Psalms 91

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

1 Aquele que vive protegido pelo Altíssimo, guardado pelo Todo-poderoso,

2 I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

2 pode dizer ao Senhor: “O Senhor é a minha proteção e a minha fortaleza, o meu Deus, em quem confio”.

3 Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly plague.

3 Ele o salvará das armadilhas e do veneno mortal.

4 He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart.

4 Ele o protegerá debaixo das suas asas, e lá você estará seguro. A sua fidelidade o protegerá como um escudo.

5 You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

5 Você não terá medo da escuridão da noite, nem da flecha que voa durante o dia.

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the calamity that destroys at noon.

6 Não ficará assustado com a peste que se espalha sorrateira nas trevas, nem da praga que devasta ao meio-dia.

7 Though a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, no harm will come near you.

7 Mil podem cair à sua esquerda, dez mil à sua direita, mas nenhum mal o atingirá!

8 You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked.

8 Você olhará tranquilamente e verá Deus castigando os pecadores desobedientes.

9 Because you have made the LORD your dwelling—my refuge, the Most High—

9 Tudo isso acontecerá porque você disse: “O Senhor é a minha proteção! O Altíssimo é a minha morada segura”!

10 no evil will befall you, no plague will approach your tent.

10 O mal não me apanhará de surpresa, e o meu lar não será atingido pela desgraça.

11 For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

11 Porque o Senhor dará instruções especiais aos seus anjos para o protegerem em todos os seus caminhos.

12 They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

12 Eles o apoiarão com as mãos, para que você não tropece em alguma pedra no caminho.

13 You will tread on the lion and cobra; you will trample the young lion and serpent.

13 Você enfrentará sem medo o leão e a cobra venenosa; matará o leão e pisará a serpente.

14 “Because he loves Me, I will deliver him; because he knows My name, I will protect him.

14 Assim diz o Senhor a seu respeito: “Ele se entregou a mim de todo o coração, por isso eu o salvarei! Ele me conhece pessoalmente, e por isso o colocarei num lugar alto e seguro.

15 When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him.

15 Ele me pedirá ajuda, e eu responderei. Quando estiver em dificuldades, eu estarei ao seu lado, resolverei seus problemas e lhe darei uma posição de honra.

16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”

16 Darei a ele uma vida longa e feliz e lhe mostrarei a minha salvação”.
