Zechariah 12

1 This is the burden of the word of the LORD concerning Israel. Thus declares the LORD, who stretches out the heavens and lays the foundation of the earth, who forms the spirit of man within him:

1 Esta é a palavra do Senhor para Israel. Anúncio do Senhor que estendeu os céus, colocou os alicerces da terra e formou o espírito do homem dentro dele:

2 “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples. Judah will be besieged, as well as Jerusalem.

2 “Eu farei de Jerusalém uma taça de vinho que embriague todas as nações vizinhas que mandarem seus exércitos cercarem Judá e Jerusalém.

3 On that day, when all the nations of the earth gather against her, I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who would heave it away will be severely injured.

3 Jerusalém será uma pedra pesada. Embora as nações se unam para tentar tirá-la do seu lugar, acabarão sendo esmagadas pela pedra.

4 On that day, declares the LORD, I will strike every horse with panic, and every rider with madness. I will keep a watchful eye on the house of Judah, but I will strike with blindness all the horses of the nations.

4 Naquele dia”, diz o Senhor, “farei com que os cavalos fiquem apavorados e os cavaleiros loucos. Tomarei conta do povo de Judá, mas cegarei os cavalos dos seus inimigos.

5 Then the leaders of Judah will say in their hearts: ‘The people of Jerusalem are my strength, for the LORD of Hosts is their God.’

5 As famílias dos judeus dirão umas às outras: ‘O povo de Jerusalém achou força no Senhor dos Exércitos, o seu Deus!’

6 On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming torch among the sheaves; they will consume all the peoples around them on the right and on the left, while the people of Jerusalem remain secure there.

6 “Naquele dia farei das famílias de Judá um pequeno fogo que queima uma grande floresta, como uma pequena tocha entre os gravetos. Eles incendiarão as nações vizinhas a Leste e a Oeste, enquanto o povo de Jerusalém permanece seguro em sua própria cidade.

7 The LORD will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and of the people of Jerusalem may not be greater than that of Judah.

7 “O Senhor salvará primeiro as tendas de Judá, para que a honra dos habitantes de Jerusalém e da família real de Davi não seja superior à de Judá.

8 On that day the LORD will defend the people of Jerusalem, so that the weakest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD going before them.

8 O Senhor protegerá os habitantes de Jerusalém: o mais fraco entre eles será forte e valente como o rei Davi! A família real será como Deus, como o Anjo do Senhor que irá diante deles!

9 So on that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

9 “Naquele dia o meu plano é destruir todas as nações que marcharem contra Jerusalém.

10 Then I will pour out on the house of David and on the people of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and prayer, and they will look on Me, the One they have pierced. They will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for Him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

10 Então derramarei o espírito de ação de graça e de oração sobre a família de Davi e sobre todo o povo de Jerusalém, e todos olharão para aquele a quem atravessaram com a lança. Vão chorar por causa dele como uma família chora a morte do filho único, e todos ficarão tão tristes como se tivessem perdido o filho mais velho.

11 On that day the wailing in Jerusalem will be as great as the wailing of Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.

11 Naquele dia o choro em Jerusalém vai ser ainda maior do que quando o povo, cheio de tristeza, lamentou a morte do bom rei Josias, que foi morto na batalha do vale de Megido.

12 The land will mourn, each clan on its own: the clan of the house of David and their wives, the clan of the house of Nathan and their wives,

12 Todo o povo de Israel vai chorar; cada família separadamente chorará: a família dos descendentes de Davi, a família dos descendentes de Natã,

13 the clan of the house of Levi and their wives, the clan of Shimei and their wives,

13 a família dos descendentes de Levi, a família dos descendentes de Simei,

14 and all the remaining clans and their wives.

14 e todas as demais famílias. Cada família vai chorar em particular, os maridos separados das esposas”.
