| BSB 1 Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, set your focus on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess. | KJV 1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; |
| BSB 2 He was faithful to the One who appointed Him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house. | KJV 2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. |
| BSB 3 For Jesus has been counted worthy of greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. | KJV 3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. |
| BSB 4 And every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. | KJV 4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. |
| BSB 5 Now Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house, testifying to what would be spoken later. | KJV 5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; |
| BSB 6 But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are His house, if we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope of which we boast. | KJV 6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. |
| BSB 7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear His voice, | KJV 7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, |
| BSB 8 do not harden your hearts, as you did in the rebellion, in the day of testing in the wilderness, | KJV 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: |
| BSB 9 where your fathers tested and tried Me, and for forty years saw My works. | KJV 9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. |
| BSB 10 Therefore I was angry with that generation, and I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known My ways.’ | KJV 10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. |
| BSB 11 So I swore on oath in My anger, ‘They shall never enter My rest.’” | KJV 11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) |
| BSB 12 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a wicked heart of unbelief that turns away from the living God. | KJV 12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. |
| BSB 13 But exhort one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. | KJV 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. |
| BSB 14 We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly to the end the assurance we had at first. | KJV 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; |
| BSB 15 As it has been said: “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as you did in the rebellion.” | KJV 15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. |
| BSB 16 For who were the ones who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? | KJV 16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. |
| BSB 17 And with whom was God angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? | KJV 17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? |
| BSB 18 And to whom did He swear that they would never enter His rest? Was it not to those who disobeyed? | KJV 18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? |
| BSB 19 So we see that it was because of their unbelief that they were unable to enter. | KJV 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. |
