Psalms 115

1 Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to Your name be the glory, because of Your loving devotion, because of Your faithfulness.

1 La gloria, Señor, no es para nosotros, sino para ti; por causa de tu gran amor y tu fidelidad.

2 Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?”

2 ¿Por qué permitir que digan las naciones: «¿Dónde está su Dios?».

3 Our God is in heaven; He does as He pleases.

3 Porque él está en los cielos, y hace lo que quiere.

4 Their idols are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.

4 Pero los ídolos de ellos son imágenes de oro y plata hechas por manos de hombres.

5 They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;

5 No pueden hablar ni ver, aunque tengan ojos y boca.

6 they have ears, but cannot hear; they have noses, but cannot smell;

6 No pueden oír con sus oídos, ni pueden oler con su nariz,

7 they have hands, but cannot feel; they have feet, but cannot walk; they cannot even clear their throats.

7 ni palpar con sus manos y tienen pies pero no pueden caminar. Ni pueden permitir un solo sonido con su garganta.

8 Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them.

8 Y quienes los fabrican o adoran son tan necios como sus ídolos.

9 O Israel, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.

9 ¡Israel, confía en el Señor! Él es tu ayudador. Él es tu escudo.

10 O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.

10 Sacerdotes de Aarón, confíen en el Señor. Él es su ayudador; él es su escudo.

11 You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.

11 Todos ustedes, que temen al Señor, confíen en él. Él es su ayudador; él es su escudo.

12 The LORD is mindful of us; He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron;

12 El Señor nos recuerda y seguramente nos bendecirá. Bendecirá al pueblo de Israel, a los sacerdotes de la familia de Aarón,

13 He will bless those who fear the LORD—small and great alike.

13 y a todos, grandes y pequeños que le temen.

14 May the LORD give you increase, both you and your children.

14 Que el Señor te bendiga ricamente a ti y a tus hijos.

15 May you be blessed by the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

15 Sí, el Señor, que hizo el cielo y la tierra te bendecirá.

16 The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth He has given to mankind.

16 Los cielos pertenecen al Señor, pero él ha dado la tierra a toda la humanidad.

17 It is not the dead who praise the LORD, nor any who descend into silence.

17 Los muertos no pueden entonar alabanzas al Señor, porque han bajado al silencio de la tumba,

18 But it is we who will bless the LORD, both now and forevermore. Hallelujah!

18 pero nosotros sí, nosotros lo alabamos para siempre. ¡Aleluya! ¡Alabado sea el Señor!
