Hosea 6

1 Come, let us return to the LORD. For He has torn us to pieces, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bind up our wounds.

1 “Venham, vamos voltar ao Senhor. Foi ele quem nos feriu e vai nos curar. Ele nos feriu, mas sarará nossas feridas.

2 After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His presence.

2 Em dois ou três dias, no máximo, ele nos restaurará, e nos colocará em pé, para vivermos no seu amor!

3 So let us know—let us press on to know the LORD. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the earth.

3 “Ah, precisamos muito conhecer o Senhor! Vamos nos esforçar para conhecê-lo, e ele nos responderá, tão certo quanto a manhã que vem depois da noite ou a chuva que chega com a primavera e rega a terra.

4 What shall I do with you, O Ephraim? What shall I do with you, O Judah? For your loyalty is like a morning mist, like the early dew that vanishes.

4 “Ah, Israel e Judá! O que será que vou fazer com vocês? O seu amor se desmancha como a neblina da manhã e some depressa como o orvalho.

5 Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth, and My judgments go forth like lightning.

5 Mandei meus profetas para avisar vocês do castigo. Condenei todos à morte com as palavras da minha boca, ameaçando de morte. O meu julgamento cairá sobre vocês, tão certo como o dia segue a noite.

6 For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

6 “Não quero sacrifícios: quero o seu amor. Não me interesso por suas ofertas; o que eu quero é que vocês me conheçam.

7 But they, like Adam, have transgressed the covenant; there they were unfaithful to Me.

7 “Mas, como aconteceu com Adão, vocês quebraram a aliança e foram infiéis a mim.

8 Gilead is a city of evildoers, tracked with footprints of blood.

8 Gileade é uma cidade cheia de pecadores, cheia de marcas de sangue.

9 Like raiders who lie in ambush, so does a band of priests; they murder on the way to Shechem; surely they have committed atrocities.

9 Os seus moradores são um bando de ladrões, que atacam suas vítimas à traição. Os sacerdotes formam bandos de assassinos na estrada de Siquém; além disso, praticam pecados vergonhosos.

10 In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing: Ephraim practices prostitution there, and Israel is defiled.

10 Sim, estou vendo uma coisa horrível: Israel está correndo atrás de outros ídolos e está totalmente corrompido.

11 Also for you, O Judah, a harvest is appointed, when I restore My people from captivity.

11 “Ah, Judá! Para você também há um julgamento terrível, já preparado — e eu queria tanto abençoá-lo!”
