Leviticus 14

1 Then the LORD said to Moses,

1 Bwana akamwambia Mose,

2 “This is the law for the one afflicted with a skin disease on the day of his cleansing, when he is brought to the priest.

2 “Haya ndiyo masharti yamhusuyo mtu mgonjwa wakati wa kufanyiwa ibada ya utakaso wakati aletwapo kwa kuhani:

3 The priest is to go outside the camp to examine him, and if the skin disease of the afflicted person has healed,

3 Kuhani atakwenda kumchunguza nje ya kambi. Kama mtu huyo atakuwa amepona ugonjwa wake wa ngozi wa kuambukiza,

4 the priest shall order that two live clean birds, cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop be brought for the one to be cleansed.

4 kuhani ataagiza vitu vifuatavyo viletwe kwa ajili ya mtu atakayetakaswa: ndege wawili safi walio hai, mti wa mwerezi, kitani nyekundu, na hisopo.

5 Then the priest shall command that one of the birds be slaughtered over fresh water in a clay pot.

5 Kisha kuhani ataagiza kwamba mmoja wa ndege wale achinjwe kwenye chungu chenye maji safi.

6 And he is to take the live bird together with the cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop, and dip them into the blood of the bird that was slaughtered over the fresh water.

6 Kisha kuhani atamchukua ndege aliye hai na kumtumbukiza pamoja na mti wa mwerezi, kitani nyekundu na hisopo ndani ya damu ya yule ndege aliyechinjiwa kwenye maji safi.

7 Seven times he shall sprinkle the one to be cleansed of the skin disease. Then he shall pronounce him clean and release the live bird into the open field.

7 Atamnyunyizia yule mwenye ugonjwa wa kuambukiza maji hayo mara saba, na kumtangaza kuwa safi. Kisha atamwachia yule ndege aliye hai aende zake kwenye mashamba.

8 The one being cleansed must wash his clothes, shave off all his hair, and bathe with water; then he will be ceremonially clean. Afterward, he may enter the camp, but he must remain outside his tent for seven days.

8 “Huyo mtu atakayetakaswa ni lazima afue nguo zake, anyoe nywele zake zote, na aoge kwa maji; ndipo atakapokuwa safi kwa desturi ya ibada. Baada ya hili anaweza kuingia kambini, lakini ni lazima akae nje ya hema lake kwa siku saba.

9 On the seventh day he must shave off all his hair—his head, his beard, his eyebrows, and the rest of his hair. He must wash his clothes and bathe himself with water, and he will be clean.

9 Siku ya saba ni lazima anyoe nywele zake zote; yaani anyoe nywele za kichwa, ndevu zake, kope zake na nywele nyingine zote. Ni lazima afue nguo zake, na aoge kwa maji, naye atakuwa safi.

10 On the eighth day he is to bring two unblemished male lambs, an unblemished ewe lamb a year old, a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with olive oil, and one log of olive oil.

10 “Siku ya nane, ni lazima alete kondoo dume wawili na kondoo jike mmoja, wote wa mwaka mmoja na wasio na dosari, pamoja na sehemu tatu za kumi za efa za unga laini uliochanganywa na mafuta, kwa ajili ya sadaka ya nafaka, na logi moja ya mafuta.

11 The priest who performs the cleansing shall present the one to be cleansed, together with these offerings, before the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.

11 Kuhani atakayemtangaza kuwa safi atahitaji kumkabidhi mgonjwa aliyepona pamoja na sadaka zake zote mbele za Bwana katika ingilio la Hema la Kukutania.

12 Then the priest is to take one of the male lambs and present it as a guilt offering, along with the log of olive oil; and he must wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.

12 “Kisha kuhani atamchukua mmoja wa wale kondoo dume na kumtoa kuwa sadaka ya hatia, pamoja na ile logi moja ya mafuta; ataviinua mbele za Bwana kuwa sadaka ya kuinuliwa.

13 Then he is to slaughter the lamb in the sanctuary area where the sin offering and burnt offering are slaughtered. Like the sin offering, the guilt offering belongs to the priest; it is most holy.

13 Atamchinja huyo kondoo katika mahali patakatifu ambapo sadaka ya dhambi na ile ya kuteketezwa huchinjiwa. Kama ilivyo sadaka ya dhambi, sadaka ya hatia ni ya kuhani; nayo ni takatifu sana.

14 The priest is to take some of the blood from the guilt offering and put it on the right earlobe of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

14 Kuhani atachukua sehemu ya damu ya sadaka ya hatia na kuitia kwenye ncha ya sikio la kuume la yule atakayetakaswa, kwenye kidole gumba cha mkono wake wa kuume, na kidole kikubwa cha mguu wake wa kuume.

15 Then the priest shall take some of the log of olive oil, pour it into his left palm,

15 Kuhani atachukua sehemu ya ile logi ya mafuta, ayamimine kwenye kiganja cha mkono wake mwenyewe wa kushoto,

16 dip his right forefinger into the oil in his left palm, and sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD.

16 na achovye kidole chake cha shahada cha mkono wake wa kuume kwenye mafuta yaliyoko kwenye kiganja chake, na kwa kidole hicho anyunyize mafuta hayo mara saba mbele za Bwana.

17 And the priest is to put some of the oil remaining in his palm on the right earlobe of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on top of the blood of the guilt offering.

17 Kuhani atampaka yule anayetakaswa sehemu ya mafuta yaliyobaki kiganjani kwenye ncha ya sikio lake la kuume, kwenye kidole gumba cha mkono wake wa kuume, na kidole kikubwa cha mguu wake wa kuume, mahali palepale alipompaka damu ya sadaka ya kuondoa hatia.

18 The rest of the oil in his palm, the priest is to put on the head of the one to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before the LORD.

18 Kuhani atayapaka mafuta yaliyobaki kwenye kiganja chake juu ya kichwa cha yule anayetakaswa, na kufanya upatanisho kwa ajili yake mbele za Bwana.

19 Then the priest is to sacrifice the sin offering and make atonement for the one to be cleansed from his uncleanness. After that, the priest shall slaughter the burnt offering

19 “Kisha kuhani atatoa dhabihu ya sadaka ya dhambi na kufanya upatanisho kwa ajili ya yule atakayetakaswa kutoka unajisi wake. Baada ya hayo, kuhani atachinja sadaka ya kuteketezwa

20 and offer it on the altar, with the grain offering, to make atonement for him, and he will be clean.

20 na kuitoa juu ya madhabahu, pamoja na sadaka ya nafaka ili kumfanyia upatanisho, naye atakuwa safi.

21 If, however, the person is poor and cannot afford these offerings, he is to take one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved to make atonement for him, along with a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with olive oil for a grain offering, a log of olive oil,

21 “Hata hivyo, kama ni maskini na hawezi kupata vitu hivi, lazima achukue mwana-kondoo mmoja kama sadaka ya hatia ipate kuinuliwa ili kumfanyia upatanisho, pamoja na sehemu ya kumi ya efa ya unga laini uliochanganywa na logi moja ya mafuta kwa ajili ya sadaka ya nafaka,

22 and two turtledoves or two young pigeons, whichever he can afford, one to be a sin offering and the other a burnt offering.

22 na hua wawili au makinda mawili ya njiwa, kile atakachoweza kupata, mmoja kwa sadaka ya dhambi, na mwingine kwa sadaka ya kuteketezwa.

23 On the eighth day he is to bring them for his cleansing to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting before the LORD.

23 “Katika siku ya nane, lazima avilete vitu hivyo kwa kuhani, kwa ajili ya kutakaswa kwake kwenye ingilio la Hema la Kukutania mbele za Bwana.

24 The priest shall take the lamb for the guilt offering, along with the log of olive oil, and wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.

24 Kuhani atamchukua mwana-kondoo kwa ajili ya sadaka ya hatia, pamoja na ile logi ya mafuta ya kuinuliwa mbele za Bwana kuwa sadaka ya kuinuliwa.

25 And after he slaughters the lamb for the guilt offering, the priest is to take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the right earlobe of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.

25 Atamchinja huyo mwana-kondoo kwa ajili ya sadaka ya hatia. Pia ataichukua sehemu ya damu yake na kuipaka kwenye ncha ya sikio la kuume la yule anayetakaswa, na aipake pia kwenye kidole gumba cha mkono wa kuume wa huyo mtu, na kidole kikubwa cha mguu wake wa kuume.

26 Then the priest is to pour some of the oil into his left palm

26 Kuhani atamiminia sehemu ya mafuta kwenye kiganja chake cha mkono wa kushoto,

27 and sprinkle with his right forefinger some of the oil in his left palm seven times before the LORD.

27 na kwa kidole chake cha shahada cha mkono wa kuume, atamnyunyizia yule anayetakaswa yale mafuta yaliyo kwenye kiganja chake mara saba mbele za Bwana.

28 The priest shall also put some of the oil in his palm on the right earlobe of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot—on the same places as the blood of the guilt offering.

28 Atampaka mafuta yaliyobaki kwenye kiganja chake katika sehemu zote, kama alivyompaka damu ya sadaka ya hatia: yaani, kwenye ncha ya sikio la kuume la yule anayetakaswa, kwenye kidole gumba cha mkono wake wa kuume, na kidole kikubwa cha mguu wake wa kuume.

29 The rest of the oil in his palm, the priest is to put on the head of the one to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before the LORD.

29 Kuhani atayapaka mafuta yaliyobaki katika kiganja chake kwenye kichwa cha yule anayetakaswa, na kufanya upatanisho kwa ajili yake mbele za Bwana.

30 Then he must sacrifice the turtledoves or young pigeons, whichever he can afford,

30 Kisha atatoa dhabihu wale hua ama yale makinda ya njiwa ambayo mtu ataweza kuwapata,

31 one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, together with the grain offering. In this way the priest will make atonement before the LORD for the one to be cleansed.

31 mmoja kwa ajili ya sadaka ya dhambi, na mwingine kuwa sadaka ya kuteketezwa, pamoja na sadaka ya nafaka. Kwa njia hii kuhani atafanya upatanisho mbele za Bwana kwa ajili ya yule anayetakaswa.”

32 This is the law for someone who has a skin disease and cannot afford the cost of his cleansing.”

32 Haya ndiyo masharti kwa mtu yeyote mwenye ugonjwa wa ngozi wa kuambukiza, na ambaye hana uwezo wa kutoa sadaka za kawaida kwa ajili ya kutakaswa kwake.

33 Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,

33 Bwana akawaambia Mose na Aroni,

34 “When you enter the land of Canaan, which I am giving you as your possession, and I put a contamination of mildew into a house in that land,

34 “Mtakapoingia katika nchi ya Kanaani ambayo ninawapa kuwa milki yenu, nami nikaweka upele ueneao kwenye nyumba katika nchi ile,

35 the owner of the house shall come and tell the priest, ‘Something like mildew has appeared in my house.’

35 ni lazima mwenye nyumba hiyo akamwambie kuhani, ‘Nimeona kitu fulani kinachofanana na upele kwenye nyumba yangu.’

36 The priest must order that the house be cleared before he enters it to examine the mildew, so that nothing in the house will become unclean. After this, the priest shall go in to inspect the house.

36 Kuhani ataagiza vitu vyote vitolewe ndani ya nyumba, kabla hajaenda kuchunguza kama ina ugonjwa huo, ili kitu chochote ndani ya nyumba kisitangazwe kuwa najisi. Baada ya hili, kuhani ataingia ndani na kuikagua hiyo nyumba.

37 He is to examine the house, and if the mildew on the walls consists of green or red depressions that appear to be beneath the surface of the wall,

37 Atachunguza upele huo katika kuta za nyumba hiyo, nazo kama zina rangi ya kijani kibichi au wekundu, na kuna mibonyeo ndani ya ukuta,

38 the priest shall go outside the doorway of the house and close it up for seven days.

38 kuhani atatoka na kufunga mlango wa nyumba hiyo kwa siku saba.

39 On the seventh day the priest is to return and inspect the house. If the mildew has spread on the walls,

39 Siku ya saba, kuhani atarudi kuikagua nyumba. Kama upele umeenea juu ya kuta,

40 he must order that the contaminated stones be pulled out and thrown into an unclean place outside the city.

40 ataagiza kwamba mawe yote yaliyoambukizwa yaondolewe na kutupwa katika eneo lililo najisi nje ya mji.

41 And he shall have the inside of the house scraped completely and the plaster that is scraped off dumped into an unclean place outside the city.

41 Kuta zote za ndani ya nyumba hiyo ni lazima zikwanguliwe, na kifusi chake kitupwe mahali najisi nje ya mji.

42 So different stones must be obtained to replace the contaminated ones, as well as additional mortar to replaster the house.

42 Kisha watachukua mawe mengine na kujenga palipobomolewa kwa udongo mpya wa mfinyanzi, na kuipiga nyumba hiyo lipu mpya.

43 If the mildew reappears in the house after the stones have been torn out and the house has been scraped and replastered,

43 “Ikiwa upele huo utatokea tena ndani ya ile nyumba baada ya mawe kuondolewa na nyumba kukwanguliwa na kuwekwa lipu mpya,

44 the priest must come and inspect it. If the mildew has spread in the house, it is a destructive mildew; the house is unclean.

44 kuhani atakwenda kuikagua, na kama upele umeenea ndani ya nyumba, basi ni upele uharibuo; nyumba hiyo ni najisi.

45 It must be torn down with its stones, its timbers, and all its plaster, and taken outside the city to an unclean place.

45 Ni lazima ibomolewe: mawe yake, mbao na lipu yake, vyote vikatupwe nje ya mji mahali palipo najisi.

46 Anyone who enters the house during any of the days that it is closed up will be unclean until evening.

46 “Yeyote atakayeingia katika nyumba hiyo ikiwa imefungwa, atakuwa najisi mpaka jioni.

47 And anyone who sleeps in the house or eats in it must wash his clothes.

47 Yeyote atakayelala au kula ndani ya nyumba hiyo ni lazima afue nguo zake.

48 If, however, the priest comes and inspects it, and the mildew has not spread after the house has been replastered, he shall pronounce the house clean, because the mildew is gone.

48 “Lakini ikiwa kuhani atakuja kuikagua na kukuta kuwa upele haujaenea tena baada ya nyumba kupigwa lipu, ataitangaza nyumba ile kuwa safi, kwa sababu upele umekwisha.

49 He is to take two birds, cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop to purify the house;

49 Ili kuitakasa nyumba hiyo, mwenye nyumba ataleta ndege wawili, mti wa mwerezi, kitani nyekundu na hisopo.

50 and he shall slaughter one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot.

50 Atamchinja mmoja wa wale ndege kwenye chungu chenye maji safi.

51 Then he shall take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet yarn, and the live bird, dip them in the blood of the slaughtered bird and the fresh water, and sprinkle the house seven times.

51 Kisha atachukua mti wa mwerezi, hisopo, kitani nyekundu na ndege aliye hai, na kuvitumbukiza ndani ya damu ya ndege aliyechinjwa pamoja na maji safi, na kuinyunyizia nyumba ile mara saba.

52 And he shall cleanse the house with the bird’s blood, the fresh water, the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the scarlet yarn.

52 Ataitakasa nyumba kwa damu ya yule ndege, maji safi, ndege aliye hai, mti wa mwerezi, hisopo na kitani nyekundu.

53 Finally, he is to release the live bird into the open fields outside the city. In this way he will make atonement for the house, and it will be clean.

53 Kisha atamwachia yule ndege aliye hai huru mashambani nje ya mji. Kwa njia hii atafanya upatanisho kwa ajili ya nyumba ile, nayo itakuwa safi.”

54 This is the law for any infectious skin disease, for a scaly outbreak,

54 Haya ndiyo masharti kuhusu aina yoyote ya ugonjwa wa ngozi wa kuambukiza, mwasho wowote,

55 for mildew in clothing or in a house,

55 upele ndani ya nguo au ndani ya nyumba,

56 and for a swelling, rash, or spot,

56 kwa uvimbe, vipele au kipaku kingʼaacho,

57 to determine when something is clean or unclean. This is the law regarding skin diseases and mildew.”

57 kupambanua wakati kitu fulani ni safi au najisi. Haya ndiyo masharti kuhusu magonjwa ya ngozi ya kuambukiza na upele.
