John 17

1 When Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may glorify You.

1 Quando Jesus acabou de dizer todas essas coisas, levantou os olhos ao céu e disse: “Pai, chegou a hora. Glorifique o seu Filho, para que o seu Filho possa glorificar o Senhor.

2 For You granted Him authority over all people, so that He may give eternal life to all those You have given Him.

2 Pois o Senhor tem dado autoridade sobre toda a humanidade, para que ele dê a vida eterna a cada um que o Senhor deu a ele.

3 Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

3 E esta é a vida eterna: conhecer o único Deus verdadeiro, e a Jesus Cristo, que o Senhor enviou!

4 I have glorified You on earth by accomplishing the work You gave Me to do.

4 Eu glorifiquei o Senhor sobre a terra, completando a obra que me mandou fazer.

5 And now, Father, glorify Me in Your presence with the glory I had with You before the world existed.

5 E agora, Pai, glorifique-me junto ao Senhor, com a glória que tínhamos juntos, antes do princípio do mundo.

6 I have revealed Your name to those You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours; You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

6 “Eu revelei a estes homens que o Senhor tirou do mundo e me deu quem o Senhor é. Realmente, eles sempre foram seus, e eu os recebi, e eles obedeceram à sua palavra.

7 Now they know that everything You have given Me comes from You.

7 Agora eles sabem que tudo o que eu tenho provém do Senhor,

8 For I have given them the words You gave Me, and they have received them. They knew with certainty that I came from You, and they believed that You sent Me.

8 porque eu transmiti a eles as ordens que o Senhor me deu; eles as aceitaram e sabem com plena certeza que eu vim do Senhor, e creem que o Senhor me enviou.

9 I ask on their behalf. I do not ask on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those You have given Me; for they are Yours.

9 “Eu peço em favor deles. Meu pedido não é pelo mundo, mas por aqueles que o Senhor me deu, porque eles são seus.

10 All I have is Yours, and all You have is Mine; and in them I have been glorified.

10 E tudo o que tenho é seu, e tudo o que o Senhor tem é meu. E eu tenho sido glorificado por meio deles!

11 I will no longer be in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, protect them by Your name, the name You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one.

11 Agora eu estou saindo do mundo, e deixando todos aqui, e eu vou para a sua presença. Pai santo, guarde-os com o seu nome, o nome que o Senhor deu a mim, para que, tal como nós, eles sejam um.

12 While I was with them, I protected and preserved them by Your name, the name You gave Me. Not one of them has been lost, except the son of destruction, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.

12 Durante minha permanência aqui com eles, eu os protegi e os guardei em segurança no nome que o Senhor me deu. Eu os guardei de tal maneira que nenhum deles se perdeu, a não ser o filho da perdição, como as Escrituras tinham predito.

13 But now I am coming to You; and I am saying these things while I am in the world, so that they may have My joy fulfilled within them.

13 “E agora vou para a sua presença. Eu lhes disse estas coisas enquanto estava com eles no mundo, para que ficassem transbordando da minha alegria.

14 I have given them Your word and the world has hated them. For they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

14 Eu lhes transmiti a sua palavra. E o mundo os odeia, porque eles não são do mundo, como eu também não sou.

15 I am not asking that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one.

15 Não estou pedindo que o Senhor os tire do mundo, mas que o Senhor os proteja do Maligno.

16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

16 Eles não são deste mundo, como eu também não sou.

17 Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth.

17 Que o Senhor faça todos puros e santos, ensinando-lhes a verdade; a sua palavra é a verdade.

18 As You sent Me into the world, I have also sent them into the world.

18 Assim como o Senhor me enviou ao mundo, eu os estou enviando ao mundo.

19 For them I sanctify Myself, so that they too may be sanctified by the truth.

19 Eu me santifico em favor deles, para que também eles sejam santificados pela verdade.

20 I am not asking on behalf of them alone, but also on behalf of those who will believe in Me through their message,

20 “Não estou orando somente por eles, mas também por aqueles que crerão em mim no futuro por causa do testemunho deles.

21 that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

21 Minha oração por todos eles é que sejam um, tal como eu e o Senhor somos, ó Pai. Porque assim como o Senhor está em mim e eu no Senhor, assim estejam eles em nós, para que o mundo creia que o Senhor me enviou.

22 I have given them the glory You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one—

22 Eu dei a eles a glória que o Senhor me deu, para serem um, como nós somos um:

23 I in them and You in Me—that they may be perfectly united, so that the world may know that You sent Me and have loved them just as You have loved Me.

23 eu neles e o Senhor em mim, para que todos sejam levados à completa unidade, para que o mundo saiba que o Senhor me enviou, e compreenda que o Senhor os ama tanto quanto me ama.

24 Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am, that they may see the glory You gave Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

24 “Pai, eu os quero comigo, estes que o Senhor me deu, para que eles possam ver a minha glória, a glória que o Senhor me deu porque me amou antes da criação do mundo.

25 Righteous Father, although the world has not known You, I know You, and they know that You sent Me.

25 “Ó Pai justo, o mundo não conhece o Senhor, mas eu o conheço, e estes sabem que o Senhor me enviou.

26 And I have made Your name known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love You have for Me may be in them, and I in them.”

26 E eu revelei a eles o seu nome, e continuarei a fazê-lo, para que o amor que o Senhor tem por mim possa estar neles, e eu esteja neles”.
