Jesus began to speak first to His disciples: “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. | KJV 1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. |
| BSB 2 There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, and nothing hidden that will not be made known. | KJV 2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. |
| BSB 3 What you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the housetops. | KJV 3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. |
| BSB 4 I tell you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. | KJV 4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. |
| BSB 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear the One who, after you have been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear Him! | KJV 5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. |

| BSB 8 I tell you, everyone who confesses Me before men, the Son of Man will also confess him before the angels of God. | KJV 8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: |
| BSB 9 But whoever denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God. | KJV 9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. |
| BSB 10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. | KJV 10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. |
| BSB 11 When you are brought before synagogues, rulers, and authorities, do not worry about how to defend yourselves or what to say. | KJV 11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: |

| BSB 13 Someone in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” | KJV 13 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. |
| BSB 14 But Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed Me judge or executor between you?” | KJV 14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? |
| BSB 15 And He said to them, “Watch out! Guard yourselves against every form of greed, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” | KJV 15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. |
| BSB 16 Then He told them a parable: “The ground of a certain rich man produced an abundance. | KJV 16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: |

| BSB 38 Even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night and finds them alert, those servants will be blessed. | KJV 38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. |
| BSB 39 But understand this: If the homeowner had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. | KJV 39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. |
