी नेबाथ के पुत्र यरोबोअम ने अपने स्वामी दावीद के पुत्र शलोमोन के विरुद्ध उठकर विद्रोह किया.

7 Then worthless and wicked men gathered around him to resist Rehoboam son of Solomon when he was young, inexperienced, and unable to resist them.

7 उसने अपने पास निकम्मे लोग इकट्ठा कर लिए, ऐसे नीच लोग, जो शलोमोन के पुत्र रिहोबोयाम पर प्रबल हो गए, जो कि बहुत बालक और अल्हड़ मन का था, बुरा बोलते थे. वह इनके सामने ठहर न सका.

8 And now you think you can resist the kingdom of the LORD, which is in the hands of David’s descendants. You are indeed a vast army, and you have with you the golden calves that Jeroboam made for you as gods.

8 “अब तुम लोग दावीद के पुत्रों के हाथों में सौंपे गए याहवेह के शासन का विरोध करने पर उतारू हो, सिर्फ इसलिये कि तुम गिनती में अधिक हो और तुम्हारे पास देवताओं के नाम पर सोने के ढाले हुए वे बछड़े हैं जिनको यरोबोअम ने तुम्हारे लिए इसलिये बनाया है कि तुम इन्हें देवता मान लो.

9 But did you not drive out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites? And did you not make priests for yourselves as do the peoples of other lands? Now whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams can become a priest of things that are not gods.

9 क्या यह सच नहीं कि तुम लोगों ने अहरोन के पुत्रों को जो याहवेह के पुरोहित हैं और लेवियों को हटाकर दूसरे राष्ट्रों के समान अपने लिए पुरोहित चुनकर रखे हैं? तुम तो किसी भी ऐसे व्यक्ति को पुरोहित बना देते हो, जो अपने साथ बछड़े और सात मेढ़े लेकर तुमसे उन देवताओं के पुरोहित बनने की विनती करता है, जो हकीकत में देवता ही नहीं हैं.

10 But as for us, the LORD is our God. We have not forsaken Him; the priests who minister to the LORD are sons of Aaron, and the Levites attend to their duties.

10 “मगर हमारे लिए तो याहवेह ही हमारे परमेश्वर हैं. हमने उनका त्याग नहीं किया है. अहरोन के वंशज ही याहवेह की सेवा पुरोहितों के रूप में कर रहे हैं. लेवी भी अपना ठहराया हुआ काम करने में लगे हैं.

11 Every morning and every evening they present burnt offerings and fragrant incense to the LORD. They set out the rows of showbread on the ceremonially clean table, and every evening they light the lamps of the gold lampstand. We are carrying out the requirements of the LORD our God, while you have forsaken Him.

11 हर सुबह और शाम वे याहवेह को होमबलि और सुगंधधूप चढ़ाते हैं, स्वच्छ की गई मेज़ पर भेंट की रोटी रखी जाती है और हर शाम सोने के दीवट और उनके दीप शाम को जलाए जाने के लिए तैयार रखे जाते हैं, क्योंकि हम याहवेह, हमारे परमेश्वर के आदेश का पालन करते हैं. मगर तुम लोगों ने याहवेह का त्याग कर दिया है.

12 Now behold, God Himself is with us as our head, and His priests with their trumpets sound the battle call against you. O children of Israel, do not fight against the LORD, the God of your fathers, for you will not succeed.”

12 अब यह देख लो, हमारे अगुए होकर याहवेह हमारे साथ हैं. यहां उनके पुरोहित संकेत तुरहियों के साथ तुम्हारे विरुद्ध फूंकने के लिए तैयार हैं. इस्राएल के वंशजों ने कहा कि अपने पूर्वजों के परमेश्वर याहवेह से युद्ध मत करो क्योंकि तुम इसमें सफलता नहीं पा सकोगे.”

13 Now Jeroboam had sent troops around to ambush from the rear, so that while he was in front of Judah, the ambush was behind them.

13 मगर यरोबोअम ने यहूदिया की सेना के पीछे एक घात करनेवाली टुकड़ी लगा रखी थी कि वे पीछे से हमला करें. फलस्वरूप यहूदिया की सेना के सामने इस्राएली सेना थी और पीछे घात करनेवाली टुकड़ी.

14 When Judah turned and discovered that the battle was both before and behind them, they cried out to the LORD. Then the priests blew the trumpets,

14 जब यहूदिया ने मुड़कर देखा तो पाया कि उन पर दोनों ही ओर से हमला किया जा रहा था, सामने से भी और पीछे से भी. तब उन्होंने याहवेह की दोहाई दी. पुरोहितों ने तुरही फूंकी.

15 and the men of Judah raised the battle cry. And when they raised the cry, God routed Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

15 जब यहूदिया के सैनिकों ने जय जयकार किया, परमेश्वर ने यरोबोअम और पूरी इस्राएली सेना को अबीयाह और यहूदिया के सामने हरा दिया.

16 So the Israelites fled before Judah, and God delivered them into their hands.

16 जब इस्राएली सेना यहूदिया की सेना को पीठ दिखाकर भागने लगी, परमेश्वर ने उन्हें यहूदिया के अधीन कर दिया.

17 Then Abijah and his people struck them with a mighty blow, and 500,000 chosen men of Israel fell slain.

17 अबीयाह और उसकी सेना ने घोर नरसंहार के साथ उन्हें हरा दिया. फलस्वरूप इस्राएल के पांच लाख वीर योद्धा मारे गए.

18 Thus the Israelites were subdued at that time, and the men of Judah prevailed because they relied on the LORD, the God of their fathers.

18 इस प्रकार उस दिन इस्राएल के वंशज हार गए. यहूदाह के वंशज इसलिये जीते, कि उन्होंने अपने पूर्वजों के परमेश्वर, याहवेह पर भरोसा किया था.

19 Abijah pursued Jeroboam and captured some cities from him: Bethel, Jeshanah, and Ephron, along with their villages.

19 अबीयाह ने यरोबोअम का पीछा किया और उससे अनेक नगर लेकर अपने अधिकार में कर लिए, बेथेल और उसके गांव, येशानाह और उसके गांव और एफ्रोन और उसके गांव.

20 Jeroboam did not again recover his power during the days of Abijah, and the LORD struck him down and he died.

20 अबीयाह के जीवनकाल में यरोबोअम दोबारा अपनी शक्ति इकट्ठी न कर सका. याहवेह ने उस पर वार किया और उसकी मृत्यु हो गई.

21 But Abijah grew strong, married fourteen wives, and became the father of twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.

21 मगर अबीयाह मजबूत होता गया. उसने चौदह स्त्रियों से विवाह कर लिया जिनसे बाईस पुत्र और सोलह पुत्रियां पैदा हुईं.

22 Now the rest of the acts of Abijah, along with his ways and his words, are written in the Treatise of the Prophet Iddo.

22 अबीयाह के शासनकाल का घटनाक्रम और उसके कामों और बातों का ब्यौरा भविष्यद्वक्ता इद्दो की पुस्तक में दिया गया है.
