Psalms 107

1 Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His loving devotion endures forever.

1 ارْفَعُوا الشُّكْرَ لِلرَّبِّ لأَنَّهُ صَالِحٌ، وَرَحْمَتَهُ إِلَى الأَبَدِ تَدُومُ.

2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy

2 لِيَقُلْ هَذَا مَفْدِيُّو الرَّبِّ، الَّذِينَ افْتَدَاهُمْ مِنْ يَدِ ظَالِمِهِمْ.

3 and gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.

3 لَمَّ شَتَاتَهُمْ مِنَ الْبُلْدَانِ: مِنَ الشَّرْقِ وَالْغَرْبِ، مِنَ الشِّمَالِ وَالْجَنُوبِ.

4 Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no path to a city in which to dwell.

4 تَاهُوا فِي الْبَرِّيَّةِ، فِي صَحْرَاءَ بِلَا طَرِيقٍ، وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا مَدِينَةً يَسْكُنُونَ فِيهَا.

5 They were hungry and thirsty; their soul fainted within them.

5 جَاعُوا وَعَطِشُوا حَتَّى خَارَتْ نُفُوسُهُمْ فِي دَاخِلِهِمْ.

6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress.

6 فَاسْتَغَاثُوا بِالرَّبِّ فِي ضِيقِهِمْ، فَأَنْقَذَهُمْ مِنْ مَصَائِبِهِمْ.

7 He led them on a straight path to reach a city where they could live.

7 وَهَدَاهُمْ طَرِيقاً مُسْتَقِيماً لِيَتَوَجَّهُوا إِلَى مَدِينَةٍ لِلسَّكَنِ.

8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving devotion and His wonders to the sons of men.

8 فَلْيَرْفَعُوا الشُّكْرَ لِلرَّبِّ عَلَى رَحْمَتِهِ وَعَلَى عَجَائِبِهِ لِبَنِي آدَمَ.

9 For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

9 لأَنَّهُ أَشْبَعَ النَّفْسَ الْمُتَلَهِّفَةَ وَمَلأَ النَّفْسَ الْجَائِعَةَ خَيْراً.

10 Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in affliction and chains,

10 كَانُوا جَالِسِينَ كَالأَسْرَى فِي الظَّلامِ وَظِلالِ الْمَوْتِ، مُوْثَقِينَ بِالذُّلِّ وَالْحَدِيدِ،

11 because they rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High.

11 لأَنَّهُمْ تَمَرَّدُوا عَلَى كَلامِ اللهِ، وَاسْتَهَانُوا بِمَشُورَةِ الْعَلِيِّ.

12 He humbled their hearts with hard labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.

12 فَأَذَلَّ قُلُوبَهُمْ بِالْجَهْدِ الْمُضْنِي. تَعَثَّرُوا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ مِنْ مُعِينٍ.

13 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress.

13 ثُمَّ اسْتَغَاثُوا بِالرَّبِّ فِي ضِيقِهِمْ فَأَنْقَذَهُمْ مِنْ مَصَائِبِهِمْ.

14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke away their chains.

14 أَخْرَجَهُمْ مِنَ الظَّلامِ وَظِلالِ الْمَوْتِ وَحَطَّمَ قُيُودَهُمْ.

15 Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving devotion and His wonders to the sons of men.

15 فَلْيَرْفَعُوا الشُّكْرَ لِلرَّبِّ عَلَى رَحْمَتِهِ، وَعَلَى عَجَائِبِهِ لِبَنِي آدَمَ.

16 For He has broken down the gates of bronze and cut through the bars of iron.

16 لأَنَّهُ كَسَّرَ أَبْوَابَ النُّحَاسِ، وَقَطَّعَ عَوَارِضَ الْحَدِيدِ.

17 Fools, in their rebellious ways, and through their iniquities, suffered affliction.

17 سَفِهُوا فِي جَهْلِهِمْ وَسَقِمُوا مِنْ جَرَّاءِ آثَامِهِمْ.

18 They loathed all food and drew near to the gates of death.

18 عَافَتْ أَنْفُسُهُمْ كُلَّ طَعَامٍ، فَصَارُوا عَلَى شَفَا الْمَوْتِ.

19 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress.

19 ثُمَّ اسْتَغَاثُوا بِالرَّبِّ فِي ضِيقِهِمْ، فَأَنْقَذَهُمْ مِنْ مَصَائِبِهِمْ.

20 He sent forth His word and healed them; He rescued them from the Pit.

20 أَصْدَرَ أَمْرَهُ فَشَفَاهُمْ، وَخَلَّصَهُمْ مِنْ مَهَالِكِهِمْ.

21 Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving devotion and His wonders to the sons of men.

21 فَلْيَرْفَعُوا الشُّكْرَ لِلرَّبِّ عَلَى رَحْمَتِهِ، وَعَلَى عَجَائِبِهِ لِبَنِي آدَمَ.

22 Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare His works with rejoicing.

22 وَلْيُقَرِّبُوا لَهُ ذَبَائِحَ الشُّكْرِ، وَيُحَدِّثُوا بِأَعْمَالِهِ بِتَرَانِيمِ الْفَرَحِ.

23 Others went out to sea in ships, conducting trade on the mighty waters.

23 رَكِبَ بَعْضُهُمُ الْبِحَارَ فِي السُّفُنِ التِّجَارِيَّةِ، لِيَكْسَبُوا رِزْقَهُمْ،

24 They saw the works of the LORD, and His wonders in the deep.

24 وَرَأَوْا أَعْمَالَ الرَّبِّ وَعَجَائِبَهُ فِي عُمْقِ الْمِيَاهِ.

25 For He spoke and raised a tempest that lifted the waves of the sea.

25 فَإِنَّهُ بِأَمْرِهِ أَثَارَ رِيحاً عَاصِفَةً فَأَهَاجَتْ أَمْوَاجَ الْبَحْرِ

26 They mounted up to the heavens, then sunk to the depths; their courage melted in their anguish.

26 فَارْتَفَعَتِ السُّفُنُ إِلَى الأَعَالِي، ثُمَّ هَبَطَتْ إِلَى الأَعْمَاقِ، حَتَّى ذَابَتْ نُفُوسُهُمْ مِنَ الْفَزَعِ.

27 They reeled and staggered like drunkards, and all their skill was useless.

27 تَمَايَلُوا وَتَرَنَّحُوا مِثْلَ السَّكْرَانِ، وَأَعْيَتْهُمُ الْحِيلَةُ.

28 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distress.

28 ثُمَّ اسْتَغَاثُوا بِالرَّبِّ فِي ضِيقِهِمْ، فَأَنْقَذَهُمْ مِنْ مَصَائِبِهِمْ.

29 He calmed the storm to a whisper, and the waves of the sea were hushed.

29 هَدَّأَ الْعَاصِفَةَ الشَّدِيدَةَ، وَسَكَّنَ الأَمْوَاجَ.

30 They rejoiced in the silence, and He guided them to the harbor they desired.

30 فَفَرِحُوا بِهُدُوئِهَا، ثُمَّ اقْتَادَهُمْ إِلَى الْمَرْفَأ الْمَنْشُودِ.

31 Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving devotion and His wonders to the sons of men.

31 فَلْيَرْفَعُوا الشُّكْرَ عَلَى رَحْمَتِهِ، وَعَلَى عَجَائِبِهِ لِبَنِي آدَمَ.

32 Let them exalt Him in the assembly of the people and praise Him in the council of the elders.

32 وَلْيُعَظِّمُوهُ فِي مَحْفَلِ الشَّعْبِ، وَلْيُسَبِّحُوهُ فِي اجْتِمَاعِ الشُّيُوخِ.

33 He turns rivers into deserts, springs of water into thirsty ground,

33 إِنَّهُ يُحَوِّلُ الأَنْهَارَ إِلَى قِفَارٍ، وَيَنَابِيعَ الْمَاءِ إِلَى أَرْضٍ عَطْشَى.

34 and fruitful land into fields of salt, because of the wickedness of its dwellers.

34 يَجْعَلُ الْحُقُولَ الْخَصِيبَةَ أَرْضاً مَلِحَةً جَرْدَاءَ مِنْ جَرَّاءِ شَرِّ سُكَّانِهَا.

35 He turns a desert into pools of water and a dry land into flowing springs.

35 يُحَوِّلُ الْبَرِّيَّةَ إِلَى وَاحَةٍ، وَالأَرْضَ الْقَاحِلَةَ يَنَابِيعَ مِيَاهٍ.

36 He causes the hungry to settle there, that they may establish a city in which to dwell.

36 يُسْكِنُ هُنَاكَ الْجِيَاعَ فَيُنْشِئُونَ مَدِينَةً آهِلَةً.

37 They sow fields and plant vineyards that yield a fruitful harvest.

37 وَيَزْرَعُونَ حُقُولاً وَيَغْرِسُونَ كُرُوماً تُنْتِجُ لَهُمْ غِلَالاً وَفِيرَةً.

38 He blesses them, and they multiply greatly; He does not let their herds diminish.

38 وَيُبَارِكُهُمْ أَيْضاً فَيَتَكَاثَرُونَ جِدّاً، وَلَا يَدَعُ مَوَاشِيَهُمْ تَتَنَاقَصُ.

39 When they are decreased and humbled by oppression, evil, and sorrow,

39 عِنْدَمَا يَقِلُّ الشَّعْبُ وَيَذِلُّ بِفِعْلِ الضِّيقِ وَالْبَلايَا وَالأَحْزَانِ،

40 He pours out contempt on the nobles and makes them wander in a trackless wasteland.

40 يَصُبُّ اللهُ الْهَوَانَ عَلَى الرُّؤَسَاءِ، وَيُضِلُّهُمْ فِي أَرْضِ تِيهٍ لَيْسَ فِيهَا طَرِيقٌ.

41 But He lifts the needy from affliction and increases their families like flocks.

41 لَكِنَّهُ يُنْقِذُ الْمُحْتَاجِينَ مِنَ الْبُؤْسِ، وَيُكَثِّرُ عَشَائِرَهُمْ مِثْلَ قُطْعَانِ الْغَنَمِ.

42 The upright see and rejoice, and all iniquity shuts its mouth.

42 يَرَى الْمُسْتَقِيمُونَ هَذَا وَيَفْرَحُونَ، أَمَّا الأَثَمَةُ فَيَخْرَسُونَ.

43 Let him who is wise pay heed to these things and consider the loving devotion of the LORD.

43 فَلْيَتَأَمَّلْ كُلُّ حَكِيمٍ فِي هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ، وَيُمْعِنِ النَّظَرَ فِي مَرَاحِمِ الرَّبِّ.
