Psalms 104

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty.

1 Louvarei o Senhor de todo o meu coração, dizendo: Ó Senhor, meu Deus, o Senhor é grandioso! Suas vestes são a glória e o poder real;

2 He wraps Himself in light as with a garment; He stretches out the heavens like a tent,

2 seu manto é envolto de luz. Ele estende os céus como se fossem uma tenda.

3 laying the beams of His chambers in the waters above, making the clouds His chariot, walking on the wings of the wind.

3 O telhado de sua casa foi construído sobre as nuvens carregadas de chuva. As nuvens são as suas carruagens, e ele cavalga nas asas do vento.

4 He makes the winds His messengers, flames of fire His servants.

4 Dá aos seus anjos a rapidez dos ventos e faz dos seus servos clarões reluzentes.

5 He set the earth on its foundations, never to be moved.

5 Colocou os alicerces da terra para que ela nunca seja tirada de seu lugar.

6 You covered it with the deep like a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.

6 Vestiu a terra com os mares e oceanos, como se fosse uma capa, deixando grandes montanhas debaixo d’água.

7 At Your rebuke the waters fled; at the sound of Your thunder they hurried away—

7 Mas, ouvindo a sua ordem, as águas baixaram; ouvindo a sua voz, forte como um trovão, elas ocuparam o seu lugar;

8 the mountains rose and the valleys sank to the place You assigned for them—

8 as águas correram pelos montes e escorreram pelos vales, até ficarem no lugar determinado pelo Senhor.

9 You set a boundary they cannot cross, that they may never again cover the earth.

9 O Senhor marcou um limite além do qual as águas não podem ir; assim, elas nunca mais cobrirão a terra.

10 He sends forth springs in the valleys; they flow between the mountains.

10 Faz brotar as fontes de água nos vales e os rios que correm entre os montes

11 They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst.

11 e matam a sede dos animais do campo e dos jumentos selvagens.

12 The birds of the air nest beside the springs; they sing among the branches.

12 Junto a esses riachos os passarinhos do céu fazem os seus ninhos e cantam entre os ramos das árvores.

13 He waters the mountains from His chambers; the earth is satisfied by the fruit of His works.

13 Do alto da sua morada rega os montes; a terra sacia-se com o fruto das suas obras!

14 He makes the grass grow for the livestock and provides crops for man to cultivate, bringing forth food from the earth:

14 É o Senhor que faz crescer o pasto que alimenta o gado, as plantas que o homem cultiva, e dessa forma tira da terra o seu alimento.

15 wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil that makes his face to shine, and bread that sustains his heart.

15 A terra produz o vinho, que alegra o coração do homem; o azeite, que serve para cuidar do rosto; o pão, que dá forças para viver.

16 The trees of the LORD have their fill, the cedars of Lebanon that He planted,

16 As árvores do Senhor são bem regadas, crescem e ficam fortes. O mesmo acontece com os cedros do Líbano, que ele plantou.

17 where the birds build their nests; the stork makes her home in the cypresses.

17 Nessas árvores as aves fazem seus ninhos. As cegonhas fazem seus ninhos nos ciprestes.

18 The high mountains are for the wild goats, the cliffs a refuge for the rock badgers.

18 As cabras selvagens vivem no alto dos montes e os coelhos fazem suas tocas entre as pedras.

19 He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows when to set.

19 O Senhor criou a lua para marcar as estações, e o sol sabe a hora de se pôr.

20 You bring darkness, and it becomes night, when all the beasts of the forest prowl.

20 O Senhor prepara a escuridão e cria a noite, quando os animais da floresta saem.

21 The young lions roar for their prey and seek their food from God.

21 Os leões jovens saem à procura do alimento que Deus preparou para eles e andam rugindo pela mata.

22 The sun rises, and they withdraw; they lie down in their dens.

22 Quando o sol aparece, eles voltam às suas tocas para dormir.

23 Man goes forth to his work and to his labor until evening.

23 Então o homem sai para o seu trabalho até o pôr-do-sol.

24 How many are Your works, O LORD! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your creatures.

24 Ó Senhor, quantas são as suas obras! O Senhor fez todas elas com grande sabedoria e enche a terra com as suas criaturas!

25 Here is the sea, vast and wide, teeming with creatures beyond number, living things both great and small.

25 Vejo o mar imenso, cheio das mais variadas formas de vida — animais pequenos e grandes.

26 There the ships pass, and Leviathan, which You formed to frolic there.

26 Por ele passam os navios e também o Leviatã, criado para o Senhor nele se alegrar.

27 All creatures look to You to give them their food in due season.

27 Todos esses animais dependem do Senhor para receber seu alimento na ocasião certa.

28 When You give it to them, they gather it up; when You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good things.

28 O Senhor oferece o alimento, e eles recolhem o seu sustento; abre a sua mão e todas as criaturas ficam satisfeitas e felizes.

29 When You hide Your face, they are terrified; when You take away their breath, they die and return to dust.

29 Mas quando o Senhor esconde o seu rosto, ficam completamente desorientadas. Se tira o fôlego, eles morrem e voltam ao pó da terra!

30 When You send Your Spirit, they are created, and You renew the face of the earth.

30 Quando sopra o seu fôlego, novos seres são criados para manter esta terra sempre cheia de vida.

31 May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in His works.

31 Deem glória ao Senhor para sempre! Assim o Senhor se alegrará com aquilo que fez!

32 He looks on the earth, and it trembles; He touches the mountains, and they smolder.

32 Basta um olhar e ele faz a terra tremer; com um simples toque ele faz as montanhas arderem em chamas!

33 I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

33 Cantarei louvores ao Senhor toda a minha vida! Cantarei hinos ao meu Deus enquanto eu viver!

34 May my meditation be pleasing to Him, for I rejoice in the LORD.

34 Que meus pensamentos e emoções deixem o Senhor satisfeito, pois ele é a minha alegria.

35 May sinners vanish from the earth and the wicked be no more. Bless the LORD, O my soul. Hallelujah!

35 Que os pecadores desapareçam da terra e os rebeldes deixem de existir. Louvarei o Senhor de todo o meu coração! Aleluia!
