Psalms 137

1 By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept when we remembered Zion.

1 बाबेल की नदी के तट पर बैठे हुए ज़ियोन का स्मरण कर हम रो रहे थे.

2 There on the willows we hung our harps,

2 वहां मजनू वृक्षों पर हमने अपने वाद्य टांग दिए थे.

3 for there our captors requested a song; our tormentors demanded songs of joy: “Sing us a song of Zion.”

3 क्योंकि जिन्होंने हमें बंदी बनाया था, वे हमारा गायन सुनना चाह रहे थे और जो हमें दुःख दे रहे थे; वे हमसे हर्षगान सुनने की चाह कर रहे थे, “हमें ज़ियोन का कोई गीत सुनाओ!”

4 How can we sing a song of the LORD in a foreign land?

4 प्रवास में हमारे लिए याहवेह का स्तवन गान गाना कैसे संभव हो सकता था?

5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand cease to function.

5 येरूशलेम, यदि मैं तुम्हें भूल जाऊं, तो मेरे दायें हाथ का कौशल जाता रहेगा.

6 May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, if I do not exalt Jerusalem as my greatest joy!

6 यदि मैं तुम्हारा स्मरण न करूं, यदि मैं येरूशलेम को अपना सर्वोच्च आनंद न मानूं, मेरी जीभ तालू से जा चिपके.

7 Remember, O LORD, the sons of Edom on the day Jerusalem fell: “Destroy it,” they said, “tear it down to its foundations!”

7 याहवेह, वह दिन स्मरण कीजिए जब एदोम के वंशज येरूशलेम के विरुद्ध एकत्र हो गए थे. वे कैसे चिल्ला रहे थे, “ढा दो इसे, इसे नींव तक ढा दो!”

8 O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, blessed is he who repays you as you have done to us.

8 बाबेल की पुत्री, तेरा विनाश तो निश्चित है, धन्य होगा वह पुरुष, जो तुझसे उन अत्याचारों का प्रतिशोध लेगा जो तूने हम पर किए.

9 Blessed is he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.

9 धन्य होगा वह पुरुष, जो तेरे शिशुओं को उठाकर चट्टान पर पटक देगा.
