Psalms 52

1 For the choirmaster. A Maskil of David. After Doeg the Edomite went to Saul and told him, “David has gone to the house of Ahimelech.” Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man? The loving devotion of God endures all day long.

1 Você se julga um grande herói, cheio de força e poder, você se alegra com o terrível crime que cometeu? Mas o amor de Deus pelo seu povo é eterno!

2 Your tongue devises destruction like a sharpened razor, O worker of deceit.

2 A sua língua é afiada como uma navalha! Assim você planeja suas maldades e pratica suas mentiras.

3 You love evil more than good, falsehood more than speaking truth. Selah

3 Para você o mal vale mais do que o bem, o errado vale mais que o certo. Você prefere mentir em lugar de falar a verdade!

4 You love every word that devours, O deceitful tongue.

4 Homem mau e mentiroso, você gosta de destruir os outros com suas palavras.

5 Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin; He will snatch you up and tear you away from your tent; He will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah

5 Por isso, Deus mesmo vai destruir você para sempre! Ele vai arrancar você de dentro de sua casa e riscará o seu nome da lembrança dos vivos.

6 The righteous will see and fear; they will mock the evildoer, saying,

6 As pessoas obedientes a Deus verão o seu fim. Isso aumentará o seu temor e dará grande alegria, e elas dirão:

7 “Look at the man who did not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his wealth and strengthened himself by destruction.”

7 “Veja só o que acontece ao homem que rejeitou a Deus como seu refúgio, confiou em suas riquezas em vez de confiar em Deus, e procurou segurança na sua própria maldade”.

8 But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in the loving devotion of God forever and ever.

8 Mas eu viverei por muito tempo ainda, protegido pelo Senhor, como uma oliveira que floresce na casa de Deus; confio no amor constante e eterno de Deus!

9 I will praise You forever, because You have done it. I will wait on Your name—for it is good—in the presence of Your saints.

9 Ó Senhor, eu o louvarei eternamente pelos seus feitos; na presença dos fiéis anunciarei o seu nome, porque o Senhor é bom.
