Matthew 13

1 That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea.

1 यह घटना उस दिन की है जब येशु घर से बाहर झील के किनारे पर बैठे हुए थे.

2 Such large crowds gathered around Him that He got into a boat and sat down, while all the people stood on the shore.

2 एक बड़ी भीड़ उनके चारों ओर इकट्ठा हो गयी. इसलिये वह एक नाव में जा बैठे और भीड़ झील के तट पर रह गयी.

3 And He told them many things in parables, saying, “A farmer went out to sow his seed.

3 उन्होंने भीड़ से दृष्टान्तों में अनेक विषयों पर चर्चा की. येशु ने कहा: “एक किसान बीज बोने के लिए निकला.

4 And as he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.

4 बीज बोने में कुछ बीज तो मार्ग के किनारे गिरे, जिन्हें पक्षियों ने आकर चुग लिया.

5 Some fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly because the soil was shallow.

5 कुछ अन्य बीज पथरीली भूमि पर भी जा गिरे, जहां पर्याप्‍त मिट्टी नहीं थी. पर्याप्‍त मिट्टी न होने के कारण वे जल्दी ही अंकुरित भी हो गए.

6 But when the sun rose, the seedlings were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.

6 किंतु जब सूर्योदय हुआ, वे झुलस गए और इसलिये कि उन्होंने जड़ें ही नहीं पकड़ी थी, वे मुरझा गए.

7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the seedlings.

7 कुछ अन्य बीज कंटीली झाड़ियों में जा गिरे और झाड़ियों ने बढ़कर उन्हें दबा दिया.

8 Still other seed fell on good soil and produced a crop—a hundredfold, sixtyfold, or thirtyfold.

8 कुछ बीज अच्छी भूमि पर गिरे और फल लाए. यह उपज सौ गुणी, साठ गुणी, तीस गुणी थी.

9 He who has ears, let him hear.”

9 जिसके सुनने के कान हों, वह सुन ले.”

10 Then the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Why do You speak to the people in parables?”

10 येशु के शिष्यों ने उनके पास आकर उनसे प्रश्न किया, “गुरुवर, आप लोगों को दृष्टान्तों में ही शिक्षा क्यों देते हैं?”

11 He replied, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.

11 उसके उत्तर में येशु ने कहा, “स्वर्ग-राज्य के रहस्य जानने की क्षमता तुम्हें तो प्रदान की गई है, उन्हें नहीं.

12 Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

12 क्योंकि जिस किसी के पास है उसे और अधिक प्रदान किया जाएगा और वह सम्पन्‍न हो जाएगा किंतु जिसके पास नहीं है उससे वह भी ले लिया जाएगा, जो उसके पास है.

13 This is why I speak to them in parables: ‘Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.’

13 यही कारण है कि मैं लोगों को दृष्टान्तों में शिक्षा देता हूं: “क्योंकि वे देखते हुए भी कुछ नहीं देखते तथा सुनते हुए भी कुछ नहीं सुनते और न उन्हें इसका अर्थ ही समझ आता है.

14 In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled: ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.

14 उनकी इसी स्थिति के विषय में भविष्यवक्ता यशायाह की यह भविष्यवाणी पूरी हो रही है: “ ‘तुम सुनते तो रहोगे किंतु समझोगे नहीं; तुम देखते तो रहोगे किंतु तुम्हें कोई ज्ञान न होगा;

15 For this people’s heart has grown callous; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.’

15 क्योंकि इन लोगों का मन-मस्तिष्क मंद पड़ चुका है. वे अपने कानों से ऊंचा ही सुना करते हैं. उन्होंने अपनी आंखें मूंद रखी हैं कि कहीं वे अपनी आंखों से देखने न लगें, कानों से सुनने न लगें तथा अपने हृदय से समझने न लगें और मेरी ओर फिर जाएं कि मैं उन्हें स्वस्थ कर दूं.’

16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.

16 धन्य हैं तुम्हारी आंखें क्योंकि वे देखती हैं और तुम्हारे कान क्योंकि वे सुनते हैं.

17 For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

17 मैं तुम पर एक सच प्रकट कर रहा हूं: अनेक भविष्यवक्ता और धर्मी व्यक्ति वह देखने की कामना करते रहे, जो तुम देख रहे हो किंतु वे देख न सके तथा वे वह सुनने की कामना करते रहे, जो तुम सुन रहे हो किंतु सुन न सके.

18 Consider, then, the parable of the sower:

18 “अब तुम किसान का दृष्टांत सुनो:

19 When anyone hears the message of the kingdom but does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path.

19 जब कोई व्यक्ति राज्य के विषय में सुनता है किंतु उसे समझा नहीं करता, शैतान आता है और वह, जो उसके हृदय में रोपा गया है, झपटकर ले जाता है. यह वह बीज है जो मार्ग के किनारे गिर गया था.

20 The seed sown on rocky ground is the one who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.

20 पथरीली भूमि वह व्यक्ति है, जो संदेश को सुनता है तथा तुरंत ही उसे खुशी से अपना लेता है

21 But since he has no root, he remains for only a season. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.

21 किंतु इसलिये कि उसकी जड़ है ही नहीं, वह थोड़े दिन के लिए ही उसमें टिक पाता है. जब संदेश के कारण यातनाएं और सताहट प्रारंभ होते हैं, उसका पतन हो जाता है.

22 The seed sown among the thorns is the one who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

22 वह भूमि, जहां बीज कंटीली झाड़ियों के बीच गिरा, वह व्यक्ति है जो संदेश को सुनता तो है किंतु संसार की चिंताएं तथा सम्पन्‍नता का छलावा संदेश को दबा देते हैं और वह बिना फल के रह जाता है.

23 But the seed sown on good soil is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and produces a crop—a hundredfold, sixtyfold, or thirtyfold.”

23 वह उत्तम भूमि, जिस पर बीज रोपा गया, वह व्यक्ति है, जो संदेश को सुनता है, उसे समझता है तथा वास्तव में फल लाता है—बोये गये बीज के तीस गुणा, साठ गुणा तथा सौ गुणा.”

24 Jesus put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.

24 येशु ने उनके सामने एक अन्य दृष्टांत प्रस्तुत किया: “स्वर्ग-राज्य की तुलना उस व्यक्ति से की जा सकती है, जिसने अपने खेत में उत्तम बीज का रोपण किया.

25 But while everyone was asleep, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and slipped away.

25 जब उसके सेवक सो रहे थे, उसका शत्रु आया और गेहूं के बीज के मध्य जंगली बीज रोप कर चला गया.

26 When the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the weeds also appeared.

26 जब गेहूं के अंकुर फूटे और बालें आईं तब जंगली बीज के पौधे भी दिखाई दिए.

27 The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’

27 “इस पर सेवकों ने आकर अपने स्वामी से पूछा, ‘स्वामी, आपने तो अपने खेत में उत्तम बीज रोपे थे! तो फिर ये जंगली पौधे कहां से आ गए?’

28 ‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. So the servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’

28 “स्वामी ने उत्तर दिया, ‘यह काम शत्रु का है.’ “तब सेवकों ने उससे पूछा, ‘क्या आप चाहते हैं कि हम इन्हें उखाड़ फेंकें?’

29 ‘No,’ he said, ‘if you pull the weeds now, you might uproot the wheat with them.

29 “उस व्यक्ति ने उत्तर दिया, ‘नहीं, ऐसा न हो कि जंगली पौधे उखाड़ते हुए तुम गेहूं भी उखाड़ डालो.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat into my barn.’”

30 गेहूं तथा जंगली पौधों को कटनी तक साथ साथ बढ़ने दो. उस समय मैं मज़दूरों को आज्ञा दूंगा, जंगली पौधे इकट्ठा कर उनकी पुलियां बांध दो कि उन्हें जला दिया जाए किंतु गेहूं मेरे खलिहान में इकट्ठा कर दो.’”

31 He put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a man took and planted in his field.

31 येशु ने उनके सामने एक अन्य दृष्टांत प्रस्तुत किया: “स्वर्ग-राज्य एक राई के बीज के समान है, जिसे एक व्यक्ति ने अपने खेत में रोप दिया.

32 Although it is the smallest of all seeds, yet it grows into the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”

32 यह अन्य सभी बीजों की तुलना में छोटा होता है किंतु जब यह पूरा विकसित हुआ तब खेत के सभी पौधों से अधिक बड़ा हो गया और फिर वह बढ़कर एक पेड़ में बदल गया कि आकाश के पक्षी आकर उसकी डालियों में बसेरा करने लगे.”

33 He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour, until all of it was leavened.”

33 येशु ने उनके सामने एक और दृष्टांत प्रस्तुत किया: “स्वर्ग-राज्य खमीर के समान है, जिसे एक स्त्री ने लेकर तीन माप आटे में मिला दिया और होते-होते सारा आटा खमीर बन गया, यद्यपि आटा बड़ी मात्रा में था.”

34 Jesus spoke all these things to the crowds in parables. He did not tell them anything without using a parable.

34 येशु ने ये पूरी शिक्षाएं भीड़ को दृष्टान्तों में दीं. कोई भी शिक्षा ऐसी न थी, जो दृष्टांत में न दी गई

35 So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet: “I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden since the foundation of the world.”

35 कि भविष्यवक्ता द्वारा की गई यह भविष्यवाणी पूरी हो जाए: मैं दृष्टान्तों में वार्तालाप करूंगा, मैं वह सब कहूंगा, जो सृष्टि के आरंभ से गुप्‍त है.

36 Then Jesus dismissed the crowds and went into the house. His disciples came to Him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”

36 जब येशु भीड़ को छोड़कर घर के भीतर चले गए, उनके शिष्यों ने उनके पास आकर उनसे विनती की, “गुरुवर, हमें खेत के जंगली बीज का दृष्टांत समझा दीजिए.”

37 He replied, “The One who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.

37 येशु ने दृष्टांत की व्याख्या इस प्रकार की, “अच्छे बीज बोनेवाला मनुष्य का पुत्र है.

38 The field is the world, and the good seed represents the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one,

38 खेत यह संसार है. अच्छा बीज राज्य की संतान हैं तथा जंगली बीज शैतान की.

39 and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.

39 शत्रु, जिसने उनको बोया है, शैतान है. कटनी इस युग का अंत तथा काटने के लिए निर्धारित मज़दूर स्वर्गदूत हैं.

40 As the weeds are collected and burned in the fire, so will it be at the end of the age.

40 “इसलिये ठीक जिस प्रकार जंगली पौधे कटने के बाद आग में भस्म कर दिए जाते हैं, युग के अंत में ऐसा ही होगा.

41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will weed out of His kingdom every cause of sin and all who practice lawlessness.

41 मनुष्य का पुत्र अपने स्वर्गदूतों को भेजेगा और वे उसके राज्य में पतन के सभी कारणों तथा कुकर्मियों को इकट्ठा करेंगे और

42 And they will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

42 उन्हें आग कुंड में झोंक देंगे, जहां लगातार रोना तथा दांतों का पीसना होता रहेगा.

43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

43 तब धर्मी अपने पिता के राज्य में सूर्य के समान चमकेंगे. जिसके सुनने के कान हों, वह सुन ले.”

44 The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and in his joy he went and sold all he had and bought that field.

44 “स्वर्ग-राज्य खेत में छिपाए गए उस खजाने के समान है, जिसे एक व्यक्ति ने पाया और दोबारा छिपा दिया. आनंद में उसने अपनी सारी संपत्ति बेचकर उस खेत को मोल ले लिया.

45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls.

45 “स्वर्ग-राज्य उस व्यापारी के समान है, जो अच्छे मोतियों की खोज में था.

46 When he found one very precious pearl, he went away and sold all he had and bought it.

46 एक कीमती मोती मिल जाने पर उसने अपनी सारी संपत्ति बेचकर उस मोती को मोल ले लिया.

47 Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was cast into the sea and caught all kinds of fish.

47 “स्वर्ग-राज्य समुद्र में डाले गए उस जाल के समान है, जिसमें सभी प्रजातियों की मछलियां आ जाती हैं.

48 When it was full, the men pulled it ashore. Then they sat down and sorted the good fish into containers, but threw the bad away.

48 जब वह जाल भर गया और खींचकर तट पर लाया गया, उन्होंने बैठकर अच्छी मछलियों को टोकरी में इकट्ठा कर लिया तथा निकम्मी को फेंक दिया.

49 So will it be at the end of the age: The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous

49 युग के अंत में ऐसा ही होगा. स्वर्गदूत आएंगे और दुष्टों को धर्मियों के मध्य से निकालकर अलग करेंगे

50 and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

50 तथा उन्हें आग के कुंड में झोंक देंगे, जहां रोना तथा दांतों का पीसना होता रहेगा.

51 Have you understood all these things?” “Yes,” they answered.

51 “क्या तुम्हें अब यह सब समझ आया?” उन्होंने उत्तर दिया. “जी हां, प्रभु.”

52 Then He told them, “For this reason, every scribe who has been discipled in the kingdom of heaven is like a homeowner who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.”

52 येशु ने उनसे कहा, “यही कारण है कि व्यवस्था का हर एक शिक्षक, जो स्वर्ग-राज्य के विषय में प्रशिक्षित किया जा चुका है, परिवार के प्रधान के समान है, जो अपने भंडार से नई और पुरानी हर एक वस्तु को निकाल लाता है.”

53 When Jesus had finished these parables, He withdrew from that place.

53 दृष्टान्तों में अपनी शिक्षा दे चुकने पर येशु उस स्थान से चले गए.

54 Coming to His hometown, He taught the people in their synagogue, and they were astonished. “Where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers?” they asked.

54 तब येशु अपने गृहनगर में आए और वहां वह यहूदी सभागृह में लोगों को शिक्षा देने लगे. इस पर वे चकित होकर आपस में कहने लगे, “इस व्यक्ति को यह ज्ञान तथा इन अद्भुत कामों का सामर्थ्य कैसे प्राप्‍त हो गया?

55 “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t His mother’s name Mary, and aren’t His brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?

55 क्या यह उस बढ़ई का पुत्र नहीं? और क्या इसकी माता का नाम मरियम नहीं और क्या याकोब, योसेफ़, शिमओन और यहूदाह इसके भाई नहीं?

56 Aren’t all His sisters with us as well? Where then did this man get all these things?”

56 और क्या इसकी बहनें हमारे बीच नहीं? तब इसे ये सब कैसे प्राप्‍त हो गया?”

57 And they took offense at Him. But Jesus said to them, “Only in his hometown and in his own household is a prophet without honor.”

57 वे येशु के प्रति क्रोध से भर गए. इस पर येशु ने उनसे कहा, “अपने गृहनगर और परिवार के अलावा भविष्यवक्ता कहीं भी अपमानित नहीं होता.”

58 And He did not do many miracles there, because of their unbelief.

58 लोगों के अविश्वास के कारण येशु ने उस नगर में अधिक अद्भुत काम नहीं किए.
