Deuteronomy 27

1 Then Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people: “Keep all the commandments I am giving you today.

1 Então Moisés e os anciãos de Israel deram mais estas instruções: “Obedeçam a todos estes mandamentos que hoje ordeno a vocês.

2 And on the day you cross the Jordan into the land that the LORD your God is giving you, set up large stones and coat them with plaster.

2 Quando vocês atravessarem o rio Jordão e entrarem na terra que o Senhor, o seu Deus, dá a vocês, levantem pedras grandes e pintem-nas com cal.

3 Write on them all the words of this law when you have crossed over to enter the land that the LORD your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.

3 Escrevam nas pedras caiadas todas as palavras desta lei, para entrarem na terra que o Senhor, o seu Deus, lhes dá, terra que é fonte de leite e mel, como o Senhor, o Deus dos seus antepassados, prometeu.

4 And when you have crossed the Jordan, you are to set up these stones on Mount Ebal, as I am commanding you today, and you are to coat them with plaster.

4 E, quando tiverem passado o rio Jordão, levantem essas pedras no monte Ebal, como hoje ordeno a vocês, e pintem-nas com cal.

5 Moreover, you are to build there an altar to the LORD your God, an altar of stones. You must not use any iron tool on them.

5 No mesmo local, ergam um altar ao Senhor, o seu Deus. O altar deverá ser de pedras brutas, não cortadas por nenhuma ferramenta de ferro.

6 You shall build the altar of the LORD your God with uncut stones and offer upon it burnt offerings to the LORD your God.

6 Façam o altar ao Senhor, o seu Deus, com pedras brutas, e sobre esse altar ofereçam ao Senhor sacrifícios queimados.

7 There you are to sacrifice your peace offerings, eating them and rejoicing in the presence of the LORD your God.

7 Apresentem também ofertas de paz. Ali vocês poderão comer e alegrar-se na presença do Senhor, o seu Deus.

8 And you shall write distinctly upon these stones all the words of this law.”

8 Escrevam nessas pedras, de maneira bem legível, todos os termos desta lei”.

9 Then Moses and the Levitical priests spoke to all Israel: “Be silent, O Israel, and listen! This day you have become the people of the LORD your God.

9 Moisés, junto com os sacerdotes levitas, continuaram falando ao povo, dizendo: “Ouça em silêncio, ó Israel! Hoje você se tornou o povo do Senhor, o seu Deus!

10 You shall therefore obey the voice of the LORD your God and follow His commandments and statutes I am giving you today.”

10 Portanto, obedeça à voz do Senhor, o seu Deus, e siga os mandamentos e leis que hoje ensino a você”.

11 On that day Moses commanded the people:

11 Naquele mesmo dia Moisés deu esta ordem ao povo:

12 “When you have crossed the Jordan, these tribes shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.

12 “Quando vocês tiverem passado o Jordão, as tribos de Simeão, Levi, Judá, Issacar, José e Benjamim ficarão no alto do monte Gerizim para abençoar o povo.

13 And these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal to deliver the curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

13 E as tribos de Rúben, Gade, Aser, Zebulom, Dã e Naftali estarão no monte Ebal para anunciar maldição.

14 Then the Levites shall proclaim in a loud voice to every Israelite:

14 “Então os levitas gritarão para todo o povo de Israel o seguinte:

15 ‘Cursed is the man who makes a carved idol or molten image—an abomination to the LORD, the work of the hands of a craftsman—and sets it up in secret.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’

15 ‘Maldito aquele que fizer imagem de escultura, seja de madeira ou de metal fundido, obra de artesão, mesmo que a levante secretamente. O Senhor não tolera essas coisas’. E todo o povo dirá: ‘Amém!’

16 ‘Cursed is he who dishonors his father or mother.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’

16 ‘Maldito aquele que desprezar o seu pai ou a sua mãe’. E todo o povo dirá: ‘Amém!’

17 ‘Cursed is he who moves his neighbor’s boundary stone.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’

17 ‘Maldito aquele que mudar os marcos de divisa das terras do seu próximo’. E todo o povo dirá: ‘Amém!’

18 ‘Cursed is he who lets a blind man wander in the road.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’

18 ‘Maldito aquele que fizer um cego errar o caminho’. E todo o povo dirá: ‘Amém!’

19 ‘Cursed is he who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’

19 ‘Maldito aquele que fizer injustiça ao estrangeiro, ao órfão e à viúva’. E todo o povo dirá: ‘Amém!’

20 ‘Cursed is he who sleeps with his father’s wife, for he has violated his father’s marriage bed.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’

20 ‘Maldito aquele que tiver relações com a mulher do seu pai, pois desonrará a cama do próprio pai!’ E todo o povo dirá: ‘Amém!’

21 ‘Cursed is he who lies with any animal.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’

21 ‘Maldito aquele que tiver práticas sexuais com um animal!’ E todo o povo dirá: ‘Amém!’

22 ‘Cursed is he who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’

22 ‘Maldito aquele que tiver relações sexuais com a própria irmã, ainda que seja irmã só por parte de pai ou só por parte da mãe’. E todo o povo dirá: ‘Amém!’

23 ‘Cursed is he who sleeps with his mother-in-law.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’

23 ‘Maldito aquele que tiver relações sexuais com a própria sogra’. E todo o povo dirá: ‘Amém!’

24 ‘Cursed is he who strikes down his neighbor in secret.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’

24 ‘Maldito aquele que matar o seu próximo às escondidas’. E todo o povo dirá: ‘Amém!’

25 ‘Cursed is he who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’

25 ‘Maldito aquele que aceitar pagamento para matar uma pessoa inocente’. E todo o povo dirá: ‘Amém!’

26 ‘Cursed is he who does not put the words of this law into practice.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen!’

26 ‘Maldito aquele que não obedecer às palavras desta lei’. E todo o povo dirá: ‘Amém!’
