Zechariah 4

1 Then the angel who was speaking with me returned and woke me, as a man is awakened from his sleep.

1 Depois disso, o anjo que conversava comigo me acordou, como se eu tivesse estado dormindo.

2 “What do you see?” he asked. “I see a solid gold lampstand,” I replied, “with a bowl at the top and seven lamps on it, with seven spouts to the lamps.

2 “O que é que você está vendo agora?”, ele perguntou. Eu respondi: “Vejo um castiçal dourado, com sete lâmpadas. Acima do castiçal há um vaso de azeite que abastece as lâmpadas, deixando o azeite correr por sete tubos.

3 There are also two olive trees beside it, one on the right side of the bowl and the other on its left.”

3 E há duas oliveiras junto ao vaso, uma à direita e outra à esquerda”.

4 “What are these, my lord?” I asked the angel who was speaking with me.

4 “O que é isto, senhor?”, eu perguntei ao anjo que falava comigo, “o que significa?”

5 “Do you not know what they are?” replied the angel. “No, my lord,” I answered.

5 E o anjo perguntou: “Você não sabe mesmo?” Eu respondi: “Não, meu senhor. Não sei”.

6 So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the LORD of Hosts.

6 Então ele me disse: “Esta é a mensagem do Senhor a Zorobabel: ‘Não é pela força, nem pela violência que vocês vencerão. Será pelo meu Espírito’, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.

7 What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain. Then he will bring forth the capstone accompanied by shouts of ‘Grace, grace to it!’”

7 “Portanto, não há obstáculo, por maior que seja, que possa parar Zorobabel! Todos os obstáculos cairão diante dele, e Zorobabel colocará a pedra principal deste templo. E o povo vai gritar: ‘Só pela graça de Deus é que fizemos tudo isso!’”

8 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

8 Uma outra mensagem que recebi do Senhor dizia o seguinte:

9 “The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house, and his hands will complete it. Then you will know that the LORD of Hosts has sent me to you.

9 “Zorobabel colocou os alicerces do templo e vai completá-lo. Assim vocês vão saber que estas mensagens vieram do Senhor dos Exércitos.

10 For who has despised the day of small things? But these seven eyes of the LORD, which scan the whole earth, will rejoice when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel.”

10 “Não desprezem esse começo humilde, porque vocês se alegrarão vendo o trabalho começar, e a pedra principal nas mãos de Zorobabel”. Então ele me disse: “As sete lâmpadas do castiçal representam os olhos do Senhor que veem tudo o que se passa na terra”.

11 Then I asked the angel, “What are the two olive trees on the right and left of the lampstand?”

11 Então eu perguntei sobre as duas oliveiras que estavam junto ao castiçal,

12 And I questioned him further, “What are the two olive branches beside the two gold pipes from which the golden oil pours?”

12 e sobre os dois ramos de oliveira pelos quais corria o azeite, que caía em duas vasilhas por dois tubos dourados.

13 “Do you not know what these are?” he inquired. “No, my lord,” I replied.

13 “Você não sabe?”, perguntou ele. E eu respondi: “Não, meu senhor”.

14 So he said, “These are the two anointed ones who are standing beside the Lord of all the earth.”

14 Então ele me disse: “Eles representam os dois ungidos que o Senhor usa para cumprir a sua vontade na terra”.
