Joshua 13

1 Now Joshua was old and well along in years, and the LORD said to him, “You are old and well along in years, but very much of the land remains to be possessed.

1 Quando Josué era já bastante idoso, o Senhor lhe disse: “Você está ficando velho, e ainda falta conquistar muita terra.

2 This is the land that remains: All the territory of the Philistines and the Geshurites,

2 “Esta é a terra que resta: todo o território dos filisteus e dos gesuritas;

3 from the Shihor east of Egypt to the territory of Ekron on the north (considered to be Canaanite territory)—that of the five Philistine rulers of Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron, as well as that of the Avvites;

3 as terras hoje pertencentes aos cananeus, desde o rio que forma divisa com o Egito, até a fronteira sul de Ecrom; as cinco cidades dos governantes filisteus: Gaza, Asdode, Ascalom, Gate e Ecrom;

4 to the south, all the land of the Canaanites, from Mearah of the Sidonians to Aphek, as far as the border of the Amorites;

4 o território dos aveus ao sul; ao norte, todo o território dos cananeus, incluindo Meara, pertencente aos sidônios, estendendo-se rumo ao norte até Afeque, na fronteira com os amorreus;

5 the land of the Gebalites; and all Lebanon to the east, from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo-hamath.

5 as terras dos gibleus, na faixa costeira, e todo o Líbano, para o leste, desde Baal-Gade, ao pé do monte Hermom, no sul, até a entrada de Lebo-Hamate, ao norte;

6 All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim—all the Sidonians—I Myself will drive out before the Israelites. Be sure to divide it by lot as an inheritance to Israel, as I have commanded you.

6 e todo o território montanhoso que vai desde o Líbano até Misrefote-Maim, contando o território dos sidônios. Eu mesmo vou lançar esses povos para longe da nação de Israel!

7 Now therefore divide this land as an inheritance to the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh.”

7 Portanto, ao repartir o território às nove tribos e à meia tribo de Manassés, de acordo com o que ordenei, inclua esses territórios”.

8 The other half of Manasseh, along with the Reubenites and Gadites, had received the inheritance Moses had given them beyond the Jordan to the east, just as Moses the servant of the LORD had assigned to them:

8 A outra metade da tribo de Manassés, e as tribos de Rúben e de Gade, já tinham recebido a herança delas a leste do Jordão, pois Moisés, servo do Senhor, havia destinado aquela terra para esses israelitas.

9 The area from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Valley, along with the city in the middle of the valley, the whole plateau of Medeba as far as Dibon,

9 Esse território estendia-se desde Aroer, na beira do rio Arnom, incluindo a cidade situada no vale, passando pelo planalto de Medeba, até Dibom,

10 and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the border of the Ammonites;

10 e todas as cidades de Seom, rei dos amorreus que reinou em Hesbom, e prosseguia até as fronteiras de Amom.

11 also Gilead and the territory of the Geshurites and Maacathites, all of Mount Hermon, and all Bashan as far as Salecah—

11 Incluía Gileade, o território dos gesuritas e dos maacatitas; toda a região do monte Hermom e toda a Basã, até a cidade de Salcá,

12 the whole kingdom of Og in Bashan, who had reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei and had remained as a remnant of the Rephaim. Moses had struck them down and dispossessed them,

12 ou seja, todo o reino de Ogue, em Basã, que tinha reinado em Astarote e em Edrei. Ele foi um dos últimos refains sobreviventes, pois Moisés tinha atacado e expulsado aqueles gigantes e tomado suas terras.

13 but the Israelites did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maacathites. So Geshur and Maacath dwell among the Israelites to this day.

13 Mas o povo de Israel não tinha expulsado os gesuritas nem os maacatitas, os quais vivem entre os israelitas até o dia de hoje.

14 To the tribe of Levi, however, Moses had given no inheritance. The food offerings to the LORD, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, just as He had promised them.

14 Moisés não tinha dado nenhum território à tribo de Levi; em vez disso, ficaram tendo direito às ofertas preparadas no fogo ao Senhor, o Deus de Israel, como herança deles, como já havia dito.

15 This is what Moses had given to the clans of the tribe of Reuben:

15 Moisés tinha dado a seguinte área à tribo de Rúben, de acordo com seus grupos de famílias:

16 The territory from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Valley, along with the city in the middle of the valley, to the whole plateau beyond Medeba,

16 Desde Aroer, na beira do vale do rio Arnom, com a cidade de Arnom situada no meio do vale, até além do planalto, próximo de Medeba.

17 to Heshbon and all its cities on the plateau, including Dibon, Bamoth-baal, Beth-baal-meon,

17 Incluía Hesbom e outras cidades da planície — Dibom, Bamote-Baal, Bete-Baal-Meom,

18 Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,

18 Jaza, Quedemote, Mefaate,

19 Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth-shahar on the hill in the valley,

19 Quiriataim, Sibma, Zerete-Saar na encosta do vale,

20 Beth-peor, the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth—

20 Bete-Peor, Bete-Jesimote e as encostas do monte Pisga.

21 all the cities of the plateau and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon until Moses killed him and the chiefs of Midian (Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba), the princes of Sihon who lived in the land.

21 As terras de Rúben incluíam também as cidades do planalto e o reino de Seom. Seom era o rei que vivia em Hesbom e que foi morto por Moisés juntamente com os outros líderes de Midiã — Evi, Requém, Zur, Hur e Reba — aliados de Seom, moradores daquela terra.

22 The Israelites also killed the diviner Balaam son of Beor along with the others they put to the sword.

22 Os israelitas também mataram com a espada o adivinho Balaão, filho de Beor, além de outros.

23 And the border of the Reubenites was the bank of the Jordan. This was the inheritance of the clans of the Reubenites, including the cities and villages.

23 A fronteira ocidental de Rúben era demarcada pelo rio Jordão. Dentro desses limites os grupos de famílias da tribo de Rúben estabeleceram cidades e aldeias.

24 This is what Moses had given to the clans of the tribe of Gad:

24 A extensão do território destinado por Moisés à tribo de Gade, de acordo com os grupos de famílias, foi a seguinte:

25 The territory of Jazer, all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites as far as Aroer, near Rabbah;

25 O território de Jazar, todas as cidades de Gileade, e a metade do território de Amom até Aroer perto de Rabá.

26 the territory from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the border of Debir;

26 Estendia-se também desde Hesbom até Ramate-Mispá e Betonim, e desde Maanaim até a fronteira de Debir.

27 and in the valley, Beth-haram, Beth-nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, with the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon (the territory on the east side of the Jordan up to the edge of the Sea of Chinnereth).

27 No vale do Jordão incluía Bete-Arã, Bete-Nimra, Sucote, Zafom e o restante dos domínios do rei Seom, de Hesbom. A linha da fronteira ocidental era o rio Jordão, indo até o mar da Galileia.

28 This was the inheritance of the clans of the Gadites, including the cities and villages.

28 Essa região com suas cidades e aldeias é a herança dos filhos de Gade, segundo os grupos de famílias.

29 This is what Moses had given to the clans of the half-tribe of Manasseh, that is, to half the tribe of the descendants of Manasseh:

29 Moisés destinou o seguinte território à meia tribo de Manassés, de acordo com os grupos de famílias:

30 The territory from Mahanaim through all Bashan—all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, including all the towns of Jair that are in Bashan, sixty cities;

30 O seu território estendia-se para o norte desde Maanaim. Incluía toda a Basã, reino que fora de Ogue, e as sessenta cidades de Jair em Basã.

31 half of Gilead; and Ashtaroth and Edrei, the royal cities of Og in Bashan. All this was for the clans of the descendants of Machir son of Manasseh, that is, half of the descendants of Machir.

31 Metade de Gileade e das capitais reais de Asterote e Edrei, cidades do reino de Ogue, em Basã, foi dada à metade do grupo de famílias chefiadas por Maquir, filho de Manassés.

32 These were the portions Moses had given them on the plains of Moab beyond the Jordan, east of Jericho.

32 Foi assim que Moisés repartiu a terra a leste do rio Jordão nas planícies de Moabe quando o povo acampou a leste de Jericó.

33 To the tribe of Levi, however, Moses had given no inheritance. The LORD, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, just as He had promised them.

33 Mas Moisés não deu nenhum território como herança à tribo de Levi, pois, como ele explicou, o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, era a herança de Levi, como já havia dito.
