Psalms 8

1 For the choirmaster. According to Gittith. A Psalm of David. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens.

1 याहवेह, हमारे प्रभु, समस्त पृथ्वी पर कितना तेजमय है आपका नाम! स्वर्ग पर आपने अपने वैभव को प्रदर्शित किया है.

2 From the mouths of children and infants You have ordained praise on account of Your adversaries, to silence the enemy and avenger.

2 आपने अपने शत्रुओं के कारण बालकों एवं शिशुओं के मुख से अपना बल बसा लिया, कि आपके विरोधियों तथा शत्रु का अंत हो जाए.

3 When I behold Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place—

3 जब मैं आपकी उंगलियों, द्वारा रचा आकाश, चंद्रमा और नक्षत्रों को, जिन्हें आपने यथास्थान पर स्थापित किया, देखता हूं,

4 what is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You care for him?

4 तब मैं विचार करता हूं: मनुष्य है ही क्या, कि आप उसकी ओर ध्यान दें? क्या विशेषता है मानव में कि आप उसके विषय में विचार भी करें?

5 You made him a little lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honor.

5 आपने मनुष्य को सम्मान और वैभव का मुकुट पहनाया, क्योंकि आपने उसे स्वर्गदूतों से थोड़ा ही कम बनाया है.

6 You made him ruler of the works of Your hands; You have placed everything under his feet:

6 आपने उसे अपनी सृष्टि का प्रशासक बनाया; आपने सभी कुछ उसके अधिकार में दे दिया:

7 all sheep and oxen, and even the beasts of the field,

7 भेड़-बकरी, गाय-बैल, तथा वन्य पशु,

8 the birds of the air and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.

8 आकाश के पक्षी, एवं समुद्र की मछलियां, तथा समुद्री धाराओं में चलते फिरते सभी जलचर भी.

9 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!

9 याहवेह, हमारे प्रभु, समस्त पृथ्वी पर कितना तेजमय है आपका नाम!
