Psalms 135

1 Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD. Give praise, O servants of the LORD,

1 Aleluia! Louvem o nome do Senhor, todos os seus servos!

2 who stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.

2 Sim, vocês que servem na casa do Senhor e o povo que se reúne no pátio da casa do nosso Deus,

3 Hallelujah, for the LORD is good; sing praises to His name, for it is lovely.

3 louvem o Senhor, porque o Senhor é bom! Que coisa boa é cantar louvores ao seu nome, porque seu nome é amável!

4 For the LORD has chosen Jacob as His own, Israel as His treasured possession.

4 Devemos fazer isso porque o Senhor escolheu Israel para ser o seu povo especial, o seu tesouro particular.

5 For I know that the LORD is great; our Lord is above all gods.

5 É verdade! O Senhor é grande, e eu sei que o nosso Soberano é maior e mais poderoso que todos os outros deuses.

6 The LORD does all that pleases Him in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and in all their depths.

6 O Senhor cumpriu toda a sua vontade nos céus e na terra, nos mares, e em todas as suas profundezas.

7 He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He generates the lightning with the rain and brings forth the wind from His storehouses.

7 Ele traz as nuvens dos confins da terra; cria os relâmpagos que acompanham a chuva e faz o vento sair de seus depósitos.

8 He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, of both man and beast.

8 Ele matou o filho mais velho de todas as famílias do Egito; nem os primogênitos dos rebanhos egípcios escaparam.

9 He sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.

9 Ele realizou grandes sinais e maravilhas na terra do Egito contra o faraó e todos os seus conselheiros.

10 He struck down many nations and slaughtered mighty kings:

10 Ele derrotou muitas nações e destruiu reis poderosos

11 Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan.

11 como Seom, rei dos amorreus, Ogue, rei de Basã, e todos os reis das nações de Canaã.

12 He gave their land as an inheritance, as a heritage to His people Israel.

12 Depois o Senhor entregou essas terras como herança, como herança ao seu povo, Israel.

13 Your name, O LORD, endures forever, Your renown, O LORD, through all generations.

13 Senhor, o seu nome permanece para sempre! A sua memória será sempre lembrada e respeitada pelo nosso povo em todas as gerações,

14 For the LORD will vindicate His people and will have compassion on His servants.

14 porque o Senhor defende a causa do seu povo e mostra seu cuidado e amor pelos seus servos.

15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.

15 Os falsos deuses de outros povos não passam de imagens feitas de ouro e prata, por mãos humanas.

16 They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;

16 Têm boca, mas não falam; têm olhos, mas não veem.

17 they have ears, but cannot hear; nor is there breath in their mouths.

17 Têm ouvidos, mas não ouvem, porque esses ídolos não têm vida!

18 Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them.

18 Quem faz essas imagens e adora esses ídolos acaba se tornando como eles.

19 O house of Israel, bless the LORD; O house of Aaron, bless the LORD;

19 Povo de Israel, louve o Senhor! Sacerdotes, da família de Arão, louvem o Senhor!

20 O house of Levi, bless the LORD; you who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!

20 Levitas, servos e guardas no templo, louvem o Senhor! Todos vocês que amam e obedecem ao Senhor, louvem o Senhor!

21 Blessed be the LORD from Zion—He who dwells in Jerusalem. Hallelujah!

21 Bendito seja o Senhor em Sião, a cidade onde o Senhor habita! Aleluia!
