1 Chronicles 25

1 Additionally, David and the commanders of the army set apart some of the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun to prophesy with the accompaniment of lyres, harps, and cymbals. The following is the list of the men who performed this service:

2 From the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asarelah. These sons of Asaph were under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied under the direction of the king.

2 Dos filhos de Asafe: Zacur, José, Netanias e Asarela. Os filhos de Asafe sob a sua direção, e ele, por sua vez, profetizava sob a orientação do rei.

3 From the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah—six in all—under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with the harp, giving thanks and praise to the LORD.

3 Dos filhos de Jedutum: Gedalias, Zeri, Jesaías, Hasabias, Simei e Matitias, seis ao todo. Jedutum profetizava, dando graças e louvando o Senhor, com acompanhamento de harpa.

4 From the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.

4 Dos filhos de Hemã: Buquias, Matanias, Uziel, Sebuel, Jerimote, Hananias, Hanani, Eliata, Gidalti, Romanti-Ézer, Josbecasa, Maloti, Hotir e Maaziote.

5 All these sons of Heman the king’s seer were given him through the promises of God to exalt him, for God had given Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

5 Hemã era vidente do rei, e Deus cumpriu a promessa de torná-lo poderoso e deu a esse homem quatorze filhos e três filhas.

6 All these were under the direction of their fathers for the music of the house of the LORD with cymbals, harps, and lyres, for the service of the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the direction of the king.

6 O trabalho de música desses homens incluía tocar címbalos, harpas e liras na casa de Deus. Os pais é que dirigiam os filhos, quando tocavam no templo do Senhor. Asafe, Jedutum e Hemã estavam sob a responsabilidade direta do rei.

7 Together with their relatives, who were all trained and skillful in the songs of the LORD, they numbered 288.

7 Eles e seus parentes eram todos preparados para cantar hinos de louvor ao Senhor. Eles totalizavam duzentos e oitenta e oito mestres na música.

8 They cast lots for their duties, young and old alike, teacher as well as pupil.

8 Os cantores eram indicados para o seu tempo de serviço por sorteio, sem levar em conta a idade ou importância.

9 The first lot, which was for Asaph, fell to Joseph, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all; the second to Gedaliah, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;

9 O primeiro sorteio indicou José, da família de Asafe, com seus filhos e parentes; eram ao todo doze; o segundo, Gedalias, junto com doze de seus filhos e irmãos;

10 the third to Zaccur, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;

11 the fourth to Izri, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;

11 o quarto, Izri e doze de seus filhos e irmãos;

12 the fifth to Nethaniah, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;

13 the sixth to Bukkiah, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;

13 o sexto, Buquias e doze de seus filhos e irmãos;

14 the seventh to Jesarelah, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;

15 the eighth to Jeshaiah, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
