Isaiah 27

1 In that day the LORD will take His sharp, great, and mighty sword, and bring judgment on Leviathan the fleeing serpent—Leviathan the coiling serpent—and He will slay the dragon of the sea.

1 Naquele dia, o Senhor castigará com a sua espada, forte e rápida, o grande monstro veloz, a serpente que anda se contorcendo; ele matará o monstro que vive no mar.

2 In that day: “Sing about a fruitful vineyard.

2 Naquele dia, o Senhor dirá: “Cantem louvores à vinha frutífera!

3 I, the LORD, am its keeper; I water it continually. I guard it night and day so no one can disturb it;

3 Eu, o Senhor, cuidarei dela pessoalmente. Vou regá-la todos os dias e a vigiarei de dia e de noite para que nenhum dos inimigos faça qualquer mal contra ela.

4 I am not angry. If only thorns and briers confronted Me, I would march and trample them, I would burn them to the ground.

4 A minha ira contra Israel já acabou. Se eu encontrar espinhos e ervas bravas prejudicando a minha vinha, eu os destruirei com fogo.

5 Or let them lay claim to My protection; let them make peace with Me—yes, let them make peace with Me.”

5 Só escapará quem se render e pedir a minha paz e a minha proteção”.

6 In the days to come, Jacob will take root. Israel will bud and blossom and fill the whole world with fruit.

6 Vai chegar o tempo em que Israel criará raízes, dará botões e flores e encherá o mundo de frutos!

7 Has the LORD struck Israel as He struck her oppressors? Was she killed like those who slayed her?

7 Por acaso Deus castigou Israel tanto quanto aos seus inimigos? Ele arrasou os inimigos, mas a Israel só deu um castigo pequeno.

8 By warfare and exile You contended with her and removed her with a fierce wind, as on the day the east wind blows.

8 Ele castigou o seu povo, levando os judeus como escravos para uma terra distante, como se tivessem sido carregados por um vento forte do leste.

9 Therefore Jacob’s guilt will be atoned for, and the full fruit of the removal of his sin will be this: When he makes all the altar stones like crushed bits of chalk, no Asherah poles or incense altars will remain standing.

9 Os pecados de Israel serão perdoados e a sua culpa tirada. Isso acontecerá quando as pedras do altar forem esmigalhadas, como se fossem pedras de cal, e quando ele destruir os falsos deuses e altares de incenso.

10 For the fortified city lies deserted—a homestead abandoned, a wilderness forsaken. There the calves graze, and there they lie down; they strip its branches bare.

10 A cidade que tinha altos muros está vazia e silenciosa, completamente abandonada, como o deserto: lá os bezerros pastam e descansam e devoram os seus ramos.

11 When its limbs are dry, they are broken off. Women come and use them for kindling; for this is a people without understanding. Therefore their Maker has no compassion on them, and their Creator shows them no favor.

11 Meu povo é como os galhos secos de uma árvore, arrancados e usados para acender fogueiras. Esse povo não entende nada. Por isso, aquele que o criou não se compadecerá dele, e aquele que o formou não lhe mostrará misericórdia.

12 In that day the LORD will thresh from the flowing Euphrates to the Wadi of Egypt, and you, O Israelites, will be gathered one by one.

12 Mas vai chegar um dia em que o Senhor vai juntar os israelitas, um por um, como grãos escolhidos aqui e ali; isso vai acontecer quando ele recolher o seu cereal, desde o rio Eufrates até a fronteira do Egito.

13 And in that day a great ram’s horn will sound, and those who were perishing in Assyria will come forth with those who were exiles in Egypt. And they will worship the LORD on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.

13 Naquele dia, vai ser tocada uma grande trombeta, e muitos israelitas que estavam perecendo na Assíria e exilados no Egito serão salvos e levados de volta a Jerusalém. Lá eles adorarão o Senhor no seu santo monte.
