Ezekiel 5

1 “As for you, son of man, take a sharp sword, use it as a barber’s razor, and shave your head and beard. Then take a set of scales and divide the hair.

1 “Agora, filho do homem, arranje uma espada bem afiada. Use essa espada para raspar seus cabelos e sua barba, como se ela fosse uma navalha. Use uma balança para dividir os cabelos em três partes iguais.

2 When the days of the siege have ended, you are to burn up a third of the hair inside the city; you are also to take a third and slash it with the sword all around the city; and you are to scatter a third to the wind. For I will unleash a sword behind them.

2 Coloque uma terça parte no centro do desenho da cidade. Quando terminar o cerco, queime esses cabelos. Espalhe outra terça parte em volta da cidade e corte os cabelos com a espada. Finalmente jogue a última terça parte ao vento, porque eu perseguirei o meu povo com a espada.

3 But you are to take a few strands of hair and secure them in the folds of your garment.

3 Guarde algumas mechas de cabelo da última terça parte. Prenda esses fios ao seu manto;

4 Again, take a few of these, throw them into the fire, and burn them. From there a fire will spread to the whole house of Israel.

4 depois, apanhe alguns desses fios de cabelo e lance-os ao fogo, onde serão queimados. Assim, um fogo se espalhará por toda a nação de Israel”.

5 This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘This is Jerusalem, which I have set in the center of the nations, with countries all around her.

5 Assim diz o Soberano Senhor: “Isso mostra o que vai acontecer a Jerusalém, a cidade que eu coloquei entre muitos povos.

6 But she has rebelled against My ordinances more wickedly than the nations, and against My statutes worse than the countries around her. For her people have rejected My ordinances and have not walked in My statutes.’

6 Em sua maldade ela desobedeceu às minhas leis, quebrou meus mandamentos, muito mais que os outros povos ao seu redor. Ela rejeitou as minhas leis e não guardou os meus mandamentos.

7 Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘You have been more insubordinate than the nations around you; you have not walked in My statutes or kept My ordinances, nor have you even conformed to the ordinances of the nations around you.’

7 “Portanto, assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Vocês têm se tornado mais pecadores e rebeldes do que as nações à sua volta. Vocês não obedeceram às minhas leis, nem guardaram os meus mandamentos. Vocês nem ao menos têm procedido segundo os padrões das nações ao seu redor”.

8 Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I Myself am against you, Jerusalem, and I will execute judgments among you in the sight of the nations.

8 “Por causa disso”, diz o Soberano Senhor, “eu mesmo estou contra você, Jerusalém; vou castigar você diante das nações vizinhas.

9 Because of all your abominations, I will do to you what I have never done before and will never do again.

9 Vou castigar você como nunca fiz antes, nem voltarei a fazer, por causa de seus horríveis pecados.

10 As a result, fathers among you will eat their sons, and sons will eat their fathers. I will execute judgments against you and scatter all your remnant to every wind.’

10 Os moradores de Jerusalém comerão seus próprios filhos; os filhos comerão os próprios pais. Quem escapar da destruição de Jerusalém será espalhado em todas as direções.

11 Therefore as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, because you have defiled My sanctuary with all your detestable idols and abominations, I Myself will withdraw My favor; I will not look upon you with pity, nor will I spare you.

11 “Portanto, esta é a palavra do Soberano, o Senhor: Vocês transformaram o meu templo num lugar de vergonha, adorando ídolos e fazendo sacrifícios impuros; por isso serão castigados sem dó nem piedade. Eu não os pouparei!

12 A third of your people will die by plague or be consumed by famine within you, a third will fall by the sword outside your walls, and a third I will scatter to every wind and unleash a sword behind them.

12 A terça parte dos seus moradores morrerá de fome e de doença! Outra terça parte será destruída pelo inimigo na guerra fora da cidade! E eu mesmo espalharei a última terça parte por toda a terra. Onde quer que estejam, eu os perseguirei com a espada!

13 And when My anger is spent and I have vented My wrath against them, I will be appeased. And when I have spent My wrath on them, they will know that I, the LORD, in My zeal have spoken.

13 “Depois de tudo isso, a minha ira contra eles passará, o furor da minha justiça se cumprirá. E quando tiver esgotado a minha ira sobre vocês, israelitas, saberão que eu, o Senhor, sempre cumpro o que prometo.

14 I will make you a ruin and a disgrace among the nations around you, in the sight of all who pass by.

14 “Você, Jerusalém, será completamente destruída, e a tornarei desprezível entre as nações ao seu redor, à vista de todos que passarem por você.

15 So you will be a reproach and a taunt, a warning and a horror to the nations around you, when I execute judgments against you in anger, wrath, and raging fury. I, the LORD, have spoken.

15 Você vai ser motivo de riso e zombaria para outros povos. As nações ao redor ficarão apavoradas quando eu castigar você com a minha ira e indignação. Eu, o Senhor, falei!

16 When I shower you with the deadly arrows of famine and destruction that I will send to destroy you, I will intensify the famine against you and cut off your supply of food.

16 “Farei chover sobre os seus moradores as flechas mortais da fome, para acabar com todos eles. A fome vai aumentar tanto que toda a comida vai desaparecer, até a última migalha.

17 I will send famine and wild beasts against you, and they will leave you childless. Plague and bloodshed will sweep through you, and I will bring a sword against you. I, the LORD, have spoken.”

17 E a fome não será o único castigo! Mandarei animais ferozes para matarem os seus filhos. Além disso, haverá a peste e as armas dos soldados inimigos, matando gente por todos os lados. Eu, o Senhor, falei!”
