1 Chronicles 14

1 Now Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, along with cedar logs, stonemasons, and carpenters, to build a palace for him.

1 وَأَرْسَلَ حِيرَامُ مَلِكُ صُورَ إِلَى دَاوُدَ وَفْداً، صَحَبَ مَعَهُ بَنَّائِينَ وَنَجَّارِينَ مُحَمَّلِينَ بِخَشَبِ أَرْزٍ، لِيَبْنُوا لَهُ قَصْراً.

2 And David realized that the LORD had established him as king over Israel and had highly exalted his kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.

2 فَأَدْرَكَ دَاوُدُ أَنَّ الرَّبَّ قَدْ ثَبَّتَ دَعَائِمَ مُلْكِهِ عَلَى إِسْرَائِيلَ، لأَنَّ مَمْلَكَتَهُ ازْدَادَتْ رِفْعَةً مِنْ أَجْلِ شَعْبِهِ إِسْرَائِيلَ.

3 And David took more wives in Jerusalem and became the father of more sons and daughters.

3 وَفِي أُورُشَلِيمَ تَزَوَّجَ دَاوُدُ مِنْ نِسَاءٍ أَنْجَبْنَ لَهُ أَبْنَاءً وَبَنَاتٍ.

4 These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

4 وَهَذِهِ أَسْمَاءُ الأَبْنَاءِ الَّذِينَ وُلِدُوا لَهُ فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ: شَمُّوعُ وَشُوبَابُ وَنَاثَانُ وَسُلَيْمَانُ،

5 Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet,

5 وَيِبْحَارُ وَأَلِيشُوعُ وَأَلِفَالَطُ،

6 Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,

6 وَنُوجَةُ وَنَافَجُ وَيَافِيعُ،

7 Elishama, Beeliada, and Eliphelet.

7 وَأَلِشَمَعُ وَبَعَلْيَادَاعُ وَأَلِيفَلَطُ.

8 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, they all went in search of him; but David learned of this and went out to face them.

8 وَلَمَّا سَمِعَ الْفِلِسْطِينِيُّونَ أَنَّ دَاوُدَ مَلَكَ عَلَى إِسْرَائِيلَ، حَشَدُوا قُوَّاتِهِمْ لِيَأْسِرُوهُ. وَحِينَ بَلَغَ دَاوُدَ ذَلِكَ خَرَجَ لِلِقَائِهِمْ.

9 Now the Philistines had come and raided the Valley of Rephaim.

9 فَجَاءَ الْفِلِسْطِينِيُّونَ إِلَى وَادِي الرَّفَائِيِّينَ وَانْتَشَرُوا فِيهِ.

10 So David inquired of God, “Should I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” “Go,” replied the LORD, “for I will deliver them into your hand.”

10 فَسَأَلَ دَاوُدُ الرَّبَّ: «هَلْ أُهَاجِمُ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ فَتَنْصُرَنِي عَلَيْهِم؟» فَأَجَابَهُ الرَّبُّ: «هَاجِمْهُمْ فَأَنْصُرَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ».

11 So David and his men went up to Baal-perazim, where he defeated the Philistines and said, “Like a bursting flood, God has burst out against my enemies by my hand.” So they called that place Baal-perazim.

11 فَتَوَجَّهَ دَاوُدُ إِلَى بَعْلِ فَرَاصِيمَ وَهَزَمَهُمْ هُنَاكَ. وَقَالَ دَاوُدُ: «قَدِ اقْتَحَمَ الرَّبُّ أَعْدَائِي كَاقْتِحَامِ الْمِيَاهِ الْمُتَدَفِّقَةِ». لِذَلِكَ دُعِيَ اسْمُ ذَلِكَ الْمَكَانِ بَعْلَ فَرَاصِيمَ (وَمَعْنَاهُ: سَيِّدُ الاقْتِحَامِ).

12 There the Philistines abandoned their gods, and David ordered that they be burned in the fire.

12 وَخَلَّفَ الْفِلِسْطِينِيُّونَ وَرَاءَهُمْ أَصْنَامَهُمْ، فَأَمَرَ دَاوُدُ بِجَمْعِهَا وَإِحْرَاقِهَا بالنَّارِ.

13 Once again the Philistines raided the valley.

13 ثُمَّ عَادَ الْفِلِسْطِينِيُّونَ وَاحْتَشَدُوا فِي وَادِي الرَّفَائِيِّينَ.

14 So David again inquired of God, who answered him, “Do not march up after them, but circle around them and attack them in front of the balsam trees.

14 فَاسْتَشَارَ دَاوُدُ اللهَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ اللهُ: «لا تُهَاجِمْهُمْ مُبَاشَرَةً، وَلَكِنْ دُرْ حَوْلَهُمْ وَهَاجِمْهُمْ مِنْ عِنْدِ أَشْجَارِ الْبَلْسَمِ.

15 As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, move out to battle, because this will mean that God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”

15 وَعِنْدَمَا تَسْمَعُ وَقْعَ خَطْوَاتٍ فَوْقَ رُؤُوسِ الأَشْجَارِ، خُضِ الْقِتَالَ، لأَنَّ اللهَ يَتَقَدَّمُكَ لِلْقَضَاءِ عَلَى قُوَّاتِ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ».

16 So David did as God had commanded him, and they struck down the army of the Philistines all the way from Gibeon to Gezer.

16 فَنَفَّذَ دَاوُدُ أَوَامِرَ الرَّبِّ، وَقَضَى عَلَى قُوَّاتِ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ مِنْ جِبْعُونَ إِلَى جَازِرَ.

17 And David’s fame went out into every land, and the LORD caused all nations to fear him.

17 فَذَاعَ اسْمُ دَاوُدَ فِي كُلِّ الْبِلادِ، وَجَعَلَ الرَّبُّ هَيْبَتَهُ تَطْغَى عَلى جَمِيعِ الأُمَمِ.
