Ezekiel 11

1 Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the LORD that faces east. And there at the entrance of the gate were twenty-five men. Among them I saw Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, who were leaders of the people.

1 Então o Espírito me levantou no ar e me levou até a entrada oriental do templo do Senhor. Lá, na entrada da porta, eu vi vinte e cinco homens. No meio daquele grupo estavam Jaazanias, filho de Azur, e Pelatias, filho de Benaia, autoridades do povo.

2 And the LORD said to me, “Son of man, these are the men who plot evil and give wicked counsel in this city.

2 Enquanto eu olhava, o Senhor me disse: “Filho do homem, estes são os homens responsáveis pela desobediência dos moradores de Jerusalém. Eles aconselham o povo a fazer coisas erradas, contra a minha vontade.

3 They are saying, ‘Is not the time near to build houses? The city is the cooking pot, and we are the meat.’

3 Eles dizem ao povo: ‘Jerusalém não será destruída. Podemos construir casas e viver em paz. Estamos seguros aqui em Jerusalém, protegidos dos nossos inimigos’.

4 Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, O son of man!”

4 Por isso, filho do homem, profetize contra eles. Anuncie os castigos futuros!”

5 And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me and told me to declare that this is what the LORD says: “That is what you are thinking, O house of Israel; and I know the thoughts that arise in your minds.

5 Então o Espírito do Senhor veio sobre mim e disse: “Assim diz o Senhor: Vocês afirmam que estão seguros dentro de Jerusalém! Eu sei muito bem o que vocês estão pensando!

6 You have multiplied those you killed in this city and filled its streets with the dead.

6 Vocês cometeram crimes nesta cidade; encheram Jerusalém de sangue, e de cadáveres as ruas da cidade.

7 Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: The slain you have laid within this city are the meat, and the city is the pot; but I will remove you from it.

7 “Portanto, assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: De fato, esta cidade é uma panela e os corpos que vocês jogaram nas ruas são a carne. Mas vocês serão expulsos desta cidade.

8 You fear the sword, so I will bring the sword against you, declares the Lord GOD.

8 Vocês têm medo da guerra. Eu vou trazer a guerra até Jerusalém. Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor.

9 I will bring you out of the city and deliver you into the hands of foreigners, and I will execute judgments against you.

9 Eu arrancarei todos vocês de sua cidade, e os entregarei nas mãos do inimigo, um povo que vocês não conhecem. Eles darão a vocês o justo castigo!

10 You will fall by the sword, and I will judge you even to the borders of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

10 Vocês serão perseguidos e mortos por toda a terra de Israel. Então saberão que eu sou o Senhor!

11 The city will not be a pot for you, nor will you be the meat within it. I will judge you even to the borders of Israel.

11 Esta cidade não será uma panela para vocês, nem vocês serão carne dentro dela; vocês serão castigados em toda a terra de Israel.

12 Then you will know that I am the LORD. For you have neither followed My statutes nor practiced My ordinances, but you have conformed to the ordinances of the nations around you.”

12 Então saberão que eu sou o Senhor! Até hoje, vocês não obedeceram às minhas leis, não fizeram a minha vontade. Pelo contrário, vocês imitaram os maus costumes dos povos vizinhos”.

13 Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and cried out in a loud voice, “Oh, Lord GOD, will You bring the remnant of Israel to a complete end?”

13 Enquanto eu dizia estas palavras ao grupo, Pelatias, filho de Benaia, morreu de repente. Então eu caí ajoelhado, com o rosto junto ao chão, e perguntei gritando: “Ah, Soberano Senhor! O Senhor vai destruir os poucos israelitas que sobraram?”

14 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

14 E o Senhor me respondeu com a seguinte mensagem:

15 “Son of man, your brothers—your relatives, your fellow exiles, and the whole house of Israel—are those of whom the people of Jerusalem have said, ‘They are far away from the LORD; this land has been given to us as a possession.’

15 “Filho do homem, esse resto do povo que ficou em Jerusalém fala dos israelitas levados para a Babilônia — os seus parentes e amigos — dizendo: ‘Foi por causa da sua maldade que o Senhor os mandou embora! Agora, ele nos deu esta terra, para ser nossa propriedade!’

16 Therefore declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries to which they have gone.’

16 “Portanto, diga: Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Embora eu os tenha espalhado entre os outros povos do mundo e vocês estejam longe de sua terra natal, não se desesperem! Será por um breve período. Eu estarei junto a vocês, eu serei o seu templo no pouco tempo em que vocês ficarem longe de Israel.

17 Therefore declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you from the countries to which you have been scattered, and I will give back to you the land of Israel.’

17 “Portanto, diga: Assim diz o Soberano, o Senhor: Dentro em breve, vou reunir todos vocês, de todas as terras para onde foram levados. Vocês receberão de volta a posse da sua terra de Israel.

18 When they return to it, they will remove all its detestable things and all its abominations.

18 “Eles voltarão para lá e acabarão de uma vez por todas com todas as suas imagens nojentas e os ídolos que eu detesto.

19 And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them; I will remove their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh,

19 O povo inteiro vai ter apenas um pensamento, uma só vontade. Darei um novo espírito ao meu povo. Trocarei seus corações desobedientes e rebeldes, duros como pedra, por corações de carne, cheios de amor por mim.

20 so that they may follow My statutes, keep My ordinances, and practice them. Then they will be My people, and I will be their God.

20 Assim, vocês obedecerão às minhas leis, cumprirão as minhas ordens. Vocês serão o meu povo, e eu serei o seu Deus.

21 But as for those whose hearts pursue detestable things and abominations, I will bring their conduct down upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD.”

21 Mas esse povo que ficou em Jerusalém, que tem tanto amor pelos ídolos que eu detesto, receberá o castigo justo por todos os seus pecados!” Palavra do Soberano, o Senhor.

22 Then the cherubim, with the wheels beside them, spread their wings, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them.

22 Então os querubins levantaram voo, acompanhados pelas rodas. A glória do Senhor estava sobre a superfície brilhante acima deles.

23 And the glory of the LORD rose up from within the city and stood over the mountain east of the city.

23 A glória do Senhor subiu de onde estava, no meio da cidade, e foi parar sobre o monte que fica a leste de Jerusalém.

24 And the Spirit lifted me up and carried me back to Chaldea, to the exiles in the vision given by the Spirit of God. After the vision had gone up from me,

24 Depois disso, o Espírito de Deus me levou de volta à Babilônia, entre o povo cativo. Assim, terminou a minha visão do que estava acontecendo em Jerusalém.

25 I told the exiles everything the LORD had shown me.

25 Contei aos que estavam na Babilônia tudo aquilo que o Senhor havia me mostrado.
