John 15

1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the keeper of the vineyard.

1 “Eu sou a videira verdadeira, e meu Pai é o lavrador.

2 He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, and every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes to make it even more fruitful.

2 Todo ramo que, estando em mim, não dá fruto, ele corta; e poda os ramos que dão fruto, para que produzam ainda mais fruto.

3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.

3 Ele já limpou vocês pela palavra que lhes tenho falado.

4 Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.

4 Permaneçam em mim, e eu permanecerei em vocês. Pois nenhum ramo pode dar fruto quando está separado da videira. Nem vocês podem produzir frutos se não permanecerem em mim.

5 I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.

5 “Sim, eu sou a videira; vocês são os ramos. Todo aquele que permanecer em mim, e eu nele, esse produzirá muito fruto. Porque separados de mim vocês não podem fazer coisa alguma.

6 If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned.

6 Quando alguém não permanece em mim, é jogado fora como um ramo imprestável, seca-se, é ajuntado num montão com todos os outros, e depois é lançado no fogo e queimado.

7 If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

7 Mas, se vocês permanecerem em mim e obedecerem às minhas ordens, podem fazer o pedido que quiserem, e isso será concedido!

8 This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples.

8 Os meus verdadeiros discípulos dão colheitas abundantes. Isso resulta em grande glória para o meu Pai.

9 As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Remain in My love.

9 “Eu tenho amado a vocês, tal como o Pai me amou. Permaneçam no meu amor.

10 If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.

10 Se vocês obedecerem aos meus mandamentos, permanecerão no meu amor, assim como eu obedeço aos mandamentos do meu Pai e permaneço no seu amor.

11 I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.

11 Eu lhes disse isso para que a minha alegria esteja em vocês. Sim, vocês vão ficar transbordando com a minha alegria!

12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

12 O meu mandamento é este: Amem uns aos outros como eu amo a vocês.

13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

13 E esta é a maneira de medir o amor — o maior amor é demonstrado quando uma pessoa entrega a vida pelos seus amigos.

14 You are My friends if you do what I command you.

14 Vocês serão meus amigos se me obedecerem.

15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not understand what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything I have learned from My Father I have made known to you.

15 Eu já não os chamo de escravos, porque um escravo não sabe o que o seu senhor faz; agora vocês são meus amigos, e a prova é o fato de que eu lhes disse tudo o que o Pai me disse.

16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will remain—so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.

16 Vocês não escolheram a mim! Eu é que escolhi vocês! Eu os chamei para irem e darem fruto, fruto que permanece, para que tudo o que pedirem ao Pai, em meu nome, ele conceda a vocês.

17 This is My command to you: Love one another.

17 Este é o meu mandamento: Amem-se uns aos outros.

18 If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first.

18 “Se o mundo os odeia, lembrem-se: o mundo me odiou antes de odiar a vocês.

19 If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.

19 O mundo amaria a vocês, se pertencessem a ele; todavia vocês não são do mundo, pois eu escolhi vocês, tirando-os do mundo; por isso é que são odiados pelo mundo.

20 Remember the word that I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they kept My word, they will keep yours as well.

20 Lembrem-se do que eu lhes disse: ‘Nenhum escravo é maior do que o seu senhor!’ Portanto, já que eles me perseguiram, naturalmente perseguirão vocês. E se eles me tivessem ouvido, ouviriam a vocês!

21 But they will treat you like this because of My name, since they do not know the One who sent Me.

21 O povo do mundo os perseguirá, por causa de mim, pois eles não conhecem aquele que me enviou.

22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin.

22 “Eles não seriam culpados, se eu não tivesse vindo, nem tivesse falado. Porém agora eles não têm desculpa pelo seu pecado.

23 Whoever hates Me hates My Father as well.

23 Todo aquele que me odiar, também odeia a meu Pai.

24 If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have seen and hated both Me and My Father.

24 Se eu não tivesse realizado obras que ninguém mais fez, não seriam considerados culpados. Mas agora, eles as viram, e mesmo assim odeiam a mim e ao meu Pai.

25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated Me without reason.’

25 Mas isso aconteceu para que se cumprisse o que está escrito na Lei deles: ‘Eles me odiaram sem motivo’.

26 When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father—He will testify about Me.

26 “Porém eu enviarei o Consolador a vocês, o Espírito da verdade. Ele virá do Pai para vocês e testemunhará a meu respeito.

27 And you also must testify, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

27 E vocês também devem testemunhar a meu respeito, porque têm estado comigo desde o princípio.
