Lamentations 3

1 I am the man who has seen affliction under the rod of God’s wrath.

1 उसके रोष की छड़ी से दुःख भोगनेवाला पुरुष मैं ही हूँ;

2 He has driven me away and made me walk in darkness instead of light.

2 वह मुझे ले जाकर उजियाले में नहीं, अंधियारे ही में चलाता है;

3 Indeed, He keeps turning His hand against me all day long.

3 उसका हाथ दिन भर मेरे ही विरुद्ध उठता रहता है।

4 He has worn away my flesh and skin; He has shattered my bones.

4 उसने मेरा माँस और चमड़ा गला दिया है, और मेरी हड्डियों को तोड़ दिया है;

5 He has besieged me and surrounded me with bitterness and hardship.

5 उसने मुझे रोकने के लिये किला बनाया, और मुझ को कठिन दुःख और श्रम से घेरा है;

6 He has made me dwell in darkness like those dead for ages.

6 उसने मुझे बहुत दिन के मरे हुए लोगों के समान अंधेरे स्थानों में बसा दिया है।

7 He has walled me in so I cannot escape; He has weighed me down with chains.

7 मेरे चारों ओर उसने बाड़ा बाँधा है कि मैं निकल नहीं सकता; उसने मुझे भारी साँकल से जकड़ा है;

8 Even when I cry out and plead for help, He shuts out my prayer.

8 मैं चिल्ला-चिल्ला के दुहाई देता हूँ, तो भी वह मेरी प्रार्थना नहीं सुनता;

9 He has barred my ways with cut stones; He has made my paths crooked.

9 मेरे मार्गों को उसने गढ़े हुए पत्थरों से रोक रखा है, मेरी डगरों को उसने टेढ़ी कर दिया है।

10 He is a bear lying in wait, a lion hiding in ambush.

10 वह मेरे लिये घात में बैठे हुए रीछ और घात लगाए हुए सिंह के समान है;

11 He forced me off my path and tore me to pieces; He left me without help.

11 उसने मुझे मेरे मार्गों से भुला दिया, और मुझे फाड़ डाला; उसने मुझ को उजाड़ दिया है।

12 He bent His bow and set me as the target for His arrow.

12 उसने धनुष चढ़ाकर मुझे अपने तीर का निशाना बनाया है।

13 He pierced my kidneys with His arrows.

13 उसने अपनी तीरों से मेरे हृदय को बेध दिया है;

14 I am a laughingstock to all my people; they mock me in song all day long.

14 सब लोग मुझ पर हँसते हैं और दिन भर मुझ पर ढालकर गीत गाते हैं,

15 He has filled me with bitterness; He has intoxicated me with wormwood.

15 उसने मुझे कठिन दुःख से भर दिया, और नागदौना पिलाकर तृप्त किया है।

16 He has ground my teeth with gravel and trampled me in the dust.

16 उसने मेरे दाँतों को कंकड़ से तोड़ डाला, और मुझे राख से ढाँप दिया है;

17 My soul has been deprived of peace; I have forgotten what prosperity is.

17 और मुझ को मन से उतारकर कुशल से रहित किया है; मैं कल्याण भूल गया हूँ;

18 So I say, “My strength has perished, along with my hope from the LORD.”

18 इसलिए मैंने कहा, “मेरा बल नष्ट हुआ, और मेरी आशा जो यहोवा पर थी, वह टूट गई है।”

19 Remember my affliction and wandering, the wormwood and the gall.

19 मेरा दुःख और मारा-मारा फिरना, मेरा नागदौने और विष का पीना स्मरण कर!

20 Surely my soul remembers and is humbled within me.

20 मैं उन्हीं पर सोचता रहता हूँ, इससे मेरा प्राण ढला जाता है।

21 Yet I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope:

21 परन्तु मैं यह स्मरण करता हूँ, इसलिए मुझे आशा है:

22 Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail.

22 हम मिट नहीं गए; यह यहोवा की महाकरुणा का फल है, क्योंकि उसकी दया अमर है।

23 They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!

23 प्रति भोर वह नई होती रहती है; तेरी सच्चाई महान है।

24 “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.”

24 मेरे मन ने कहा, “यहोवा मेरा भाग है, इस कारण मैं उसमें आशा रखूँगा।”

25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.

25 जो यहोवा की बाट जोहते और उसके पास जाते हैं, उनके लिये यहोवा भला है।

26 It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.

26 यहोवा से उद्धार पाने की आशा रखकर चुपचाप रहना भला है।

27 It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is still young.

27 पुरुष के लिये जवानी में जूआ उठाना भला है।

28 Let him sit alone in silence, for the LORD has laid it upon him.

28 वह यह जानकर अकेला चुपचाप रहे, कि परमेश्वर ही ने उस पर यह बोझ डाला है;

29 Let him bury his face in the dust—perhaps there is still hope.

29 वह अपना मुँह धूल में रखे, क्या जाने इसमें कुछ आशा हो;

30 Let him offer his cheek to the one who would strike him; let him be filled with reproach.

30 वह अपना गाल अपने मारनेवाले की ओर फेरे, और नामधराई सहता रहे।

31 For the Lord will not cast us off forever.

31 क्योंकि प्रभु मन से सर्वदा उतारे नहीं रहता,

32 Even if He causes grief, He will show compassion according to His abundant loving devotion.

32 चाहे वह दुःख भी दे, तो भी अपनी करुणा की बहुतायत के कारण वह दया भी करता है;

33 For He does not willingly afflict or grieve the sons of men.

33 क्योंकि वह मनुष्यों को अपने मन से न तो दबाता है और न दुःख देता है।

34 To crush underfoot all the prisoners of the land,

34 पृथ्वी भर के बन्दियों को पाँव के तले दलित करना,

35 to deny a man justice before the Most High,

35 किसी पुरुष का हक़ परमप्रधान के सामने मारना,

36 to subvert a man in his lawsuit—of these the Lord does not approve.

36 और किसी मनुष्य का मुकद्दमा बिगाड़ना, इन तीन कामों को यहोवा देख नहीं सकता।

37 Who has spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has ordained it?

37 यदि यहोवा ने आज्ञा न दी हो, तब कौन है कि वचन कहे और वह पूरा हो जाए?

38 Do not both adversity and good come from the mouth of the Most High?

38 विपत्ति और कल्याण, क्या दोनों परमप्रधान की आज्ञा से नहीं होते?

39 Why should any mortal man complain, in view of his sins?

39 इसलिए जीवित मनुष्य क्यों कुड़कुड़ाए? और पुरुष अपने पाप के दण्ड को क्यों बुरा माने?

40 Let us examine and test our ways, and turn back to the LORD.

40 हम अपने चाल चलन को ध्यान से परखें, और यहोवा की ओर फिरें!

41 Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven:

41 हम स्वर्ग में वास करनेवाले परमेश्वर की ओर मन लगाएँ और हाथ फैलाएँ और कहें:

42 “We have sinned and rebelled; You have not forgiven.”

42 “हमने तो अपराध और बलवा किया है, और तूने क्षमा नहीं किया।

43 You have covered Yourself in anger and pursued us; You have killed without pity.

43 तेरा कोप हम पर है, तू हमारे पीछे पड़ा है, तूने बिना तरस खाए घात किया है।

44 You have covered Yourself with a cloud that no prayer can pass through.

44 तूने अपने को मेघ से घेर लिया है कि तुझ तक प्रार्थना न पहुँच सके।

45 You have made us scum and refuse among the nations.

45 तूने हमको जाति-जाति के लोगों के बीच में कूड़ा-करकट सा ठहराया है। (1 कुरि. 4:13)

46 All our enemies open their mouths against us.

46 हमारे सब शत्रुओं ने हम पर अपना-अपना मुँह फैलाया है;

47 Panic and pitfall have come upon us—devastation and destruction.

47 भय और गड्ढा, उजाड़ और विनाश, हम पर आ पड़े हैं;

48 Streams of tears flow from my eyes over the destruction of the daughter of my people.

48 मेरी आँखों से मेरी प्रजा की पुत्री के विनाश के कारण जल की धाराएँ बह रही है।

49 My eyes overflow unceasingly, without relief,

49 मेरी आँख से लगातार आँसू बहते रहेंगे,

50 until the LORD looks down from heaven and sees.

50 जब तक यहोवा स्वर्ग से मेरी ओर न देखे;

51 My eyes bring grief to my soul because of all the daughters of my city.

51 अपनी नगरी की सब स्त्रियों का हाल देखने पर मेरा दुःख बढ़ता है।

52 Without cause my enemies hunted me like a bird.

52 जो व्यर्थ मेरे शत्रु बने हैं, उन्होंने निर्दयता से चिड़िया के समान मेरा आहेर किया है; (भज. 35:7)

53 They dropped me alive into a pit and cast stones upon me.

53 उन्होंने मुझे गड्ढे में डालकर मेरे जीवन का अन्त करने के लिये मेरे ऊपर पत्थर लुढ़काए हैं;

54 The waters flowed over my head, and I thought I was going to die.

54 मेरे सिर पर से जल बह गया, मैंने कहा, ‘मैं अब नाश हो गया।’

55 I called on Your name, O LORD, out of the depths of the Pit.

55 हे यहोवा, गहरे गड्ढे में से मैंने तुझ से प्रार्थना की;

56 You heard my plea: “Do not ignore my cry for relief.”

56 तूने मेरी सुनी कि जो दुहाई देकर मैं चिल्लाता हूँ उससे कान न फेर ले!

57 You drew near when I called on You; You said, “Do not be afraid.”

57 जब मैंने तुझे पुकारा, तब तूने मुझसे कहा, ‘मत डर!’

58 You defend my cause, O Lord; You redeem my life.

58 हे यहोवा, तूने मेरा मुकद्दमा लड़कर मेरा प्राण बचा लिया है।

59 You have seen, O LORD, the wrong done to me; vindicate my cause!

59 हे यहोवा, जो अन्याय मुझ पर हुआ है उसे तूने देखा है; तू मेरा न्याय चुका।

60 You have seen all their malice, all their plots against me.

60 जो बदला उन्होंने मुझसे लिया, और जो कल्पनाएँ मेरे विरुद्ध की, उन्हें भी तूने देखा है।

61 O LORD, You have heard their insults, all their plots against me—

61 हे यहोवा, जो कल्पनाएँ और निन्दा वे मेरे विरुद्ध करते हैं, वे भी तूने सुनी हैं।

62 the slander and murmuring of my assailants against me all day long.

62 मेरे विरोधियों के वचन, और जो कुछ भी वे मेरे विरुद्ध लगातार सोचते हैं, उन्हें तू जानता है।

63 When they sit and when they rise, see how they mock me in song.

63 उनका उठना-बैठना ध्यान से देख; वे मुझ पर लगते हुए गीत गाते हैं।

64 You will pay them back what they deserve, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.

64 हे यहोवा, तू उनके कामों के अनुसार उनको बदला देगा।

65 Put a veil of anguish over their hearts; may Your curse be upon them!

65 तू उनका मन सुन्न कर देगा; तेरा श्राप उन पर होगा।

66 You will pursue them in anger and exterminate them from under Your heavens, O LORD.

66 हे यहोवा, तू अपने कोप से उनको खदेड़-खदेड़कर धरती पर से नाश कर देगा।”
