Psalms 135

1 Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD. Give praise, O servants of the LORD,

1 Halleluja! Lobet den Namen des HERRN, lobet, ihr Knechte des HERRN,

2 who stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.

2 die ihr stehet im Hause des HERRN, in den Höfen des Hauses unsers Gottes!

3 Hallelujah, for the LORD is good; sing praises to His name, for it is lovely.

3 Lobet den HERRN, denn der HERR ist freundlich; lobsinget seinem Namen, denn er ist lieblich!

4 For the LORD has chosen Jacob as His own, Israel as His treasured possession.

4 Denn der HERR hat sich Jakob erwählt, Israel zu seinem Eigentum.

5 For I know that the LORD is great; our Lord is above all gods.

5 Denn ich weiß, daß der HERR groß ist und unser HERR vor allen Göttern.

6 The LORD does all that pleases Him in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and in all their depths.

6 Alles, was er will, das tut er, im Himmel und auf Erden, im Meer und in allen Tiefen;

7 He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He generates the lightning with the rain and brings forth the wind from His storehouses.

7 der die Wolken läßt aufsteigen vom Ende der Erde, der die Blitze samt dem Regen macht, der den Wind aus seinen Vorratskammern kommen läßt;

8 He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, of both man and beast.

8 der die Erstgeburten schlug in Ägypten, beider, der Menschen und des Viehes,

9 He sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.

9 und ließ Zeichen und Wunder kommen über dich, Ägyptenland, über Pharao und alle seine Knechte;

10 He struck down many nations and slaughtered mighty kings:

10 der viele Völker schlug und tötete mächtige Könige:

11 Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan.

11 Sihon, der Amoriter König, und Og, den König von Basan, und alle Königreiche in Kanaan;

12 He gave their land as an inheritance, as a heritage to His people Israel.

12 und gab ihr Land zum Erbe, zum Erbe seinem Volk Israel.

13 Your name, O LORD, endures forever, Your renown, O LORD, through all generations.

13 HERR, dein Name währet ewiglich; dein Gedächtnis, HERR, währet für und für.

14 For the LORD will vindicate His people and will have compassion on His servants.

14 Denn der HERR wird sein Volk richten und seinen Knechten gnädig sein.

15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.

15 Der Heiden Götzen sind Silber und Gold, von Menschenhänden gemacht.

16 They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;

16 Sie haben Mäuler, und reden nicht; sie haben Augen, und sehen nicht;

17 they have ears, but cannot hear; nor is there breath in their mouths.

17 sie haben Ohren, und hören nicht; auch ist kein Odem in ihrem Munde.

18 Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them.

18 Die solche machen, sind gleich also, alle, die auf solche hoffen.

19 O house of Israel, bless the LORD; O house of Aaron, bless the LORD;

19 Das Haus Israel lobe den HERRN! Lobet den HERRN, ihr vom Hause Aaron!

20 O house of Levi, bless the LORD; you who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!

20 Ihr vom Hause Levi, lobet den HERRN! Die ihr den HERRN fürchtet, lobet den HERRN!

21 Blessed be the LORD from Zion—He who dwells in Jerusalem. Hallelujah!

21 Gelobet sei der HERR aus Zion, der zu Jerusalem wohnt! Halleluja!
