Jeremiah 49

1 Concerning the Ammonites, this is what the LORD says: “Has Israel no sons? Is he without heir? Why then has Milcom taken possession of Gad? Why have his people settled in their cities?

1 अम्मोन वंशजों के संबंध में: यह याहवेह का संदेश है: “क्या इस्राएल के पुत्र नहीं हैं? अथवा उसके कोई उत्तराधिकारी ही नहीं हैं? तब क्या हुआ कि अम्मोनी देवता मोलेक ने गाद पर अधिकार कर लिया है? तथा उसकी प्रजा इसके नगरों में जा बसी है?

2 Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will sound the battle cry against Rabbah of the Ammonites. It will become a heap of ruins, and its villages will be burned. Then Israel will drive out their dispossessors, says the LORD.

2 इसलिये यह देखना कि ऐसे दिन आ रहे हैं, कि मैं अम्मोन वंशजों के रब्बाह के विरुद्ध नरसिंगे का आवाज उत्पन्‍न करूंगा; तब यह एक निर्जन ढेर बनकर रह जाएगा, उसके आस-पास के गांवों को भस्म कर दिया जाएगा. तब इस्राएल उन्हें अपने अधीन कर लेगा, जिन्होंने उसे अधीन किया हुआ था,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.

3 Wail, O Heshbon, for Ai has been destroyed; cry out, O daughters of Rabbah! Put on sackcloth and mourn; run back and forth within your walls, for Milcom will go into exile together with his priests and officials.

3 “हेशबोन, विलाप करो, क्योंकि अय नगर नष्ट हो चुका है! रब्बाह की पुत्रियो, विलाप करो! टाट बांधकर विलाप करो; विस्मित हो इधर-उधर शहरपनाह के भीतर दौड़ती रहो, क्योंकि मोलेक बंधुआई में चला जाएगा, और उसके साथ होंगे उसके पुरोहित तथा अधिकारी.

4 Why do you boast of your valleys—your valleys so fruitful, O faithless daughter? You trust in your riches and say, ‘Who can come against me?’

4 तुम अपनी घाटियों के विषय में कितना अहंकार कर रही हो, भटकने वाली पुत्री, तुम्हारी घाटी बंद हुई जा रही है. अपनी संपदा का भरोसा करके तुम गर्व करती रही हो, ‘कौन कर सकता है मेरा सामना?’

5 Behold, I am about to bring terror upon you, declares the Lord GOD of Hosts, from all those around you. You will each be driven headlong, with no one to regather the fugitives.

5 यह देख लेना, मैं तुम पर आतंक लाने पर हूं यह आतंक तुम्हें चारों ओर से घेर लेगा,” यह सेनाओं के प्रभु याहवेह की वाणी है. मैं तुम्हारे चारों ओर के लोगों से तुम पर आतंक लाऊंगा, हर एक भागकर बिखर जाएगा, शरणार्थियों के एकत्रण के लिए कोई शेष न रहेगा.

6 Yet afterward I will restore the Ammonites from captivity,” declares the LORD.

6 “किंतु तत्पश्चात मैं अम्मोन वंशजों की समृद्धि पुनःस्थापित कर दूंगा,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.

7 Concerning Edom, this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Is there no longer wisdom in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom decayed?

7 एदोम के विषय में: सेनाओं के याहवेह की वाणी यह है: “क्या तेमान में अब बुद्धिमत्ता रह ही नहीं गई है? क्या बुद्धिमान उत्तम परामर्श रहित हो गए हैं? क्या उनकी बुद्धिमत्ता का क्षय हो चुका है?

8 Turn and run! Lie low, O dwellers of Dedan, for I will bring disaster on Esau at the time I punish him.

8 देदान वासियों, पीछे मुड़कर भाग जाओ और गहरी गुफाओं में जा छिपो, क्योंकि मैं उस पर एसाव का संकट डालने पर हूं उस समय मैं उसे दंड दूंगा.

9 If grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some gleanings? Were thieves to come in the night, would they not steal only what they wanted?

9 यदि द्राक्षा तोड़नेवाले तुम्हारे निकट आएं, क्या वे अंगूर न छोड़ेंगे? यदि चोर रात्रि में आएं, क्या वे उतना ही विनाश न करेंगे जितना उनके लिए पर्याप्‍त होगा?

10 But I will strip Esau bare; I will uncover his hiding places, and he will be unable to conceal himself. His descendants will be destroyed along with his relatives and neighbors, and he will be no more.

10 किंतु मैंने तो एसाव को विवस्त्र कर दिया है; उसके छिपने के स्थान मैंने प्रकट कर दिए हैं, अब वह स्वयं को छिपा न सकेगा. तथा उसके पड़ोसियों के साथ उसके संबंधियों, तथा उसकी संतान भी नष्ट हो गई हैं, अब वह भी न रहा.

11 Abandon your orphans; I will preserve their lives. Let your widows trust in Me.”

11 ‘अपने पितृहीनों को यहीं छोड़ दो; मैं उन्हें जीवित रखूंगा. तुम्हारी विधवाएं मुझ पर भरोसा कर सकती हैं.’”

12 For this is what the LORD says: “If those who do not deserve to drink the cup must drink it, can you possibly remain unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for you must drink it too.

12 क्योंकि याहवेह की वाणी यह है: “यह देखना, जिन्हें उस प्याले से पीने का दंड नहीं दिया गया था, निश्चयतः उससे पिएंगे और क्या तुम वह हो, जिसे पूर्णतः सहायकमुक्त छोड़ दिया जाएगा? नहीं तुम्हें सहायकमुक्त नहीं छोड़ा जाएगा, किंतु तुम निश्चयतः उस प्याले में से पियोगे.

13 For by Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, that Bozrah will become a desolation, a disgrace, a ruin, and a curse, and all her cities will be in ruins forever.”

13 क्योंकि मैंने स्वयं अपनी ही शपथ ली है,” यह याहवेह ही की वाणी है, “कि बोज़राह आतंक का, घृणा का, विध्वंस का तथा शाप का साधन बन जाएगा, इसके सभी नगर स्थायी खंडहर बनकर रह जाएंगे.”

14 I have heard a message from the LORD; an envoy has been sent to the nations: “Assemble yourselves to march against her! Rise up for battle!”

14 याहवेह द्वारा प्रगट एक संदेश मैंने सुना है; राष्ट्रों में एक प्रतिनिधि इस संदेश के साथ भेजा गया है, “तुम सब एकजुट होकर उस पर आक्रमण करो! और युद्ध के लिए तैयार हो जाओ!”

15 “For behold, I will make you small among nations, despised among men.

15 “क्योंकि तब तुम्हें बोध होगा, कि मैंने तुम्हें राष्ट्रों के मध्य लघु बना दिया है, जनसाधारण में तुच्छ कर दिया है.

16 The terror you cause and the pride of your heart have deceived you, O dwellers in the clefts of the rocks, O occupiers of the mountain summit. Though you elevate your nest like the eagle, even from there I will bring you down,” declares the LORD.

16 तुम, जो चट्टानों के मध्य निवास करते हो, तुम, जो पहाड़ियों की ऊंचाइयों को अपनाए बैठे हो, तुम्हारी भय पैदा करनेवाली छवि का कारण है, तुम्हारे हृदय में अवस्थित अहंकार, जिसने तुम्हें भ्रमित कर रखा है. यद्यपि तुम अपने घोंसले को उतनी ही ऊंचाई पर निर्मित करते हो, जितनी ऊंचाई पर गरुड़ निर्मित करते हैं, मैं तुम्हें वहां से भी नीचे उतार लाऊंगा,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.

17 “Edom will become an object of horror. All who pass by will be appalled and will scoff at all her wounds.

17 “एदोम भय का विषय हो जाएगा; इसके निकट से जाता हुआ हर एक व्यक्ति भयभीत होकर इसके घावों को देखेगा और उसका उपहास करेगा.

18 As Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown along with their neighbors,” says the LORD, “no one will dwell there; no man will abide there.

18 सोदोम, अमोराह तथा इनके निकटवर्ती क्षेत्रों के प्रलय के सदृश,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है, “कोई भी वहां निवास न करेगा; यह मनुष्यों के निवास के योग्य रह ही न जाएगा.

19 Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan to the watered pasture. For in an instant I will chase Edom from her land. Who is the chosen one I will appoint for this? For who is like Me, and who can challenge Me? What shepherd can stand against Me?”

19 “यह देखना, यरदन की झाड़ियों में से कोई सिंह सदृश निकलकर मजबूत चरवाहों पर आक्रमण कर देगा; क्योंकि मैं एक ही क्षण में उसे वहां से पलायन के लिए प्रेरित कर दूंगा तथा इस क्षेत्र पर मैं उसे नियुक्त कर दूंगा, जो इसके लिए समर्थ किया जा चुका है. कौन है मेरे तुल्य तथा किसमें क्षमता है मुझे न्यायालय में बुलाने की? इसके सिवा कौन है वह चरवाहा, जो मेरे समक्ष ठहर सकेगा?”

20 Therefore hear the plans that the LORD has drawn up against Edom and the strategies He has devised against the people of Teman: Surely the little ones of the flock will be dragged away; certainly their pasture will be made desolate because of them.

20 इसलिये अब याहवेह की उस योजना को समझ लो, जो उन्होंने एदोम के प्रति योजित की है, तथा उन लक्ष्यों को भी, जो उन्होंने तेमानवासियों के संकट के लिए निर्धारित किए हैं: इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं कि वे उन्हें खींचकर ले जाएंगे-भले ही वे भेड़-बकरियां मेमने हों; उनके कारण याहवेह उनकी चराइयों को निश्चयतः निर्जन बनाकर छोड़ेंगे.

21 At the sound of their fall the earth will quake; their cry will resound to the Red Sea.

21 उनके पतन की ध्वनि के कारण पृथ्वी कांप उठी है; यह चिल्लाहट है, इस आवाज की ध्वनि लाल सागर तक सुनी गई है.

22 Look! An eagle will soar and swoop down, spreading its wings over Bozrah. In that day the hearts of Edom’s mighty men will be like the heart of a woman in labor.

22 यह देख लेना कि याहवेह ऊंचे उड़कर गरुड़-सदृश झपट्टा मारेंगे, और अपने पंख बोज़राह के विरुद्ध फैला देंगे. तब एदोम के शूर योद्धाओं के हृदय उस दिन प्रसूता के हृदय सदृश हो जाएंगे.

23 Concerning Damascus: “Hamath and Arpad are put to shame, for they have heard a bad report; they are agitated like the sea; their anxiety cannot be calmed.

23 दमेशेक के विषय में: “हामाथ तथा अरपाद को लज्जित किया गया है, क्योंकि उन्हें संकट समाचार दिया गया है. वे हताश हो गए हैं. वहां समुद्र के सदृश अशांति है, इसे शांत करना संभव नहीं.

24 Damascus has become feeble; she has turned to flee. Panic has gripped her; anguish and pain have seized her like a woman in labor.

24 दमेशेक अब निस्सहाय रह गया है, वह मुड़कर भाग जाने पर तैयार है ओर घोर आतंक ने उसे जकड़ लिया है; पीड़ा एवं वेदना ने उसे अपने अधिकार में ले लिया है, जैसे प्रसूता को.

25 How is the city of praise not forsaken, the town that brings Me joy?

25 प्रख्यात नगर कैसे परित्यक्त नहीं छोड़ा गया, वह, जो मेरे आनंद का नगर है.

26 For her young men will fall in the streets, and all her warriors will be silenced in that day,” declares the LORD of Hosts.

26 उस नगर के जवान उसकी सड़कों पर पृथ्वी पर गिरे हुए पाए जाएंगे; उस दिन सभी योद्धा मूक कर दिए जाएंगे,” यह सेनाओं के याहवेह की वाणी है.

27 “I will set fire to the walls of Damascus; it will consume the fortresses of Ben-hadad.”

27 “मैं दमेशेक की शहरपनाहें भस्म कर दूंगा; और अग्नि बेन-हदद के गढ़-स्तम्भों को भस्म कर देगी.”

28 Concerning Kedar and the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon defeated, this is what the LORD says: “Rise up, advance against Kedar, and destroy the people of the east!

28 बाबेल के राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र द्वारा पराजय: केदार, तथा हाज़ोर के राज्यों के विषय में याहवेह की वाणी यह है: “उठो, केदार पहुंच जाओ और पूर्व के लोगों को नष्ट कर दो.

29 They will take their tents and flocks, their tent curtains and all their goods. They will take their camels for themselves. They will shout to them: ‘Terror is on every side!’

29 वे अपने शिविर तथा अपनी भेड़-बकरियां अपने साथ ले जाएंगे; वे अपने लिए अपने शिविर के पर्दे ले जाएंगे, अपनी सारी सामग्री तथा ऊंट भी. तब वे एक दूसरे से पुकार-पुकारकर कहेंगे, ‘चहुंओर आतंक व्याप्‍त है!’

30 Run! Escape quickly! Lie low, O residents of Hazor,” declares the LORD, “for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has drawn up a plan against you; he has devised a strategy against you.

30 “भागो दूर चले जाओ! हाज़ोरवासियो जाकर गहन गुफाओं में जा बसो,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है. “क्योंकि बाबेल के राजा नबूकदनेज्ज़र ने तुम्हारे विरुद्ध एक योजना रची है; तुम्हारे विरुद्ध एक युक्ति गढ़ी है.

31 Rise up, advance against a nation at ease, one that dwells securely,” declares the LORD. “They have no gates or bars; they live alone.

31 “उठकर ऐसे देश पर आक्रमण करो, जो शांति में निवास कर रहा है, जो पूर्णतः सुरक्षित है,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है, “उस नगर के न तो प्रवेश द्वार हैं और न कहीं छड़ों से उसे सुरक्षा प्रदान की गई है; वे अलग, अकेले निवास करते हैं.

32 Their camels will become plunder, and their large herds will be spoil. I will scatter to the wind in every direction those who shave their temples; I will bring calamity on them from all sides,” declares the LORD.

32 उनके ऊंट लूट सामग्री हो जाएंगे, वैसे ही उनके असंख्य पशु भी. मैं प्रचंड वायु में उन सभी को बिखरा दूंगा, जो अपने कनपटी के केश कतरते रहते हैं और उनका विनाश उन पर हर एक ओर से टूट पड़ेगा,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.

33 “Hazor will become a haunt for jackals, a desolation forever. No one will dwell there; no man will abide there.”

33 “हाज़ोर सियारों का बसेरा बन जाएगा, एक स्थायी निर्जन स्थान. कोई भी वहां निवास न करेगा; न कोई मनुष्य की सन्तति वहां पाई जाएगी.”

34 This is the word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah.

34 वह संदेश, जो याहवेह की ओर से भविष्यद्वक्ता येरेमियाह को एलाम के संबंध में यहूदिया के राजा सीदकियाहू के राज्य-काल के प्रारंभ में भेजा गया, यह है:

35 This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Behold, I will shatter Elam’s bow, the mainstay of their might.

35 सेनाओं के याहवेह की वाणी यह है: “देख लेना, मैं एलाम के धनुष को तोड़ने पर हूं, जो उनकी शक्ति का आधार है.

36 I will bring the four winds against Elam from the four corners of the heavens, and I will scatter them to all these winds. There will not be a nation to which Elam’s exiles will not go.

36 आकाश की चारों दिशाओं से मैं एलाम पर इन चारों वायुओं का प्रहार करूंगा; इससे इस राष्ट्र का अस्तित्व ही मिट जाएगा, तब ऐसा कोई राष्ट्र न रहेगा, जहां एलाम के शरणार्थी न पहुंचेंगे.

37 So I will shatter Elam before their foes, before those who seek their lives. I will bring disaster upon them, even My fierce anger,” declares the LORD. “I will send out the sword after them until I finish them off.

37 इस रीति से मैं एलाम को उसके शत्रुओं के समक्ष तितर-बितर कर दूंगा, उनके समक्ष, जो उनके प्राणों के प्यासे हैं; उनके ऊपर मैं संकट प्रभावी कर दूंगा, यह मेरा उग्र कोप होगा,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है. “उनका पीछा करने के लिए मैं तलवार भेज दूंगा, जब तक वे सभी समाप्‍त न हो जाएं.

38 I will set My throne in Elam, and destroy its king and officials,” declares the LORD.

38 तब मैं एलाम में अपना सिंहासन प्रतिष्ठित करूंगा, मैं इसके सभी राजाओं तथा उच्चाधिकारी को नष्ट कर दूंगा,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.

39 “Yet in the last days, I will restore Elam from captivity,” declares the LORD.

39 “किंतु होगा यह, कि मैं अंतिम दिनों में एलाम की समृद्धि लौटा दूंगा,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.
