Ezra 2

1 Now these are the people of the province who came up from the captivity of the exiles carried away to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar its king. They returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his own town,

1 وَهَؤُلاءِ هُمْ أَهْلُ الْبِلادِ الَّذِينَ عَادُوا مِنَ السَّبْيِ، مِمَّنْ سَبَاهُمْ نَبُوخَذْنَصَّرُ مَلِكُ بَابِلَ إِلَى بَابِلَ، وَرَجَعُوا إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ وَيَهُوذَا، لِيُقِيمَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ فِي مَدِينَتِهِ.

2 accompanied by Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, and Baanah. This is the count of the men of Israel:

2 وَقَدْ جَاءُوا بِقِيَادَةِ زَرُبَّابِلَ، وَيَشُوعَ، وَنَحَمْيَا، وَسَرَايَا، وَرَعْلايَا، وَمُرْدَخَايَ، وَبِلْشَانَ، وَمِسْفَارَ، وَبِغْوَايَ وَرَحُومَ، وَبَعْنَةَ. وَهَذَا بَيَانٌ بِالْعَائِدِينَ مِنْ شَعْبِ إِسْرَائِيلَ:

3 the descendants of Parosh, 2,172;

3 بَنُو فَرْعُوشَ: أَلْفَانِ وَمِئَةٌ وَاثْنَانِ وَسَبْعُونَ.

4 the descendants of Shephatiah, 372;

4 بَنُو شَفَطْيَا: ثَلاثُ مِئَةٍ وَاثْنَانِ وَسَبْعُونَ.

5 the descendants of Arah, 775;

5 بَنُو آرَحَ: سَبْعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَةٌ وَسَبْعُونَ.

6 the descendants of Pahath-moab (through the line of Jeshua and Joab), 2,812;

6 بَنُو فَحَثَ مُوآبَ مِنْ نَسْلِ يَشُوعَ وَيُوآبَ: أَلْفَانِ وَثَمَانِي مِئَةٍ وَاثْنَا عَشَرَ.

7 the descendants of Elam, 1,254;

7 بَنُو عِيلامَ: أَلْفٌ وَمِئَتَانِ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

8 the descendants of Zattu, 945;

8 بَنُو زَتُّو: تِسْعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَةٌ وَأَرْبَعُونَ.

9 the descendants of Zaccai, 760;

9 بَنُو زَكَّايَ: سَبْعُ مِئَةٍ وَسِتُّونَ.

10 the descendants of Bani, 642;

10 بَنُو بَانِي: سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَاثْنَانِ وَأَرْبَعُونَ.

11 the descendants of Bebai, 623;

11 بَنُو بَابَايَ: سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

12 the descendants of Azgad, 1,222;

12 بَنُو عَزْجَدَ: أَلْفٌ وِمِئَتَانِ وَاثْنَانِ وَعِشْرُونَ.

13 the descendants of Adonikam, 666;

13 بَنُو أَدُونِيقَامَ: سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَسِتَّةٌ وَسِتُّونَ.

14 the descendants of Bigvai, 2,056;

14 بَنُو بِغْوَايَ: أَلْفَانِ وَسِتَّةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

15 the descendants of Adin, 454;

15 بَنُو عَادِينَ: أَرْبَعُ مِئَةٍ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

16 the descendants of Ater (through Hezekiah), 98;

16 بَنُو آطِيرَ مِنْ نَسْلِ يَحَزَقِيَّا: ثَمَانِيَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ.

17 the descendants of Bezai, 323;

17 بَنُو بِيصَايَ: ثَلاثُ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

18 the descendants of Jorah, 112;

18 بَنُو يُورَةَ: مِئَةٌ وَاثْنَا عَشَرَ.

19 the descendants of Hashum, 223;

19 بَنُو حَشُومَ: مِئَتَانِ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

20 the descendants of Gibbar, 95;

20 بَنُو جِبَّارَ: خَمْسَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ. (وَقَدْ عَادَ مِنَ الْمُدُنِ التَّالِيَةِ الَّتِي عَاشَ آبَاؤُهُمْ فِيهَا):

21 the men of Bethlehem, 123;

21 مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ لَحْمٍ: مِئَةٌ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

22 the men of Netophah, 56;

22 مِنْ أَهْلِ نَطُوفَةَ: سِتَّةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

23 the men of Anathoth, 128;

23 مِنْ أَهْلِ رِجَالِ عَنَاثُوثَ: مِئَةٌ وَثَمَانِيَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

24 the descendants of Azmaveth, 42;

24 مِنْ أَهْلِ عَزْمُوتَ: اثْنَانِ وَأَرْبَعُونَ.

25 the men of Kiriath-jearim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, 743;

25 مِنْ أَهْلِ قَرْيَةِ عَارِيمَ كَفِيرَةَ وَبَئِيرُوتَ: سَبْعُ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَأَرْبَعُونَ.

26 the men of Ramah and Geba, 621;

26 مِنْ أَهْلِ الرَّامَةِ وَجَبَعَ: سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَوَاحِدٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

27 the men of Michmash, 122;

27 مِنْ أَهْلِ مِخْمَاسَ: مِئَةٌ وَاثْنَانِ وَعِشْرُونَ.

28 the men of Bethel and Ai, 223;

28 مِنْ رِجَالِ بَيْتِ إِيلَ وَعَايَ: مِئَتَانِ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

29 the descendants of Nebo, 52;

29 مِنْ أَهْلِ نَبُو: اثْنَانِ وَخَمْسُونَ.

30 the descendants of Magbish, 156;

30 مِنْ أَهْلِ مَغْبِيشَ: مِئَةٌ وَسِتَّةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

31 the descendants of the other Elam, 1,254;

31 مِنْ أَهْلِ عِيلامَ الآخَرِ: أَلْفٌ وَمِئَتَانِ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ.

32 the descendants of Harim, 320;

32 مِنْ أَهْلِ حَارِيمَ: ثَلاثُ مِئَةٍ وَعِشْرُونَ.

33 the men of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, 725;

33 مِنْ أَهَالِي لُودٍ وَحَادِيدَ وَأُونُو: سَبْعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

34 the men of Jericho, 345;

34 مِنْ أَهْلِ أَرِيحَا: ثَلاثُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَةٌ وَأَرْبَعُونَ.

35 and the descendants of Senaah, 3,630.

35 مِنْ أَهْلِ سَنَاءَةَ: ثَلاثَةُ آلافٍ وَسِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثُونَ.

36 The priests: The descendants of Jedaiah (through the house of Jeshua), 973;

36 أَمَّا الْكَهَنَةُ الرَّاجِعُونَ: فَبَنُو يَدْعِيَا مِنْ عَائِلَةِ يَشُوعَ: تِسْعُ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثَةٌ وَسَبْعُونَ.

37 the descendants of Immer, 1,052;

37 بَنُو إِمِّيرَ: أَلْفٌ وَاثْنَانِ وَخَمْسُونَ.

38 the descendants of Pashhur, 1,247;

38 بَنُو فَشْحُورَ: أَلْفٌ وَمِئَتَانِ وَسَبْعَةٌ وَأَرْبَعُونَ.

39 and the descendants of Harim, 1,017.

39 بَنُو حَارِيمَ: أَلْفٌ وَسَبْعَةَ عَشَرَ.

40 The Levites: the descendants of Jeshua and Kadmiel (through the line of Hodaviah), 74.

40 وَهَذَا بَيَانٌ بِاللَّاوِيِّينَ الْعَائِدِينَ مِنَ السَّبْيِ: بَنُو يَشُوعَ وَقَدْمِيئِيلَ مِنْ نَسْلِ هُودُويَا: أَرْبَعَةٌ وَسَبْعُونَ.

41 The singers: the descendants of Asaph, 128.

41 الْمُغَنُّونَ مِنْ بَنِي آسَافَ: مِئَةٌ وَثَمَانِيَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

42 The gatekeepers: the descendants of Shallum, the descendants of Ater, the descendants of Talmon, the descendants of Akkub, the descendants of Hatita, and the descendants of Shobai, 139 in all.

42 بَنُو حُرَّاسِ أَبْوَابِ الْهَيْكَلِ مِنْ نَسْلِ شَلُّومَ وَآطِيرَ وَطَلْمُونَ وَعَقُّوبَ وَحَطِيطَا وَشُوبَايَ: مِئَةٌ وَتِسْعَةٌ وَثَلاثُونَ.

43 The temple servants: the descendants of Ziha, the descendants of Hasupha, the descendants of Tabbaoth,

43 وَمِنْ خَدَمِ الْهَيْكَلِ بَنُو صِيحَا وَحَسُوفَا وَطَبَاعُوتَ،

44 the descendants of Keros, the descendants of Siaha, the descendants of Padon,

44 وَبَنُو قِيرُوسَ وَسِيعَهَا وَفَادُونَ،

45 the descendants of Lebanah, the descendants of Hagabah, the descendants of Akkub,

45 وَلَبَانَةَ وَحَجَابَةَ وَعَقُّوبَ،

46 the descendants of Hagab, the descendants of Shalmai, the descendants of Hanan,

46 وَحَاجَابَ وَشَمُلايَ وَحَانَانَ،

47 the descendants of Giddel, the descendants of Gahar, the descendants of Reaiah,

47 بَنُو جَدِيلَ وَحَجَرَ وَرَآيَا،

48 the descendants of Rezin, the descendants of Nekoda, the descendants of Gazzam,

48 وَرَصِينَ وَنَقُودَا وَجَزَّامَ،

49 the descendants of Uzza, the descendants of Paseah, the descendants of Besai,

49 وَعُزَّا وَفَاسِيحَ وَبِيسَايَ،

50 the descendants of Asnah, the descendants of Meunim, the descendants of Nephusim,

50 وَبَنُو أَسْنَةَ وَمَعُونِيمَ وَنَفُوسِيمَ،

51 the descendants of Bakbuk, the descendants of Hakupha, the descendants of Harhur,

51 وَبَنُو بَقْبُوقَ وَحَقُوفَا وَحَرْحُورَ،

52 the descendants of Bazluth, the descendants of Mehida, the descendants of Harsha,

52 وَبَنُو بَصْلُوتَ وَمَحِيدَا وَحَرْشَا،

53 the descendants of Barkos, the descendants of Sisera, the descendants of Temah,

53 وَبَنُو بَرْقُوسَ وَسِيسَرَا وَثَامَحَ،

54 the descendants of Neziah, and the descendants of Hatipha.

54 وَبَنُو نَصِيحَ وَحَطِيفَا.

55 The descendants of the servants of Solomon: the descendants of Sotai, the descendants of Hassophereth, the descendants of Peruda,

55 وَعَادَ مِنَ السَّبْيِ مِنْ نَسْلِ خُدَّامِ سُلَيْمَانَ بَنُو سَوْطَايَ وَهَسُّوفَرَثَ وَفَرُودَا،

56 the descendants of Jaala, the descendants of Darkon, the descendants of Giddel,

56 وَبَنُو يَعْلَةَ وَدَرْقُونَ وَجَدِّيلَ،

57 the descendants of Shephatiah, the descendants of Hattil, the descendants of Pochereth-hazzebaim, and the descendants of Ami.

57 وَشَفَطْيَا وَحَطِّيلَ وَفُوخَرَةَ الظِّبَاءِ وَآمِي.

58 The temple servants and descendants of the servants of Solomon numbered 392 in all.

58 فَكَانَتْ جُمْلَةُ الْعَائِدِينَ مِنْ خُدَّامِ الْهَيْكَلِ وَبَنِي عَبِيدِ سُلَيْمَانَ ثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ وَاثْنَيْنِ وَتِسْعِينَ.

59 The following came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addan, and Immer, but they could not prove that their families were descended from Israel:

59 وَهَذَا بَيَانٌ بِالَّذِينَ قَدِمُوا مِنْ تَلِّ مِلْحٍ وَتَلِّ حَرْشَا وَكَرُوبَ وَأَدَّانَ وَإِمِّيرَ، مِمَّنْ عَجَزُوا عَنْ إِثْبَاتِ انْتِمَاءِ عَائِلاتِهِمْ إِلَى نَسْلِ إِسْرَائِيلَ:

60 the descendants of Delaiah, the descendants of Tobiah, and the descendants of Nekoda, 652 in all.

60 بَنُو دَلايَا وَطُوبِيَّا وَنَقُودَا، وَجُمْلَتُهُمْ سِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَاثْنَانِ وَخَمْسُونَ.

61 And from among the priests: the descendants of Hobaiah, the descendants of Hakkoz, and the descendants of Barzillai (who had married a daughter of Barzillai the Gileadite and was called by their name).

61 وَمِنْ بَنِي الْكَهَنَةِ: بَنُو حَبَايَا وَهَقُّوصَ وَبَرْزِلّايَ الَّذِي تَزَوَّجَ إِحْدَى بَنَاتِ بَرْزِلّايَ الْجِلْعَادِيِّ، وَتَسَمَّى بِاسْمِهِمْ.

62 These men searched for their family records, but they could not find them and so were excluded from the priesthood as unclean.

62 وَقَدْ بَحَثَ هَؤُلاءِ عَنْ أَسْمَاءِ عَائِلاتِهِمْ فِي سِجِلَّاتِ أَنْسَابِ الْكَهَنَةِ فَلَمْ يَعْثُرُوا عَلَيْهَا فَمُنِعُوا مِنْ خِدْمَةِ الْكَهَنُوتِ،

63 The governor ordered them not to eat the most holy things until there was a priest to consult the Urim and Thummim.

63 وَحَرَّمَ عَلَيْهِمِ الْحَاكِمُ الأَكْلَ مِنْ طَعَامِ الْكَهَنَةِ إِلَى أَنْ يَحْضُرَ كَاهِنٌ يَقْدِرُ أَنْ يَسْتَخْدِمَ الأُورِيمَ وَالتُّمِّيمَ (لِيُعْلِنَ لَهُ الرَّبُّ صِحَّةَ نَسَبِهِمْ إِلَى الْكَهَنَةِ).

64 The whole assembly numbered 42,360,

64 فَكَانَ مَجْمُوعُ الرَّاجِعِينَ مِنَ السَّبْيِ: اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفاً وَثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ وَسِتِّينَ.

65 in addition to their 7,337 menservants and maidservants, as well as their 200 male and female singers.

65 فَضْلاً عَنْ عَبِيدِهِمْ وَإِمَائِهِمْ وَعَدَدُهُمْ سَبْعَةُ آلافٍ وَثَلاثُ مِئَةٍ وَسَبْعَةٌ وَثَلاثُونَ بِالإِضَافَةِ إِلَى مِئَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْمُغَنِّينَ وَالْمُغَنِّيَاتِ.

66 They had 736 horses, 245 mules,

66 وَكَانَ مَعَهُمْ مِنَ الْخَيْلِ سَبْعُ مِئَةٍ وَسِتَّةٌ وَثَلاثُونَ، وَمِنَ الْبِغَالِ مِئَتَانِ وَخَمْسَةٌ وَأَرْبَعُونَ،

67 435 camels, and 6,720 donkeys.

67 وَمِنَ الْجِمَالِ أَرْبَعُ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَةٌ وَثَلاثُونَ، وَمِنَ الْحَمِيرِ سِتَّةُ آلافٍ وَسَبْعُ مِئَةٍ وَعِشْرُونَ.

68 When they arrived at the house of the LORD in Jerusalem, some of the heads of the families gave freewill offerings to rebuild the house of God on its original site.

68 وَتَبَرَّعَ بَعْضُ رُؤَسَاءِ الْعَائِلاتِ لَدَى وُصُولِهِمْ إِلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ لِبِنَاءِ بَيْتِ الرَّبِّ فِي مَوْقِعِهِ الأَصْلِيِّ،

69 According to their ability, they gave to the treasury for this work 61,000 darics of gold, 5,000 minas of silver, and 100 priestly garments.

69 فَقَدَّمَ كُلٌّ مِنْهُمْ حَسَبَ طَاقَتِهِ لِخِزَانَةِ الْعَمَلِ، فَبَلَغَتْ تَبَرُّعَاتُهُمْ وَاحِداً وَسِتِّينَ أَلْفَ دِرْهَمٍ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ (نَحْوَ خَمْسِ مِئَةِ كِيلُو جِرَامٍ) وَخَمْسَةَ آلافٍ منّاً مِنَ الْفِضَّةِ (نَحْوَ ثَلاثَةِ أَطْنَانٍ) وَمِئَةَ قَمِيصٍ لِلْكَهَنَةِ.

70 So the priests, the Levites, the singers, the gatekeepers, and the temple servants, along with some of the people, settled in their own towns; and the rest of the Israelites settled in their towns.

70 فَاسْتَوْطَنَ الْكَهَنَةُ وَاللّاوِيُّونَ وَبَعْضُ الشَّعْبِ وَالْمُغَنُّونَ وَحُرَّاسُ أَبْوَابِ الْهَيْكَلِ وَخُدَّامُهُ فِي مُدُنِهِمِ الْخَاصَّةِ بِهِمْ. أَمَّا بَقِيَّةُ شَعْبِ إِسْرَائِيلَ فَتَوَزَّعُوا عَلَى مُدُنِهِمْ.
