Psalms 118

1 Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His loving devotion endures forever.

1 Deem graças ao Senhor, porque ele é bom e o seu amor fiel e dedicado dura para sempre.

2 Let Israel say, “His loving devotion endures forever.”

2 Por isso, todo o povo de Israel diga: “O seu amor fiel e dedicado dura para sempre!”

3 Let the house of Aaron say, “His loving devotion endures forever.”

3 E os sacerdotes, a família de Arão, também digam: “O seu amor fiel e dedicado dura para sempre!”

4 Let those who fear the LORD say, “His loving devotion endures forever.”

4 Todos os que amam e respeitam o Senhor digam: “O seu amor fiel e dedicado dura para sempre!”

5 In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered and set me free.

5 Cercado por terríveis problemas pedi ajuda do Senhor. Ele me ouviu e me livrou da angústia.

6 The LORD is on my side; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

6 O Senhor está comigo. Por isso não tenho medo do que os homens planejam fazer contra mim.

7 The LORD is on my side; He is my helper. Therefore I will look in triumph on those who hate me.

7 O Senhor está comigo. Ele é o meu ajudador; por isso verei a derrota dos meus inimigos.

8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.

8 É melhor confiar na proteção do Senhor do que confiar nos homens.

9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.

9 É melhor confiar na proteção do Senhor do que confiar em príncipes.

10 All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the LORD I cut them off.

10 Os exércitos de todas as nações me cercaram, mas eu venci a batalha e destruí meus inimigos em nome do Senhor.

11 They surrounded me on every side, but in the name of the LORD I cut them off.

11 Cercaram-me por todos os lados, mas eu venci a batalha em nome do Senhor.

12 They swarmed around me like bees, but they were extinguished like burning thorns; in the name of the LORD I cut them off.

12 Meus inimigos me cercaram como um enxame de abelhas, mas logo foram queimados como ramos secos numa fogueira! Eu os venci em nome do Senhor.

13 I was pushed so hard I was falling, but the LORD helped me.

13 Eles me atacaram violentamente para me destruir, mas o Senhor não me deixou cair.

14 The LORD is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation.

14 O Senhor é a minha força e o meu cântico; ele é a minha salvação.

15 Shouts of joy and salvation resound in the tents of the righteous: “The right hand of the LORD performs with valor!

15 As notícias alegres sobre a salvação são dadas em alta voz nas tendas de quem obedece ao Senhor, porque o braço direito do Senhor age com poder.

16 The right hand of the LORD is exalted! The right hand of the LORD performs with valor!”

16 A mão direita do Senhor é exaltada! O poder do Senhor nos deu a vitória!

17 I will not die, but I will live and proclaim what the LORD has done.

17 Não serei destruído! Pelo contrário, viverei para anunciar as maravilhas do Senhor.

18 The LORD disciplined me severely, but He has not given me over to death.

18 O Senhor me castigou duramente, mas não me deixou morrer.

19 Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter and give thanks to the LORD.

19 Abram as portas por onde os justos entram, e entrarei e darei graças ao Senhor.

20 This is the gate of the LORD; the righteous shall enter through it.

20 Esta é a porta do Senhor; só quem obedece a ele pode entrar.

21 I will give You thanks, for You have answered me, and You have become my salvation.

21 Dou graças ao Senhor, porque me respondeu e me salvou!

22 The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

22 A pedra que os construtores rejeitaram acabou se tornando a pedra mais importante de toda a construção.

23 This is from the LORD, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

23 Isso vem do Senhor e é uma coisa maravilhosa.

24 This is the day that the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

24 Este dia foi especialmente preparado pelo Senhor; vamos nos alegrar nele e festejar.

25 O LORD, save us, we pray. We beseech You, O LORD, cause us to prosper!

25 Ó Senhor, por favor, salve-nos! Ó Senhor, faça-nos prosperar! Nós suplicamos!

26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD. From the house of the LORD we bless you.

26 Bendito é aquele que vem em nome do Senhor! Nós o abençoamos da casa do Senhor.

27 The LORD is God; He has made His light to shine upon us. Bind the festal sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar.

27 O Senhor é Deus! Ele fez resplandecer sobre nós a sua luz! Aproximem-se do cortejo festivo, carregando ramos até as pontas do altar!

28 You are my God, and I will give You thanks. You are my God, and I will exalt You.

28 O Senhor é o meu Deus! Quero dar graças ao Senhor e falar da sua grandeza.

29 Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His loving devotion endures forever.

29 Deem graças ao Senhor porque ele é bom e o seu amor fiel e dedicado dura para sempre!
