Numbers 1

1 On the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt, the LORD spoke to Moses in the Tent of Meeting in the Wilderness of Sinai. He said:

1 No primeiro dia do segundo mês do segundo ano depois que os israelitas saíram do Egito, o Senhor deu as seguintes ordens a Moisés, no Tabernáculo, no deserto do Sinai:

2 “Take a census of the whole congregation of Israel by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one.

2 “Façam um recenseamento, você e Arão, de toda a comunidade de Israel, por grupos de famílias e por famílias, contando todos os homens, um por um,

3 You and Aaron are to number those who are twenty years of age or older by their divisions—everyone who can serve in Israel’s army.

3 com vinte anos de idade ou mais, que estão aptos para ir à guerra em Israel, organizados segundo as suas divisões.

4 And one man from each tribe, the head of each family, must be there with you.

4 Um homem de cada tribo, o chefe de grupo de famílias, ajudará vocês.

5 These are the names of the men who are to assist you: From the tribe of Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;

5 Estes são os nomes dos homens que vão ajudar vocês na contagem: “de Rúben, Elizur, filho de Sedeur;

6 from Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;

6 de Simeão, Selumiel, filho de Zurisadai;

7 from Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;

7 de Judá, Naassom, filho de Aminadabe;

8 from Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar;

8 de Issacar, Natanael, filho de Zuar;

9 from Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;

9 de Zebulom, Eliabe, filho de Helom;

10 from the sons of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud, and from Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;

10 dos filhos de José: de Efraim, Elisama, filho de Amiúde; de Manassés, Gamaliel, filho de Pedazur;

11 from Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;

11 de Benjamim, Abidã, filho de Gideoni;

12 from Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;

12 de Dã, Aiezer, filho de Amisadai;

13 from Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran;

13 de Aser, Pagiel, filho de Ocrã;

14 from Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel;

14 de Gade, Eliasafe, filho de Deuel;

15 and from Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.”

15 de Naftali, Aira, filho de Enã”.

16 These men were appointed from the congregation; they were the leaders of the tribes of their fathers, the heads of the clans of Israel.

16 Esses foram os líderes das tribos dos seus antepassados, chefes dos grupos de famílias, escolhidos dentre a comunidade de Israel.

17 So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name,

17 Então, Moisés e Arão reuniram os líderes escolhidos

18 and on the first day of the second month they assembled the whole congregation and recorded their ancestry by clans and families, counting one by one the names of those twenty years of age or older,

18 e convocaram toda a comunidade no primeiro dia do segundo mês; reuniram todos os homens de Israel de vinte anos de idade ou mais para fazer a contagem por grupos de famílias e por famílias, um por um, pelo nome.

19 just as the LORD had commanded Moses. So Moses numbered them in the Wilderness of Sinai:

19 Fizeram como o Senhor tinha ordenado a Moisés e assim os contaram no deserto do Sinai.

20 From the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, according to the records of their clans and families, counting one by one the names of every male twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

20 Dos descendentes de Rúben, o filho mais velho de Israel: Todos os homens de vinte anos ou mais que eram aptos para ir para a guerra foram relacionados, segundo a sua origem, cada um de acordo com o seu grupo de famílias e na sua família.

21 those registered to the tribe of Reuben numbered 46,500.

21 Foram contados ao todo da tribo de Rúben 46.500 homens.

22 From the sons of Simeon, according to the records of their clans and families, counting one by one the names of every male twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

22 Dos descendentes de Simeão: Todos os homens de vinte anos ou mais que eram aptos para ir para a guerra foram relacionados, segundo a sua origem, cada um de acordo com o seu grupo de famílias e na sua família.

23 those registered to the tribe of Simeon numbered 59,300.

23 Foram contados ao todo da tribo de Simeão 59.300 homens.

24 From the sons of Gad, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

24 Dos descendentes de Gade: Todos os homens de vinte anos ou mais que eram aptos para ir para a guerra foram relacionados, segundo a sua origem, cada um de acordo com o seu grupo de famílias e na sua família.

25 those registered to the tribe of Gad numbered 45,650.

26 From the sons of Judah, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

26 Dos descendentes de Judá: Todos os homens de vinte anos ou mais que eram aptos para ir para a guerra foram relacionados, segundo a sua origem, cada um de acordo com o seu grupo de famílias e na sua família.

27 those registered to the tribe of Judah numbered 74,600.

28 From the sons of Issachar, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

28 Dos descendentes de Issacar: Todos os homens de vinte anos ou mais que eram aptos para ir para a guerra foram relacionados, segundo a sua origem, cada um de acordo com o seu grupo de famílias e na sua família.

29 those registered to the tribe of Issachar numbered 54,400.

30 From the sons of Zebulun, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

30 Dos descendentes de Zebulom: Todos os homens de vinte anos ou mais que eram aptos para ir para a guerra foram relacionados, segundo a sua origem, cada um de acordo com o seu grupo de famílias e na sua família.

31 those registered to the tribe of Zebulun numbered 57,400.

32 From the sons of Joseph: From the sons of Ephraim, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

32 Dos filhos de José: Dos descendentes de Efraim: Todos os homens de vinte anos ou mais que eram aptos para ir para a guerra foram relacionados, segundo a sua origem, cada um de acordo com o seu grupo de famílias e na sua família.

33 those registered to the tribe of Ephraim numbered 40,500.

33 Foram contados ao todo da tribo de Efraim 40.500 homens.

34 And from the sons of Manasseh, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

34 Dos descendentes de Manassés: Todos os homens de vinte anos ou mais que eram aptos para ir para a guerra foram relacionados, segundo a sua origem, cada um de acordo com o seu grupo de famílias e na sua família.

35 those registered to the tribe of Manasseh numbered 32,200.

35 Foram contados ao todo da tribo de Manassés 32.200 homens.

36 From the sons of Benjamin, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

36 Dos descendentes de Benjamin: Todos os homens de vinte anos ou mais que eram aptos para ir para a guerra foram relacionados, segundo a sua origem, cada um de acordo com o seu grupo de famílias e na sua família.

37 those registered to the tribe of Benjamin numbered 35,400.

37 Foram contados ao todo da tribo de Benjamin 35.400 homens.

38 From the sons of Dan, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

38 Dos descendentes de Dã: Todos os homens de vinte anos ou mais que eram aptos para ir para a guerra foram relacionados, segundo a sua origem, cada um de acordo com o seu grupo de famílias e na sua família.

39 those registered to the tribe of Dan numbered 62,700.

39 Foram contados ao todo da tribo de Dã 62.700 homens.

40 From the sons of Asher, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

40 Dos descendentes de Aser: Todos os homens de vinte anos ou mais que eram aptos para ir para a guerra foram relacionados, segundo a sua origem, cada um de acordo com o seu grupo de famílias e na sua família.

41 those registered to the tribe of Asher numbered 41,500.

41 Foram contados ao todo da tribo de Aser 41.500 homens.

42 From the sons of Naphtali, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

42 Dos descendentes de Naftali: Todos os homens de vinte anos ou mais que eram aptos para ir para a guerra foram relacionados, segundo a sua origem, cada um de acordo com o seu grupo de famílias e na sua família.

43 those registered to the tribe of Naphtali numbered 53,400.

43 Foram contados ao todo da tribo de Naftali 53.400 homens.

44 These were the men numbered by Moses and Aaron, with the assistance of the twelve leaders of Israel, each one representing his family.

44 Esses foram os homens contados por Moisés e Arão e pelos doze líderes das tribos de Israel, cada um representando a sua família.

45 So all the Israelites twenty years of age or older who could serve in Israel’s army were counted according to their families.

45 Todos os homens israelitas de vinte anos ou mais que estavam aptos para ir para a guerra, de acordo com as suas famílias,

46 And all those counted totaled 603,550.

46 somaram um total de 603.550 homens.

47 The Levites, however, were not numbered along with them by the tribe of their fathers.

47 Este total, porém, não incluiu os levitas,

48 For the LORD had said to Moses:

48 porque o Senhor disse a Moisés:

49 “Do not number the tribe of Levi in the census with the other Israelites.

49 “Você não deve fazer o recenseamento da tribo de Levi nem relacione o número de levitas no total geral dos israelitas.

50 Instead, you are to appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the Testimony, all its furnishings, and everything in it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles, care for it, and camp around it.

50 Mas diga aos levitas que se responsabilizem pelo cuidado do Tabernáculo, das tábuas da aliança, de todos os utensílios e por tudo o que pertence a ele. Eles levarão o Tabernáculo e todos os seus utensílios, e acamparão junto a ele.

51 Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever it is to be pitched, the Levites are to set it up. Any outsider who goes near it must be put to death.

51 Sempre que o Tabernáculo tiver de ser removido, só os levitas poderão desmontar e armar o Tabernáculo. Qualquer estranho não autorizado que se aproximar do Tabernáculo morrerá.

52 The Israelites are to camp by their divisions, each man in his own camp and under his own standard.

52 Cada tribo de Israel terá o seu próprio acampamento e armará as suas tendas separadamente, segundo as suas divisões, e nesse lugar ficará a bandeira da tribo.

53 But the Levites are to camp around the tabernacle of the Testimony and watch over it, so that no wrath will fall on the congregation of Israel. So the Levites are responsible for the tabernacle of the Testimony.”

53 Mas os levitas armarão o seu acampamento ao redor do Tabernáculo que guarda as tábuas da aliança, para cuidar do Tabernáculo e para que a comunidade de Israel não seja atingida pela ira de Deus”.

54 Thus the Israelites did everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

54 Então os filhos de Israel obedeceram a tudo o que o Senhor havia ordenado a Moisés.
