Isaiah 45

1 This is what the LORD says to Cyrus His anointed, whose right hand I have grasped to subdue nations before him, to disarm kings, to open the doors before him, so that the gates will not be shut:

1 “Esta é a mensagem do Senhor a Ciro, o homem escolhido por Deus para conquistar muitas nações. Deus mesmo dará força a ele para tirar a autoridade dos reis; Deus mesmo abrirá para Ciro os grandes portões da Babilônia, e ninguém será capaz de fechá-los.

2 “I will go before you and level the mountains; I will break down the gates of bronze and cut through the bars of iron.

2 Eu irei à sua frente, Ciro, tornando plano o seu caminho e quebrando as portas de bronze e as barras de ferro que protegem as cidades.

3 I will give you the treasures of darkness and the riches hidden in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by name.

3 Eu vou lhe dar tesouros escondidos, riquezas secretas; assim, você vai saber que eu sou o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, que o chamou pessoalmente pelo seu nome para esta missão.

4 For the sake of Jacob My servant and Israel My chosen one, I call you by name; I have given you a title of honor, though you have not known Me.

4 Eu fiz tudo isso por causa do meu amor a Jacó, meu servo, e a Israel, meu povo escolhido. Foi por isso que o chamei pessoalmente e dei a você um nome famoso, apesar de você não me reconhecer.

5 I am the LORD, and there is no other; there is no God but Me. I will equip you for battle, though you have not known Me,

5 Eu sou o Senhor, e não há nenhum outro; não há outro Deus além de mim. Eu lhe darei toda a força necessária para conseguir a vitória, apesar de você não me conhecer.

6 so that all may know, from where the sun rises to where it sets, that there is none but Me; I am the LORD, and there is no other.

6 Eu farei isso acontecer para que todas as nações, do nascente ao poente, saibam que não há outro Deus além de mim. Eu sou o Senhor, e não há nenhum outro.

7 I form the light and create the darkness; I bring prosperity and create calamity. I, the LORD, do all these things.

7 Eu crio a luz e as trevas. Eu controlo todos os acontecimentos; promovo a paz e causo a desgraça. Eu, o Senhor, faço todas essas coisas.

8 Drip down, O heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness. Let the earth open up that salvation may sprout and righteousness spring up with it; I, the LORD, have created it.

8 “Abram-se os céus, e as nuvens façam chover justiça! Abra-se a terra, e brotem do chão a salvação e a justiça; eu, o Senhor, as criei.

9 Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker—one clay pot among many. Does the clay ask the potter, ‘What are you making?’ Does your work say, ‘He has no hands’?

9 “Aquele que luta com o seu Criador está condenado! Ele não passa de um pedaço de barro. Por acaso o barro se atreve a dizer ao oleiro: ‘O que você está fazendo?’ ou: ‘Você não sabe trabalhar’?

10 Woe to him who says to his father, ‘What have you begotten?’ or to his mother, ‘What have you brought forth?’”

10 Também está perdida a criança que, gritando, pergunta a seu pai: ‘Por que você me gerou?’, ou à sua mãe: ‘Por que você deu à luz?’

11 Thus says the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: “Concerning things to come, do you question Me about My sons, or instruct Me in the work of My hands?

11 “Assim diz o Senhor, o Santo de Israel, o Criador de Israel: ‘Que direito vocês têm de criticar o que eu faço? Podem me fazer perguntas sobre o futuro, mas não podem me dar ordens sobre como tratar vocês, meus filhos!’

12 It is I who made the earth and created man upon it. It was My hands that stretched out the heavens, and I ordained all their host.

12 Eu fiz a terra e nela criei a humanidade; com minhas próprias mãos estendi os céus e controlo todo o seu exército de estrelas.

13 I will raise up Cyrus in righteousness, and I will make all his ways straight. He will rebuild My city and set My exiles free, but not for payment or reward, says the LORD of Hosts.”

13 Eu chamei esse homem para cumprir os meus planos de justiça e eu mesmo vou orientá-lo por onde deve andar. Ele libertará o meu povo que está na escravidão e reconstruirá a minha cidade, sem exigir pagamento ou qualquer recompensa. Essa é a promessa do Senhor Todo-poderoso!

14 This is what the LORD says: “The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush, along with the Sabeans, men of stature, will come over to you and will be yours; they will trudge behind you; they will come over in chains and bow down to you. They will confess to you: ‘God is indeed with you, and there is no other; there is no other God.’”

14 “Assim diz o Senhor: As riquezas do Egito, as mercadorias da Etiópia, até os sabeus — homens muito altos e fortes — serão entregues a você, Jerusalém. Eles caminharão atrás de vocês, presos com correntes; ajoelhados, farão a vocês os seus pedidos e dirão: ‘É verdade, o único Deus que existe é o Deus de vocês!’”

15 Truly You are a God who hides Himself, O God of Israel, the Savior.

15 De fato, ó Deus de Israel, ó Salvador, o Senhor cumpre os seus planos de maneiras misteriosas.

16 They will all be put to shame and humiliated; the makers of idols will depart together in disgrace.

16 Todos os que fazem e adoram ídolos serão envergonhados e humilhados, de uma vez para sempre; serão desprezados por todos.

17 But Israel will be saved by the LORD with an everlasting salvation; you will not be put to shame or humiliated, to ages everlasting.

17 Mas Israel será salvo pelo Senhor com uma salvação eterna; o seu Deus nunca deixará que vocês fiquem envergonhados e constrangidos.

18 For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens—He is God; He formed the earth and fashioned it; He established it; He did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited: “I am the LORD, and there is no other.

18 Porque o Senhor, que criou os céus, ele é o Deus que formou a terra e colocou todas as partes do Universo em seus devidos lugares; ele, o Deus que fez a terra para ser habitada pelo homem, e não um lugar de desordem e confusão, afirma: “Eu sou o Senhor e não há nenhum outro!

19 I have not spoken in secret, from a place in a land of darkness. I did not say to the descendants of Jacob, ‘Seek Me in a wasteland.’ I, the LORD, speak the truth; I say what is right.

19 Quando eu faço promessas, elas são bem claras e não são ditas de algum lugar numa terra de trevas; e falo abertamente, para todos ouvirem. Eu não prometi aos descendentes de Israel: Procurem à toa. Eu, o Senhor, sempre falo a verdade e sempre anuncio a justiça.

20 Come, gather together, and draw near, you fugitives from the nations. Ignorant are those who carry idols of wood and pray to a god that cannot save.

20 “Vocês, nações que escaparam do poder de Ciro, reúnam-se e venham à minha presença. Os que carregam ídolos de madeira de um lado para o outro, os que fazem orações a falsos deuses que não podem salvar, são completamente ignorantes!

21 Speak up and present your case—yes, let them take counsel together. Who foretold this long ago? Who announced it from ancient times? Was it not I, the LORD? There is no other God but Me, a righteous God and Savior; there is none but Me.

21 Reúnam-se e apresentem a sua defesa! Mostrem provas de que vale a pena adorar ídolos! Quem, desde muito tempo, anunciou todas essas coisas sobre Ciro? Algum dos seus ídolos disse alguma coisa sobre isso? Somente eu, o Senhor, declarei o futuro, porque eu sou o único Deus, um Deus justo e salvador, como não existe nenhum outro!

22 Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

22 “Em qualquer lugar da terra, voltem para mim e sejam salvos, porque eu sou Deus, e não há nenhum outro.

23 By Myself I have sworn; truth has gone out from My mouth, a word that will not be revoked: Every knee will bow before Me, every tongue will swear allegiance.

23 Eu jurei por mim mesmo e não vou voltar atrás, porque eu sou justo e só falo a verdade: Diante de mim todo o joelho se dobrará e todos vão jurar que me serão fiéis.

24 Surely they will say of Me, ‘In the LORD alone are righteousness and strength.’” All who rage against Him will come to Him and be put to shame.

24 Todos vão dizer a meu respeito: ‘Somente no Senhor há justiça e força’”. Todos os que lutarem contra o Senhor comparecerão diante dele e serão envergonhados.

25 In the LORD all descendants of Israel will be justified and will exult.

25 Mas os israelitas serão justificados pelo Senhor e terão uma profunda alegria por causa dele.
