Psalms 85

1 For the choirmaster. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. You showed favor to Your land, O LORD; You restored Jacob from captivity.

1 Dem Vorsänger. Von den Kindern Korahs. Ein Psalm. (085-2) HERR, du warst einst gnädig deinem Land, hast das Gefängnis Jakobs gewendet,

2 You forgave the iniquity of Your people; You covered all their sin. Selah

2 (085-3) vergabst deines Volkes Schuld, decktest alle ihre Sünden zu, (Pause)

3 You withheld all Your fury; You turned from Your burning anger.

3 (085-4) du ließest ab von deinem Grimm, wandtest dich von deines Zornes Glut:

4 Restore us, O God of our salvation, and put away Your displeasure toward us.

4 (085-5) Stelle uns wieder her, o Gott unsres Heils, laß ab von deinem Grimm gegen uns!

5 Will You be angry with us forever? Will You draw out Your anger to all generations?

5 (085-6) Oder willst du ewig mit uns zürnen, deinen Zorn währen lassen von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht?

6 Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?

6 (085-7) Willst du uns nicht wieder neu beleben, daß dein Volk sich deiner freuen kann?

7 Show us Your loving devotion, O LORD, and grant us Your salvation.

7 (085-8) HERR, laß uns deine Gnade schauen und schenke uns dein Heil!

8 I will listen to what God the LORD will say; for He will surely speak peace to His people and His saints; He will not let them return to folly.

8 (085-9) Ich will hören, was Gott, der HERR, reden wird; denn er wird Frieden zusagen seinem Volk und seinen Frommen. Nur daß sie sich nicht wieder zur Torheit wenden!

9 Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that His glory may dwell in our land.

9 (085-10) Gewiß ist sein Heil denen nahe, die ihn fürchten, daß Herrlichkeit in unserm Lande wohne,

10 Loving devotion and faithfulness have joined together; righteousness and peace have kissed.

10 (085-11) daß Gnade und Wahrheit einander begegnen, Gerechtigkeit und Friede sich küssen,

11 Faithfulness sprouts from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven.

11 (085-12) daß Treue aus der Erde sprieße und Gerechtigkeit vom Himmel schaue.

12 The LORD will indeed provide what is good, and our land will yield its increase.

12 (085-13) Der HERR wird uns auch Gutes geben, und unser Land wird seinen Ertrag abwerfen;

13 Righteousness will go before Him to prepare the way for His steps.

13 (085-14) Gerechtigkeit wird vor ihm hergehen und ihre Füße setzen auf den Pfad.
