Joel 3

1 “Yes, in those days and at that time, when I restore Judah and Jerusalem from captivity,

1 “Naquele tempo, quando eu devolver a Judá e Jerusalém sua antiga prosperidade, diz o Senhor,

2 I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning My people, My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations as they divided up My land.

2 ajuntarei os exércitos do mundo no ‘Vale Onde o Senhor Julga’ e castigarei os povos por maltratarem o meu povo, por terem espalhado a minha herança entre as nações e por terem repartido a minha terra.

3 They cast lots for My people; they bartered a boy for a prostitute and sold a girl for wine to drink.

3 “Eles dividiram meu povo como se fossem seus escravos: trocaram um rapaz por uma prostituta, e uma menina por vinho suficiente para se embriagarem.

4 Now what do you have against Me, O Tyre, Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Are you rendering against Me a recompense? If you retaliate against Me, I will swiftly and speedily return your recompense upon your heads.

4 Tiro e Sidom, nem tentem interferir! E vocês, cidades da Filístia, estão pensando em se vingar de mim? Cuidado porque eu também estou pronto a contra-atacar e me vingar de vocês!

5 For you took My silver and gold and carried off My finest treasures to your temples.

5 “Vocês carregaram a minha prata e o meu ouro, todos os meus preciosos tesouros, e os puseram em seus templos.

6 You sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks, to send them far from their homeland.

6 Vocês venderam o povo de Judá e o de Jerusalém aos gregos, que os levaram para longe de sua terra natal.

7 Behold, I will rouse them from the places to which you sold them; I will return your recompense upon your heads.

7 Mas eu os trarei de volta de todos aqueles lugares para os quais vocês os venderam e farei com vocês o que vocês fizeram com eles:

8 I will sell your sons and daughters into the hands of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans—to a distant nation.” Indeed, the LORD has spoken.

8 venderei seus filhos e filhas ao povo de Judá, e ele os venderá aos sabeus, uma nação muito distante”. Assim diz o Senhor.

9 Proclaim this among the nations: “Prepare for war; rouse the mighty men; let all the men of war advance and attack!

9 Anunciem isso em toda parte: Preparem-se para a guerra! Convoquem seus melhores soldados! Ajuntem todos os seus exércitos. Aproximem-se e ataquem.

10 Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weak say, ‘I am strong!’

10 Derretam os seus arados, façam deles espadas, e transformem suas foices em lanças. Que até os fracos digam: “Eu sou forte!”

11 Come quickly, all you surrounding nations, and gather yourselves. Bring down Your mighty ones, O LORD.

11 Ajuntem-se e venham, nações de todo o mundo! E agora, ó Senhor, envie os seus guerreiros!

12 Let the nations be roused and advance to the Valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit down to judge all the nations on every side.

12 “Despertem, ó nações; que venham ao vale de Josafá, porque ali me assentarei para julgar todas as nações vizinhas.

13 Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, trample the grapes, for the winepress is full; the wine vats overflow because their wickedness is great.

13 A foice deve cumprir sua tarefa; a colheita está madura. Venham, pisem o tanque de espremer uvas, pois ele está cheio até às bordas com a perversidade dessas nações!”

14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the Day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

14 Multidões, multidões esperando no vale pela sua sentença no julgamento! O dia do Senhor está perto, no vale do Julgamento.

15 The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will no longer shine.

15 O Sol e a Lua escurecerão, e as estrelas não brilharão mais.

16 The LORD will roar from Zion and raise His voice from Jerusalem; heaven and earth will tremble. But the LORD will be a refuge for His people, a stronghold for the people of Israel.

16 O Senhor rugirá de Sião e de Jerusalém levantará a sua voz, e a terra e o céu começarão a tremer. Mas o Senhor é um refúgio para o seu povo e uma força para Israel.

17 Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who dwells in Zion, My holy mountain. Jerusalem will be holy, never again to be overrun by foreigners.

17 “Então vocês saberão que eu sou o Senhor, o seu Deus, em Sião, meu monte santo. Jerusalém será minha para sempre; virá o tempo em que nenhum exército estrangeiro a conquistará.

18 And in that day the mountains will drip with sweet wine, and the hills will flow with milk. All the streams of Judah will run with water, and a spring will flow from the house of the LORD to water the Valley of Acacias.

18 Um vinho doce escorrerá das montanhas, e o leite vai correr dos morros. A água correrá nos leitos secos dos rios de Judá. Uma fonte nascerá no templo do Senhor para regar o vale das Acácias.

19 Egypt will become desolate, and Edom a desert wasteland, because of the violence done to the people of Judah, in whose land they shed innocent blood.

19 O Egito será destruído, e Edom se tornará um deserto desolado, por causa da violência contra o povo de Judá, pois derramaram sangue inocente.

20 But Judah will be inhabited forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.

20 Judá, porém, prosperará para sempre, e Jerusalém, por todas as gerações.

21 For I will avenge their blood, which I have not yet avenged.” For the LORD dwells in Zion.

21 “Eu vingarei o sangue do meu povo; não me esquecerei da culpa dos que os maltrataram, pois Jerusalém é o meu lar, junto com o meu povo”.
